Next to zero chance AirPods will be included with the new iPhone. Why would they give away for free a product that is already in high demand and that they can’t keep in supply when they don’t need to? The iPhone demand will far exceed Apple’s available supply and if they can’t keep AirPods in stock now, how on Earth would they able be able to manufacture enough for millions of iPhones?

Apple doesn’t even include a USB-A to USB-C adapter with their newest MacBooks and MBP—no way they include AirPods when those same customers wiling to drop $1,000+ on a new iPhone are the same ones who will likely also spend another $159 on AirPods without batting an eye. ;)
Because rumor has it the next rumored iphone cost will be astronomical and for that high cost throwing in airpods, may sell more phones?

But they won't....

When in Apple's history have they offered something like that? They include beats with certain purchases for students, but beats are not nearly experiencing the same demand.

They won't need to include a high profit accessory with the high end iPhone, it will sell well enough on its own.

Exactly. Not to mention they are having shortages of the AirPods standalone. They wont even be able to make enough of them and they don’t need to. The massive design change in the iPhone 8 will ensure it doesn’t need the AirPods to sell itself. Even if they did bundle it in it wouldn’t affect my decision anyway as my wired headphones have better sound than the AirPods.

I doubt very seriously I will switch, but I wouldn't mind doing it.

After my first two iPhones, the iPhone and the iPhone 3GS, I decided I wanted to try something different.

It was the biggest mistake of my life. The phones I tried were horrible compared to what I was used to, and they really weren't good smart phones.

Therefore I immediately went back to the iPhone the second I had a chance.

So for years I stuck loyally with the iPhone. I even had other friends who were just about as loyal to the iPhone as me switch to Android. They even told me how good it was and that I would be more than satisfied.

I still never debated switching.

Then, this year my work phone switched from a BB (which sucked) to an S7. I'm really impressed with the phone.

If it weren't for the fact that I am so totally entrenched into Apple products, I would seriously contemplate switching.

So basically the iPhone is expensive but this at almost the same price is not. It's your value system, hope you like your new phone.
Its not "almost" the same price. If you count expandable storage its almost $400 cheaper. The S8 costs as much as a 7S will

I just bought a 128 gig 6s+
Great. However the point is the 128GB iPhone 8 will cost at least $1100

Same argument those who like to phones use. Your end titles to your subjective opinion but you're paying twice the cost for 10% of the functionality increment.
By your logic, why even upgrade from an iPhone 6? Whats the big deal between an iPhone 7 and a 6?

I suspect oled anomalies will irk you also, since from your posts you are very particular.
I accept that every technology has flaws. Taking that into consideration even with flaws OLED simply outshines LCD on a factual basis. Its the reason why Apple's top iPhone uses OLED

You are getting the display you like best based on someone else's opinion, is what you're doing.
Not only by Displaymate's metric but Apple themselves. Good luck getting an LCD iPhone next year

Better is not an absolute, it's an opinion.
We are talking facts. Ryzen is factually better than Intel's current overpriced lineup till Coffeelake launches and yet it wont sell nearly as well as Kabylake will. The Galaxy S8 is factually better than the iPhone 7 till the 8 launches but wont sell nearly as well as the 7 will

I'm talking about apples earnings call, no doom or gloom in that as was predicted
Well you win some you lose some. I wouldnt bet my house on Apple maintaning this trend for even 3 years sequentially though

iOS 11 wasn't released, sales didn't bouy the product based on the public beta.
Everyone knows how the iPad Pro 10.5 will be after iOS 11 is released. The best part is that Apple improved the display on the iPad Pro 10.5 by upping the refresh rate to 120hz and its almost as smooth as my 144hz monitor. Because of the better display and iOS 11 people found a reason to upgrade like me

I was discussing....I wasn't here until 2013. And your(incorrect) point was since 2013 you've been declaring doom and gloom for Apple. It hasn't happened. People are gleeful when a quarterly report is down in some metric but up in the same metric ytd. Bottom line, love him or hate him cook is here to stay and he has made Apple his.

I am not predicting doom and gloom. I am telling you that Apple's products are not the smooth sailing they used to be. Theres ups and downs. This shows cracks in the iPhone castle.

So you two are essentially turning this thread into the same shambles that the 3D Touch thread quickly escalated into ... Seriously have the pair of you nothing better to do other than play this same old tired ping pong nonsense. It's exasperating ....

To be fair i7 guy goes into every android related thread and starts these kind of arguments. For someone that is an Apple fan he sure spends a lot of time in Android threads. He is just a troll.

It's always ends up being the pair of them though trolling each other and it's just really pathetic when you have to wade through pages of a thread that are nothing but two posters having a glorified pee contest.

Subjective opinion proffered as 'fact' and a complete unwillingness to accept either persons subjective opinion, as if doing so would end up with either of them suffering from a fatal dose of wounded pride.

It's truly morose behaviour.

Wait, is this an example of an on-topic post? Just adding fuel to the fire while being totally incorrect about who "starts" anything. Pot calling kettle black is what comes to mind. Anyway MRU has a valid point, but name calling doesn't make your point.

To be fair, it takes two people to argue.

Agree, but if i7 guy stayed out of the Android threads there would not be an argument to start with. He clearly has no interest in Android devices so it screams out troll to me.
There is no reason to say anyone should stay out of any thread because you don't like their opinions. Just to point out you are doing exactly what you are railing against.

Hey you can do whatever you like but you are building a reputation on here for all the wrong reasons. Im not the one that is filling up every Android based thread with arguments. How about you try posting some positive stuff in some Apple based threads and help keep the peace. All I see you do is bash Android and Samsung, enough already ok.

There is a huge difference between not prefering and "bashing". Ok. Let's leave it at that. There are quite a few who "don't prefer" ios or iPhone where the comments really fall into the "bashing" category and somehow those comments don't count for anything. I think this is now done and cooked to a medium well.

The people that fill up Apple based threads with Apple bashing are just as bad, I agree lets call it done. After all no amount of debate will change someones mind when it comes to Android vs Apple.

I think we just don't want this to devolve into a couple of faceless guys bickering over which company is better as if they were defending their own mother. Just chill and enjoy the phone you have, not every discussion on an Internet forum is life or death.

I got a tax rebate this week :) so I will look at the iPhone 8 when it's out depending on features and overall size and handling. I still like Touch ID for example. I guess I could thank the tax man but it was my money I earned in the first place haha!

Are any of you prepared to spend over 1000 on either the Note 8 or iPhone 8?
I wasn't but if I have the money now and most importantly, it gives me what I want... I 'may'

I use a 7 plus and Galaxy S8 side by side. Either phone has its pros and cons.
For photos I exclusively use the 7 plus. Don't like the oversaturated S8 colors and with the ProCamera app and its low light "Lux+" -mode on the 7 plus several photos are combined into the final 1 - great results.
Of course the S8 is easier to handle due to its size. On the other side the naked jet black 7 plus feels great in your hands.

Nope 128GB at 1K is my limit. Anything over that is just throwing money away
It will be one heck of a phone though, no doubt.

When considering that the 8GB/128GB OnePlus 5 I'm typing this on cost me "only" 560€ and is a wicked fast device, a phone costing almost twice as much would have to be simply amazing with no compromises whatsoever. So while I'm not ruling out the possibility, I'd be quite surprised if I got one.
