So I just got off a chat with an AT&T rep. They ARE honoring FAN discounts. I just switched over to the UDP Plus over the chat, received my FAN discount, can sign up for AutoPay using a credit card, and receive the $25 credit to DTV. I just saved a nice chunk of money.

Yes, you can use a credit card for Autopay, they will always take your money, but will you still receive the $10 discount? I would say no since the fine print specifically excludes it.

There are two options for unlimited, the more expensive has the hotspot. Their app and website are still switching over, but I switched to the more expensive one and I have hotspot and the email says Unlimited Plus.

Okay I have an update for everyone. I just chatted online with a rep and I called in to be double sure. FAN discounts do NOT apply to the new plans. Agent apologized previous agents were misinformed. She said since the plans weren't available they hadn't been trained yet. So if you have the old DIRECTV unlimited plan, it DOES apply. Do not switch over to these new plans because you won't be allowed to go back to the DIRECTV unlimited plan. So I guess you can say we have a grandfathered unlimited plan.

And yes, I have a 57% discount in addition to being able to still do contract upgrade for 1 year...you read that right. 1 year, not the regular 2 year contracts.

Oh c'mon, spill the beans already. Who is it? Coca Cola? CFA? Home Depot? UPS? Falcons?

That's interesting. When I look at the price details on the new unlimited plans while signed into my account, both plans indicate that my FAN discount does not apply.

Since they're in Athens, my guess is UGA.

State employee discounts are typically 18-20% though.

If its true, oh well. This plan is still cheaper than my 3 grandfathered unlimited plans, plus I get tethering. Thats all I care about.

The rep I am on the phone with now is saying the same thing, no FAN discounts. But she doesn't seem that sure about it.

It's pretty obvious at this point that ATT CSR's DONT KNOW. Everyone is, at this point, getting up in arms about nothing.

The same has happened with VZW & TMO before. When new plans and policies are introduced, it takes a bit of time for correct info to be disseminated. Many CSR's are simply making educated guesses.

Yeah its definitely a mess. I have gotten 5 yes and 3 no over the last week. And I have screenshot evidence of AT&T.com saying my 21% FAN applies.

This 100%. No one knows anything. I'm sure the lawyers don't even know.

According to the chat log (I asked that specific question), YES. But who knows now with this whole cluster f***.

How about the fact that I can't even log into my account. I think their servers are overwhelmed.

I can still log in through the MyATT App but the desktop site is a no go for now.

I called, and the CSR said definitively that my FAN would apply to the new plan. She even touted this as an AT&T benefit, saying "the other companies aren't giving discounts on unlimited". She ran the numbers, and gave me a monthly total with FAN, so I switched from my grandfathered unlimited. I can't log into my account now, but if I discover no FAN, I'll probably be out the door.

Have you rebooted your device? As soon as I did it worked. But I was able to change my plan through the app before it went down.

I have a connected car, so I am not able to change to this plan until they figure that out. Even though it clearly says connected cars are eligible for $20.

Well, all I know for sure is that if I wanted to switch to one of the new unlimited plans via their website, its pretty obvious that the FAN does not apply when you look at the price breakdown of the new unlimited plan vs. the MSV plan that my family is currently on. The MSV plan lists a Corporate Discount and the unlimited plan lists none (or, more specifically, "-"). I saw it for myself earlier this morning.

I'd post a screenshot if I could; but the account management portion of AT&T's website is currently down.

I posted a screenshot earlier in this thread that shows the unlimited plan having the FAN. #31
