Today's leaks look like the most credible leaks thus far. Either way... three more days. Too bad it's going to be at night.

I'm trying to reserve my opinions for until the official unveiling, but strictly speaking of today's leaks from China, I'm a little disappointed.

Also want to note this doesn't match up to the case leaks that depict a more square-ish design and depict the speakers still next to the cameras. Not that case leaks are more credible -- just pointing out the differences.

I guess Samsung is going with Apple route, retain shell design and change interior. Physical home button is still present, yuck!!! I'd rather have HTC One or Sony Z.

If those China leaks are real, this is a redesigned Galaxy, albeit a slight one.

That is not the Apple route, unless you're comparing this to the iPhone 4S-to-5 progression.

Android Authority alleges that today's leaks are fake:

How is this not an Apple S route??

It's basically the same thing aesthetically (yes very minor changes to accommodate bigger screen) as the S3 albeit clearly packing faster processor and improved screen resolution.

But if you had just shown me the image on its own, i would have thought it was a galaxy S3.

I'll be sticking to the HTC one if that is what samsung have to offer in handset aesthetics 2013. I just do not find it appealing to me personally what so ever.

It has a larger screen and looks different on the sides and back (speaker and flash positions).

It is basically the same thing, but it's not the same thing. The S progression of iPhones are the same thing, casing wise.

I'm not denying the resemblance to the S3.

*All assuming these leaks are real. Android Authority and Android Police both think they're fakes.

I hope its a fake. Would love Samsung to be a bit more "daring" in their design.

Personally, I'm becoming unconvinced those leaks are real. I just can't imagine them going back to the same speaker position as the S2 and family.

I'm sure with 60million S3's sold, there are plenty of people who do like it's aesthetics - so a minor revision in the design rather than an overhaul would make sense. It just wouldn't encourage anyone who didn't like the S3 to give the S4 a go.

Either fake phone, or fake casing ?

If they aren't fakes, then the earlier case leak doesnt match up if we look at camera and speaker placement.

S4 back reportedly...

I'm not talking about whether this is a good or bad move nor am I encouraging or discouraging anything. Just saying, it is a redesign and it isn't like the S-progression of iPhones. That's all.

I realise that and I agree with what your saying, I was more rationalising (reasoning) if they chose to go that route to myself ;-) :) That's all. :p

Source? I'm simply curious. Last I saw they had sold 40 million as of the middle of January....it would pretty insane if they've sold 20 million more in about 2 months....especially since they didn't even sell that many over the holidays.

I don't think it is a "re-design", but it obviously isn't also like the S-progression.

This is a design tweak. They haven't made ANY major changes - unless a display size increase of 0.19" constitutes as "major"....

This isn't the 4 > 4S (antenna changes, internal changes), nor is it the 4S > 5 (0.5" increase, design changes, complete overhaul of the interior).....it is somewhere in between.....

And if those leaks are true....I may look at the HTC One for my September upgrade....

I honestly thought I had read they had sold 60 million and expected to sell 100 million S4's. Maybe the 60 million is just expectation as well ?

To be honest, most Samsung S3 news just passes me by with only small casual interest as I never liked the handset personally.

Ahh ok....I asked because I had just quoted a January source that said 40 million and wanted to make sure I hadn't missed a more updated number.

I too have heard the 100 million expectation....in 9 months no less....seems a bit far fetched unless they plan on dropping the price....

I wonder what Samsung's stock will do if they don't meet that 100 million mark?

Just buy a s pen if its that important..

The s pen has over 1000 levels of pressure into the wacom digitiser (or something) if it doesnt have it built in then you cant just buy an s pen for it, its not just a standard stylus that you buy from ebay or anything

Yea, either that or the website is bonkers. I have another look up that interfaces with Apple's database for warranty checks and all that jazz. However I cannot seem to communicate with it at this time.

the latest note has the speaker in that position..

Yeah. A commenter in the Android Police website said this is a bootleg Note II.

In other words... a knockoff of the Note II (though it's missing the S-Pen, but that's bootlegs for ya).

I'm going to say fake.

HTC loves small batteries, and Sony is not very big on battery life either.

After trying a gazillion phones, i find battery life to be one of the most important metrics in a mobile device in 2013, and i doubt both Sony and HTC can cover that.
