[D&D] The Lost Mines of Phandelver

Also: I haven't heard from @Don't panic at all either. I hope everything's okay and you're just busy with life like I am!

Yes, that is true.

I am currently abroad - and shall be pretty occupied here - until the end of September - which means that I should be available - because less busy - by the last week of September.

Thus, four weeks from now would suit me perfectly.

Good luck with the move and I look forward to continuing the game when you are ready.

As far as @Don't panic, his last post was July 11th. He last post indicated that he just returned from the far east and that he was going to post again in the near future after he read through the turn. I hope he is okay. Unfortunately, he is a very private person so we have no way of contacting him.

@ravenvii, I would suggest in the future for any long running game that you get an email contact address (gmail, etc.) from each of the players so you can get ahold of them if they aren't on MacRumors.
 
It has almost been four weeks and hopefully @ravenvii has been able to finish his move. The one thing we should start discussing now is what we do in the absence of @Don't panic. In the event that @Don't panic doesn't return, @ravenvii will make the decision on what happens but all of us should supply our input.

- I'm for either having @ravenvii run @DON'T Panics's character as an NPC.

or

- We recruit another player to run a new fighter like @Don't panic's character.

Yup! I'm just coming here to see if you guys want to start up soon -- the WW game is winding down, and life is becoming less hectic here.

But first, I agree with @Plutonius; we should come to a consensus on @Don't panic's Bartholomeo character.

Here's a few things we can do (if you have any other ideas, let me know):
1. Keep things as-is, and I will play Bartholomeo for a short time before discharging him from the party somehow.
2. Give the Bartholomeo character over to @Huntn, and I'll take over Dalo for this battle, and he'll leave the party shortly after, 'special guest' like.
3. Let @Huntn create a new human fighter to replace Bartholomeo, and have both Bartholomeo and Dalo leave the party.
4. Or like @Plutonius said, recruit an additional player to take over Bartholomeo's character.

What do you guys think?

Hmm, this week I'm on the road and will not get back until the 27th Sept, another week reprieve? My internet connection is not currently reliable.

I like my dwarf cleric character and first choice would be to remain as such. Obviously, I think we'd all prefer that Don't Panic returned, but who knows if and when that will happen? We have had several people watching the thread who might be interested in taking over as Barty if we advertise. However, if needed to make it work, I'd be willing to take over as Barty, but I would need time to study up on him a bit and that will happen after I get back home.
 
I won't be available until the very end of September - this is because I am abroad (working) at the moment, but expect to be back home by the end of the month.

Am exceptionally busy these next few days, so - given how much time we have already lost - would prefer if we could wait another few days - say, ten or so - before having to decide on DP's fate.

I don't believe that the game will start until the end of the month but @ravenvii needs our suggestions on @Don't panic. If @ravenvii decides to get another player, it will take at least a week to find a replacement and get them setup.
 
However unlikely a return of the DP is - we never know so I think it's best IMO to let ravenvii (didn't we agree beforehand that we, the other players, could place orders for others in case they haven't got time? so it'd be up to Pluto imo to resolve DPs role in this fight) play DP atm and after the conflict is solved Bart retreats to wherever he has to go (so there remains the possibility of a comback later as well). Th easiest way afterwards would be Huntn replace his char with a new one < knight/warrior style.

That being said: I hope DPs doing fine! :(

@Plutonius, I am working flat out.

I have no mental space to give to this until the end of the month. No suggestions from me until then.

We have waited months - we can wait another ten days before I have the time to be able to put some thought into this.

I agree that this is likely the best course of action. But like you and @Scepticalscribe said, in the off chance that @Don't panic returns in the next couple of weeks, I'll leave it open until everyone's back towards the end of September.

Until then, enjoy the last vestiges of warm weather!

True. But those are imaginatory coats - the coldness is real though! :(

Just a heads up since this game seems to be set up anew - come mid December I won't be able to play for a looong time. How long you ask? I can't tell but I'm out for at least half a year or so (and frankly have no idea if I want/can play D&D afterwards). So keep that in mind. :eek: :D

edit: internet research gave me this as a possible solution. You think I'd look stupid wearing this?

You guys wanted another healer... Here I am. :)
Plan A find a replacement the equivalent of Barty.
Plan B I'll convert to a white knight, I can even be Barty if that will simplify the story line. Let's continue to hope DP returns.

Do not enter the woods in November in the U.S. in that outfit, unless you want to hear bullets whizzing by. ;)

We had also determined how much money we got after part 1 of the adventure but were not sure how much we spent in the town so far. Could you also figure out (or guess) how much money we had spent so we can divide the rest :).
