What do you mean exactly?
Maybe they mean one of those “coming by the end of 2018!” releases like the 2013 Mac Pro or the original 27” 5K iMac release?

I hope Apple wouldn’t do this but who knows at this point. Before 2013, I’d never heard of Apple doing “sneak peaks” of future product releases.

Oh C'mon don't be a spoil sport ! What is a stink ?? this is MacRumors not some citizenship form filling event that I have to be committed to what I am saying !! But to answer your question, yes positively yes ! This time hopefully I have the money !!

So a definite maybe ;)

It is always if, with the iPads considering I do not upgrade my ipad every year I mean on this occasion since a last few years ideally I would have wanted the iPad Pro Apple would have released this year should have come with OLED screens. But that's not going to happen so there's is always a if lol !!

They don’t always say it but they did say it last year before announcing the iPhone X. Apple Watch and iPhone just doesn’t seem enough for the event which typically lasts 2 hours. I think Apple Watch, iPad and iPhones makes more sense, followed by a October event for Mac’s.

They don’t always hold an October event event either, the last one was 2016.
Apple is releasing 3 phones, plus a major watch upgrade, plus AirPower, maybe AirPods v.2. I hope they do new iPads but without an iPad announcement they could easily fill 2hours still

The watch will take 30 minutes max, new iPhones and AirPower alongside AirPods which will be updated, they won’t spend a lot of time since they have been pre-announced anyway, 45 minutes to an hour for all of that making it one hour and a half.

Last year they easily did Apple TV, Apple Watch and 2 new iPhones plus the fact it was a new design, this year is an S year it the iPhone. There would be plenty of time for iPads.

Uh ? When did Airpod Ver.2 come on this year's event's agenda ? as far as I believe the Airpod ver.2 is slated for 2019 release right ?

Many think AirPods won’t even be this year, but in 2019. AirPower has been announced already so I really can’t imagine them spending more then 5-10 minutes talking about it and when it will be available. I do think that there will be time for iPads.

The member you quoted _never_ said the version two of the AirPods was releasing this year, they said ‘*maybe* Airpods Version two’ would release this year if you re-read what they wrote.

I also don’t see the version two of the AirPods for 2018, likely 2019. I think we know what to expect primarily for this keynote, but the iPads is definitely going to be the ‘unknown’ factor for this event. My final predictions is the iPads will not debut during the iPhone keynote, but perhaps Apple might announce the iPads at the end of the event, which might lead up to the October/November event of this year or 2019.

Sounds good. We know iPPs are coming this year per many rumours so it’s just a question of when.

Not everyone, is a self proclaimed Apple Analyst like other's here. So I do get that. And of course I can imagine that no one except for one here speaks in that fashion that Apple "is" releasing Airpod Ver.2 So I was going by his "Maybe" Phrase only. English is no longer only spoken and understood in selective countries.

So FYI...I do understand and speak English well, even with the fine nuances and connotations understood.

OH I never thought about ProMotion that's a good point! I do love OLED but it's true ProMotion is amazing and I sometimes forget that was a big selling point for me last year.
OLED (at least LG's OLEDs) can update at 120hz so there's no reason why you can't have OLED and ProMotion. But, yeah, I'd be shocked if there's an OLED iPad option. Kinda hope there isn't because it will $$$ and I'd feel compelled to buy it anyway.

To be clear there will be No new iPad Pro on September 12 if at all in 2018. It will likely fall back to Mid Feb like the 9.7” IPad Pro did in 2016.
It was very weird of Apple to launch the iPad Pro 12” late 2015 and not say a word about the 9.7” IPad Pro Which was MUCH better than the 12.5” IPad Pro Launch 6 months Prior. So it’s not beyond Apple to do really weird things.

Which is Why I am not selling my 9.7” Pro Until the new iPad Pro 2019 is on Store Shelevs
And you can Forget about OLED. That is Until LG or Samsung have some OLED product ready to offer customers like Apple. The Samsung Tab S4 is 10.5” And OLED. But lacks 120Hz. Apple will have to put in a Large order for OLED Displays at 11” from a vendor like Samsung and that has not happened.
Besides, OLED Displays fall victim to Burn In Image Retention. I would NOT want one. Until a second generation.

They wouldn’t do that because it would weaken the sales of their current iPad Pros. With iPads they have only done ‘upcoming releases’ when that upcoming release wasn’t really going to compete with a current product.

Doubt we would see the few leaks we have if it was going to be in 2019. It's highly likely will be soon if not in a few days maybe november

If Craig can chill with the animoji demonstrations then maybe they can get the iPads in.

With all due respect what Leaks? I’ve seen a CGI mock-up that’s all. And a rumor of an 11” IPad what other credible leaks are there 2 days before possible announcement?

I feel like this has been the most secretive launch ever.

CAD, case, rumours since late last year about Face ID etc. But I agree with you that there have been no solid leaks so far. The ones I’ve mentioned aren’t exactly widely regarded as accurate.

I for one am really hoping something comes out . . not because I intend to upgrade but more so that we can get back to talking current day features and workflows rather than just all of these speculation threads . . LOL

Based on articles that I read I do think it will be announced on the 12th. Can’t wait to get the Pro. I have an iPad Air and ready for a sweet upgrade

Apple usually has a separate get together to release new iPads and it usually in October or February and sometimes in June! I don't ever recall a combine iPhone, iPad release in September!

Apple has never had an iPad release in February from my recollection, February is not a likely date for a keynote any type of event during that time of year. It will either be this fall or perhaps spring 2019.

Probably the wrong thread but everyone’s here. What do you make of the lighting to USBC change? Is it a lighting to usb c cable and connector or proper usb c? Think they’ll finally open up the iPad to external storage or monitors?
