Ritchie will change his tune, and spin it has the greatest thing every created. Like he does every.dang.time.

Oh, I know. ;) We're going to hear a very different tune about many things, from glass-backs to wireless charging to OLED displays. Yknow, now that these features are all done right.

Face ID though is legit. I'm really looking toward this feature succeeding and pushing the envelope and standard for facial unlock. It works like magic on my S8, and I would love to see it develop and grow.

iPhone X looks nice, but I cant help but feel the GS8 is better UI wise because of the virtual home button and always on display.
I guess having the display always on would mess with the Face ID.
[doublepost=1505244842][/doublepost]Also, besides the notch the X has more screen to body ratio than even the S8.

Yep, the X is straight out. But did 8 actually go up from what the 7 used to be?

No I meant either model as in the 64 or 256 iPhone X. I don't see the point of going to iPhone 8 Plus from iPhone 7 Plus.

I think the 8/8 Plus prices are same as iPhone 7/7plus

In the US, I think they're $50 bucks more each model.

I'm still a bit baffled why Apple is allowing the "ears" to be even during full video playback.

[doublepost=1505245650][/doublepost]Got my answer in regards to how to access the notification panel:

Control Center is now a swipe down from the right top edge, and the notifications shade is a swipe down from the top left.

This will probably be the most un-user friendly iPhone to date. The Home button was always the way out before.
But this was necessary. I'm sure apple will provide a bunch of onscreen tips the first time its powered on.

Well now that the capacities aren't quite the same it's hard to do a direct comparison, but it looks like they went up a bit. 64GB 8 is 829e, while I paid 849e for my 128GB 7. I think the base model 7 was 7xx€. I might go for the 8 or the 8+ as the wife's 6 is starting to fall apart and she'd like my 7, but the price increases are somewhat annoying. I wouldn't like to go back to 64GB especially with the improved camera, but the 256GB variants are 999€ and 1109€...

Touch ID and bezel-lovers rejoice, the iPhone 8 is still here in all its three-year-old-design glory.

IMO, between the iPhone X and iPhone 8, the X has the better front design (obviously) but the 8 has the better back design.

The glass looks really nice on the iPhone 8, especially since there are no antenna lines on the body now.
Im sure it will be very popular, especially the gold.

At least there are plenty of cases and screen protectors already available.

I did read that it could be a hair thicker. Hopefully it's not enough to make a difference.

Yeah, the three-year-old design that's being asked to go into a fourth year is the front. Name me one other OEM that can get away with a three year old design? Ain't no OEM I know of.

Agreed about the back. The back looks way better without the antennae lines that marred the original iPhone 6/6S design. And I'm particularly fond of glass backs. I've always said they looked more premium, cleaner, and sleeker. They sure do on the 8's.

Not only do they look nicer, they offer better features, like wireless charging, and are better for radio signals.

The plan this year from Apple kind of amazes me. If you want a Plus for the larger screen, why in the world wouldn't you instead opt for the X?

Wow the 8 plus is getting even bigger and heavier, its already heavy as it is.

Well it looks like the 8 Plus will have better battery life.

Yeah but US price was always sooooo much cheaper than European that you deserve a price hike. ;)

I agree that no other OEM could get by using three year old designs and not get bashed for it.

I cannot imagine what an 8 affords you over a 7 Plus, but I might be a buyer for the X all the same. I do like the form factor. And someone finally stole WebOS's multitasking!!
The 8 plus will give me a slightly better camera and wireless charging and a faster chipset.
[doublepost=1505247468][/doublepost]
Too bad it's fake wireless charging since there's still a wire involved.
yeah...isn't it amazing how much of what we have had for years finally makes it way to the Apple eco system.

Touche. I feel for you guys.
Yeah I'm just not having any success justifying €1349 anytime soon...

Seriously I could in all likelihood buy the V30 and an S8 from eGlobal and still have cash in my pocket by comparison.

The X looks an amazing iPhone but that price is too much of a barrier for me to get over regardless of being able to afford it, it's more a case of not being able to justify it. Heck even subsidised on a carrier contract you would be looking at €700-800 upfront here (the cost of another phone off contract) and still be stuck on a 24 month tariff paying back the additional cost in your plan. It's just crazy where prices have gone.
