Well, all I know for sure is that if I wanted to switch to one of the new unlimited plans via their website, its pretty obvious that the FAN does not apply when you look at the price breakdown of the new unlimited plan vs. the MSV plan that my family is currently on. The MSV plan lists a Corporate Discount and the unlimited plan lists none (or, more specifically "-").

I'd post a screenshot if I could; but the account management portion of AT&T's website is currently down.

To this day the account management portion of AT&T always listed the wrong costs for my previous UDP even though I was receiving the FAN discount. I wouldn't genuinely trust 100% that screen either.

Clck on "View Price Details" on the Unlimited Plan. You'll see "-" for your corporate discount - i.e., no discount.

I was in that tab all morning, that was not an box for me. I would show it if I could get back in, but I cannot. I should have screenshot it. But that was definitely not there. I studied that page very carefully, even the *** at the bottom.

Okay guys, I reached out to account executive to get some insight on the FAN discounts now that it's regular business hours. The FAN discounts do not apply to either of these new unlimited plans. The only exception is the military discounts. She read to me the memo that was sent out from her boss from the corporate office that will be trickled down in the coming days to the other employees.

I can also confirm this. I see a dash in the corporate discount row under the unlimited plus/choice plans columns. However, I do see the discount applied in my now legacy unlimited plan in the corporate discount row under retired unlimited plan.

I will still wait until my first bill because I don't believe anything anyone at AT&T says.

I managed to switch my plan through the my ATT App, the site itself is a clusterf#&k. I noticed that my FAN is still up even after the change. Let's see if they honor it.

I can't believe I just switched my grandfathered UDP. I feel like a virgin....... a used virgin.

Do not have that tab on my chart. Thats extremely bizarre. If the stupid app would load I would post it.

I was having a mini 'panic' attack right before I clicked submit. I had been with that plan for 9 years and was terrified of losing it. And I just threw it away!!

My plan changed and my FAN account appears but I don't think that means we're receiving the discount. They may just be leaving the FAN discount acc# in the header. When I spoke to a rep 2 days ago, she told me that the FAN discount would not be applied but I wouldn't loose its "ability" to use it on a different plan, when applicable.

When you say your FAN is still up, do you mean that your FAN is still listed when you're signed into your account? If so, that sounds completely normal; but I would not expect to see a FAN discount applied to the new unlimited plan. Your account is still eligible for the FAN discount even though the particular plan you selected is not.

Bingo. I suspect this is correct. Your account still has FAN eligibility but the unlimited plan, if selected, is not FAN eligible.

This is correct. Not sure why others don't understand that. You'll see the fan when you log into your account. Doesn't mean it'll be applied to your plan.

Got it, this is true. I'm not saving that much compared to what I was paying with FAN, the only difference was that I was paying for 550 minutes where as now it's unlimited everything. I went with the unlimited Plus although I could have gone with Choice. I barely stream video content but I do stream spotify often. The cheaper unlimited choice plan also knocks you off the 4G LTE........ no thanks.

Well, it doesn't technically "knock you off" the LTE network. Your device will still connect to the LTE network if it's available. Your device will just be throttled to 3 Mbps (or 1.5 Mbps when streaming content that AT&T identifies as video).

Lol. They give their own employees only 50% off.
I think if you're an IMO (Indirect Mobility Offer) employees of Authorized Retail, National Authorized Retail, National Retail, and Apple Retail is where you get a 57% discount.

You know what really doesn't make sense? The auto pay portion that excludes credit cards!!! I get points on my credit card when using my CC to pay bills.

I currently have DTV+ Unlimited plan with 3 lines.

My current unlimited plan is about $163 with fan discount and I get $10 combined billing discount.
So I am wondering if I switch to the newer plan that I would be paying $10 more which would bring my cost to $175 which, so where am I saving? Will the $10 combined billing go away if I switch?

Just not a big fan of the new plan, unless you use hotspot.

Well, I predict that AT&T is going to modify its unlimited plan offerings AGAIN over the next several weeks/months. I don't know why they can't get this right...it's not that complicated.

What they should've done today was made the features of the previous unlimited plan available at the new Unlimited Choice plan price. They should've made hotspot the only differentiating factor between the two unlimited plans.

The throttling nonsense on the Unlimited Choice plan is crazy. I predict that the throttling will go away on the Choice plan sooner rather than later due to lack of interest in a plan with such an arbitrary restriction. There are plenty of people who don't want or need hotspot. They should still be able to access high-speed data on their devices, though -- just like AT&T was offering until this morning.

Also, for simplicity, they should really offer only one unlimited plan and make 10 GB of hotspot data an available add-on feature for those who want it.
[doublepost=1488481062][/doublepost]It's interesting to note that on their website, at least, AT&T now "recommends" the Unlimited Plus plan when I go to change my plan. Previously, it recommended the MSA 10 GB plan. We currently have the MSV 3 GB plan with 3 GB of bonus data.

Considering that the Unlimited Plus plan would almost double what we pay every month and we only use ~3 GB of data per month anyway, I'll have to say "no thanks" on that recommendation, AT&T.

Although I do agree with you on how AT&T should have differentiated the plans, I doubt they are going to change anything based on lack of interest in them. You need to consider a lot of people that are going to sign up for the unlimited choice plan, specifically older/less technical people, either wont know what that 3mbps speed means or even be told about it when they go into the AT&T store which may be what AT&T is banking on.

Interesting. I got in to the site, too:

I would advise anyone switching to the new unlimited plans to do so under the impression that the FAN discount will not be applied and be prepared to pay the higher price. Their website seems to be all over the place right now.

Interestingly, when I'm signed into their website on my computer and I go to "Change my plan" and then click "View all plans", this is what I see. I wonder if I'd have any success getting them to honor $47.00 per month on the Unlimited Plan Plus? It should be noted that when I actually go to select that plan, it shows the correct price, unfortunately.

Saw something similar. The website is full of errors. Be careful if you select something. It may not be what you think it is. The unlimited choice plan was at the unlimited plus price and vice versa. Be careful if you make a choice on the website.

I used the iPhone app to change to the unlimited choice plan to try it out. Just had to see what it is like. So far I can't tell the difference. No commitment, I can change to another plan any time I want. Liking it so far.

Well, credit card providers take a portion of the charges, which is why it's better for carriers if people don't use them so they don't lose out on that money, which is probably why they are encouraging the use of debit and direct bank payments.
