Guys why are some of you following this complicated guide?? All you have to do is run ZiPhone and everything works.

Whether you have a brand new OTB 1.1.3 or you have a 1.1.1 on the 3.9BL. It works.

It literally takes a few minutes to do and crucially it works! Don't have yourselves going through multiple steps, the simpler the better.

OW22: Thanks for posting that. I spent forever reading this entire thread and I was just about to jump back to the top and commit to doing this whole entire guide when I saw you mention ZiPhone.

I downloaded Ziphone for Leopard. I am on a 1.1.3 Iphone with a legit AT&T iphone plan. I checked Jailbreak only and then clicked Start and it said wait 45 and it rebooted fine. Checked phone works, edge works, youtube works, all my 3 pages of webclips are still there, syncs with itunes.

My phone appears to be exactly like it was before the jailbreak only now I have installer back!

Sorry, not to knock the author of this guide. I'm sure he put countless hours into it and the community is very appreciative, but I'm all about about one click jailbreaks and that was the most painless one I've done yet. Sometimes it pays to wait. Sure I'm only about 10 days from SDK supposedly but I'm impatient :)

error download failed

i kept getting this message what does this mean and how can i fix it im on 1.1.3

jailbroke 1.1.3 otb

I recently stumbled across a program, on line that helped me tremendously called ziphone. it will from what they say unlock any version of iphone no matter what firmware, or version it is. it worked for me,and all my functions on my phone still work perfectly,so i wanted to share it with you all. just google ziphone, and i believe it is the first link on the google page, and i could be wrong, but i think they have it for pc as well as mac. i myself run a pc with vista, and as i said it worked great for me.

Sorted

Brad, Dont look for it in specific categories, just simply go to all packages and then scroll all the way down the the "O"s. Oktoprep should be there.

Yep got it! thank you, appreciate your comments, i noticed that the jailbreak site went down for about 2-3 hours on Friday, which caused the original folder to disappear.

Found it in Sources as you said.

One final comment, my phone is unlocked with a brand new 02 sim and everything is working great apart from one thing lol!

I can't seem to dial out. I have 1 bar and then after I attempt to call or send a text it says no service?

Now I have checked the obvious, signal being blocked as out in the sticks, but this did not change when I drove out in the car?

Any ideas?

Yeah I also stumbled across this last night and managed to unlock my phone. The only problem I have now is as below, can't dial out as it says called failed and the status in the top left says no service? any ideas?

Hey, does anyone know how to uninstall an application the doesn't show up in the Uninstall tab in Installer? The application is on my homescreen, and I want it completely gone. Anyone know about this? I am new to this. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

Anyone eles have this problem and fixed it help thanks.

I have to agree (Wk45 1.1.2/UK Iphone/Unlocked/New 02 Sim

Well after spending numerous hours jailbreaking, learning, jailbreaking, learning then still having a phone that failed to call out with only one signal bar, I followed some links on Iclarified that lead me to install Ziphone 2.3.

Oh my god! in 2m 30sec it fixed 1.1.2 and kept everything, then tried the update through iTunes to 1.1.3 and bingo, full operational, unlocked on a sim of my choice! Done...

One useful piece of advice is that although I had jailbroken my phone successfully using the guide, Ziphone still required me to check this box as well as the other two (Unlock, Activate), in order to fix the calling out issue above.

:D

Step 14 No longer exists!

The new installer app does not have "OkToPrep." It was updated on 2/1/08 and is no longer "needed" but once i updated to 1.1.2 from a jailbroken 1.1.1 i could not jailbreak 1.1.2 because i did could not install OkToPrep putty... This was posted on jailbreakme.com "8. New! 2/1/08 Automatically oktoprep's (for easy 1.1.2 upgrade functionality, no need to install the package anymore)." How do i jailbreak 1.1.2? I had to restore to my original 1.1.3. Everything was perfect up until that point. HELP!

i jailbreaked my iphone no problem but when i installed apps they crashed so i whent to switch partitions and got to the step to enter in
ls -la / | grep Applications

the guide says
If you type "ls -la / | grep Applications" now to check whether these commands worked, the final part of the line that's printed should say "Applications -> /private/var/root/Applications". IF it does not say this, STOP and go post in the forum thread with what it does say. If everything looks good, run the following command and then reboot your phone.

it said

ls: illegal option -- /
usage: ls [-ABCFHLPRSTWZabcdefghiklmnopqrstuwx1] [file ...]

im ******** myself someone help

Please, Help Meeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone. I jailbroke it using this website. Okay, here's my problem: I installed Dock on my phone, but apparently it isn't compatible with 1.1.3 because as soon as I exited Installer, my phone kept trying to reload the springboard over and over again. Eventually, I accepted that it wasn't going to work, so I plugged it into my computer to use iNdependence to get it back to normal so that I could uninstall Dock, but iNdependence "quits unexpectedly" every time I try to use it. Does anyone know how I can uninstall Dock using my computer somehow. I'm not an expert at this, but will I have to use Terminal, and if so, how do I do it? Also, here's some useful information: I just updated Installer, and yesterday I installed BossPreffs (I think that's what it's called) so "Fonts" "Ringtones" and "Applications" are all on my harddrive in my iPhone.

PLEASE, FOR THE LOVE OF GOD HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I REALLY DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO STAY UP ALL NIGHT TRYING TO RE-JAILBREAK MY PHONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please... can someone just tell me how to uninstall "Dock" from my jailbroken 1.1.3 iPhone using my Macintosh computer?

Are you able to SSH into the phone and try and remove it that way? I feel for ya.

Yes, but I don't know what to do. Can you help???

Hey, I keep reloading this page, and nothing new comes up until I type a reply to the thread. So, I'm typing this to see if anyone has responded to what I've typed last time and to add another question.

Can someone tell me how to unintsall ANYTHING from my iPhone using my computer, so that I can fix this issue by myself in the future???

I just wanted to let everyone out there know that I'M STILL HERE.
Please help me. :(

The only thing I can think of is to SSH into the phone, go to applications folder and delete the dock.app (if that's what its named) but I'm not sure what other things will happen if you delete it like that so don't rely on my info. The other is to just do a full restore by going into DFU mode and restore using itunes.

I'll be happy to try using SSH, but I don't know where to begin. Can you help me?

I can't believe I didn't think of googling it. Thanks. I'm going to go do that.:)

I need to set up an SSH connection to my iPhone, then I need to search for a file on my iPhone and delete it. Is step one to set up a connection to my iPhone? And to set up the connecion, do I type this: "ssh root@<IPADDRESS>" ?

If you are running on a mac, you are going to need to download a program called CyberDuck. This is a very nice program that lets you SSH into your phone.

All you need to do is plug in your phone, go to cyberduck and click "Open Connection" Choose SFTP. Username: root Password: alpine

Where is asks for the server, thats where you enter your IP address. It should also be on port 22.

A whole list of folders will appear and go looking for what you want to delete!

I hope this helps, and if you need any help just comment back!

what are you using to set up the connection? you get your ip from going to Settings/Wi-Fi... click the blue arrow in the network your connected to and it will show your your IP. replace the <IPADRRESS> with that number. using terminal you would enter what you said: ssh root@<IPADDRESS>

First, thanks for offering your help. I have a proble, though. Here's a picture of what pops up after I try to connect. Please help.
