€1179 for 64gb. €1349 for the 256gb iPhone X here and no mention of availability for Ireland (would not surprise me if it doesn't land till 2018 here).

That's some damn fecking expensive phones there.

Well i am quite relieved having glanced at the highlights on social media. The iPhone 8 looks very close to the X to me in terms of what it could offer me so price isn't the issue I thought it would be. If I was in the market this year I'd most definitely get the iPhone 8. It keeps Touch ID which I still think is better at this stage than the face thing and the exterior of the phone is different enough to give the feeling it's a decent upgrade from a 6S. I can see myself picking up the 8 this time next year

I was positively surprised by the standard Qi wireless charging, I was half expecting some MfI restriction there.

Once Apple Pay lands here, I might go for the 8 or the 8+.

I think FaceID has some problems if it had a hitch onstage. I am passing on this beta test. It’s not gonna be available till December if Apple delayed it by over a month just for preorders and by Jan I might as well wait for the next one.

It's very tempting I must admit. I would go on contract and I could upgrade after 12 month anyway.

I was always a note guy but with apple watch/ipad and air pods it would be tough to switch but I may just keep my 7 plus.

That pricing is worse than I thought and the availability is a surprise

It could just be beta/early software.

I think it'll work more reliably come release time.

Apple does the best product presentations! I see a 8 Plus in my future and maybe a JoD to the iphone 10 later.

I cannot imagine what an 8 affords you over a 7 Plus, but I might be a buyer for the X all the same. I do like the form factor. And someone finally stole WebOS's multitasking!!
