They asked me to test a developmental update under NDA last week, but received today still a message that it still takes some time. I'll try to return mine too, but that will be hard as I have it already for 4 months. I find the HDR performance of the Z27xs much better, so I want to stick with that one.

I've also tried two samples of the 27GP950 and found the IPS glow really distracting, but maybe there are samples which might do better.
Ok, so then I’m guessing that a fw update will get released soon then :)

For U2723QE / U3223QE - if you have hardware issues like significant bright pixels, vertical lines etc inside the first 30 days after your invoice date is it better to just return / rebuy or use the Dell premium panel warranty and have them send out a replacement unit?

I did use the dell premium warranty after 35 days or something like that works perfect, they send a new one when you have received it UPS did came and picked up my old one the day after

Are there any U3223QE owners that can comment on the color saturation / color volume in Smart HDR modes?

RTINGs review showed really poor HDR color volume on the U3223QE where it looks super washed out in HDR modes (vs great HDR color volume on the U2723QE).

Is significantly worse HDR color / saturation performance on the 32" model expected? Tempted to try the 32" for the extra 50-100 nits of brightness that reviewers are seeing in SDR modes (the 27" model at ~350 nits is a bit dim for bright room use), but the color volume issue on the 32" seems like a deal breaker.

You can have also a look at this thread on Dell forums, it looks like there are some issues in HDR: https://www.dell.com/community/Monitors/U3223QE-Nvidia-problems-with-MST-and-HDR/td-p/8148303

Please avoid buying the U2723QE or U3223QE until Dell has both improved quality control and successfully ironed out the numerous issues that the "working" units are currently suffering from.

Dell says they are busy cooking up firmware fixes, but it's not at all clear that the issues plaguing these models can be resolved with firmware updates. If you're considering buying either of these just don't.

Maybe by October / November they'll have the manufacturing and the firmware issues sorted?

When I connect my Macbook (early 2020, i5 2,0Ghz, 16GB) with the U2723QE, the GUI is lagging pretty bad. The scaling I use is 3008x1692. Is it because the igpu of the i5 can´t handle a resolution of 6016x3384 scaled down to 3008x1692 or is it because of Monterey?

It’s because of macOS 12.4 when I did upgrade to 12.5 public beta the issue was fine

Let's say, I want to have this:
  • power delivery (I guess the Dell's 90W would be enough)
  • LAN connection
  • three additional USB devices (most likely an USB mic, a keyboard and a DAC)
All provided by the Dell monitor.
Is one cable coming from my MacBook Pro enough (regarding the usb-c bandwith)?
I don't know how much the USB-C input of the Dell differs from a Thunderbolt input.
Still debating how to clean up my desk, I'd love to just have one cable for my MacBook Pro.
I guess the cleanest solution would be an Apple Display or a LG Ultrafine, but then I'd have trouble to connect a normal pc to it.

I´m running 4x USB, LAN and 90W charging on my MacBook with my Dell monitor.

"Thunderbolt 3 ports look exactly the same as USB-C ports, and indeed, the connector is physically the same from a plug-in perspective. In many cases, they can do everything that a USB-C port can, except much faster. Indeed, Thunderbolt 3 is a superset of USB-C; you can plug a USB-C-only device into a Thunderbolt 3 port on a computer, and it'll work just fine.

Thunderbolt 3 lets you transfer data at up to 40Gbps. That's twice as fast as the 20Gbps maximum throughput speed of the fastest USB-C ports."

Edit: Some people had problems with 30hz only on their Dell. MacBooks 2018 and younger only have DisplayPort 1.2, so you have to change the monitor setting from "transfer speed" to "higher resolution"

Finally received the firmware update. I'll test it in a few hours and will let you know about my findings.

Is it downloadable for all users?
No, not yet at least. I'm testing the new firmware under NDA. So I cannot share the update with anyone. But I have to say that I'm impressed with the results! They have really fixed the flickering problem without disabling local dimming. So the four zones are still doing their work but without any flickering!

Hello there

I am just about to buy the U2723QE and I just would like to know if overall people are happy about it. I’m going to use it with a Surface Laptop from work and a MacBook Pro 2018. Could I use it to charge both devices? Also can it charge the battery of an iPad Pro?

EDIT: I placed the order. I shall get it next Thursday.

Anyone else use the built-in Ethernet and experiencing this problem?
I started using the Ethernet port on the Dell U2723QE, but a few times now I have restarted and there is no ethernet connection. If I unplug/plug-in the USB-C connection, it will come back. But it's annoying.

Same setup as you and I don’t have any issues

I’m super happy with my display.
I did replace one on warranty as the contrast ratio was too low.
No problem at all, dell did send a new display to me and the day after I did return my “broken” one.

Mine doesn't get a signal at all, and is probably being replaced. Hopefully third time the charm
