Is it normal for the screen to have a pink/magenta colour when viewing at an angle a black image with full brightness on?

black picture at FULL brightness in a dark room at an angle ? yes. both my DMPT models have that...

however, brightness needs to be FULLY dialed up and the room needs to be very dark .... so it doesn't bother me as i can't see myself in a use case where i stare at a black screen on full brightness at night at an angle...

Thank you I thought as much but wanted some opinions/ peace of mind. I purchased AppleCare+ for the first time as well for further peace of mind if issues do occur later.

My experience has been that they seldom see screen issues in their big, bright stores and I've had cases where they've been reluctant or outright refused to replace devices with screen issues. I stopped buying it for this reason. I've had five different model iPads since the first one came out and the only issues that I've ever had with any of them are screen issues. Those are the issues that they seem most reluctant to address, at least at the Apple stores that I've been at.

Hopefully the stores here won't be so reluctant. It sounds silly but if I know a place is going to be difficult I bring my mum with me as she doesn't mess around (without being rude) if staff try to dismiss an issue and it usually causes them to resolve it.

41/59 split on yes and yes but whatever bundled, and no problems sample of 53.

Dang that's not looking great but I would have imagined way worse from my own sample of 3

I must have had the worst luck and been the pickiest person :p

Here's my wife's. Also serial number DL not that it means anything. This screen looks good too I think.

I find Apple fairly accommodating if their is an issue with a product. They want the customer content and they rectify issues if something is wrong. Also, warranties/Apple Care also play a role when needed as well.

Not a fan of the general tint lack of crisp washed out look on this on

Don't tell her tho! If she likes it more power to her/ and probably you

I'll bet off axis is relatively pink and finicky compared to ur panel

Yeah this photo was from a different camera so I was mainly looking for the yellow. Off axis is actually pretty good and looks better than the picture shows. Only thing is hers has a screen protector on so it's tough to photograph without some rainbow and weird things but overall in person it looks good. I'll try to get a better shot using the same camera I used on the others.

Side by side would be the real deal comparison!

Even with a screen protector (tho that parts not ideal)

from my observations at a retail store, BLACK
DLX models have the most uniform panel ever. Miles ahead of white bezels, despite the serial

Hi,
I've got the same problem with my 10.5 iPad Pro. Darker lower edge and then nearly a half of the screen with a brighter yellow tint. And I had the same problem with 2 old gen iPad Pro 12.9 (but for these it was awful: half yellow screens).
I think it's ok most of the time but when I try to draw or handwrite it is too distracting. Worst, if I use red colors on each side, it's orange on the yellow tinted side.
I'm waiting for a miracle this weekend but otherwise Monday I'll return it.

Opinions on which one to keep. I think left has a yellow tint. Both exhibit pink hue off central axis but the right less so.

First two of serial#?

If it were me 100 percent unambiguously id keep the right the text looks good the left text looks sorta fuzzy

I feel like I'm at the optometrist. Lens 1 or lens 2? Lens 1 ... or 2? Now 2 ... or 3?

Serial # first two letters?

Too bad you cant ask Apple Store to give you one with serial # starting with, but that flexibility can probably be had at other retailers.

But maybe you can request like 2-3 iPads , have them bring them out "visually want to verify they're all same model" and then change your mind on all but DL

Lol

I'm beginning to suspect DL are more statistically likely to not look like the left one, in that comparison photo of the two. But thats entirely a guess on limited observations.

Crisp text is key, you're reading on the dang thing!

Especially coming from a crisp text previous model to new model, unless you dont care or dont see it or both, i cant see how that wouldn't bother you

I’ll try to take one shortly once I get all the kids to bed. It is really subtle but enough my ocd can’t handle it lol. Almost like a faint brown/yellow just along the bottom edge in portrait. I had just noticed it today and came across this thread. Glad I’m not crazy lol

I thought I was the only one noticing the screen color issue until I came across this thread. I noticed it right away when the first white screen came on. I'll go back to the apple store and try to exchange it with the good one.
