I reckon 100% its the real deal, the only thing that was bothering me was the alignment of the front camera so i looked at my note 2 to compare and that also gives an impression that its out of line. Everything else fits. Have a look at the s4 invite, it has the exact same texture.

Look an awful lot like a GS3.

Looks like the Chinese leak was legit then.

Yeah, seems like the leaks are legit. Can't say I'm wowed by Samsung's design choice for the S4. I've always preferred more squared off designs, like how the Galaxy Note 2 is more squared off than the Galaxy S3. If only Samsung could use a design shape closer to what the Sony/Lenovo/HTC flagship phones use. This S4 won't make me upgrade from my Galaxy Note 2 though. I will wait for the Note 3.

I admit it shows a lack of innovation but I'm not disappointed. I'm one of those seemingly rare people who actually does like the GS3's design. While it's slightly lazy on Sammy's part not to change it, I'm glad they stuck with that awesome design.

If I had to guess I'd say they were on a similar cycle to Apple. The OG GS and the GS2 shared basically the same design, now the GS3 and GS4 will do the same, and I expect the GS5 and GS6 will presumably use an updated one.

At least it still appears that you can remove the back cover on the S4 and replace the battery easily. I'm glad Samsung is sticking to this good choice. I wonder if the S4 will come with wireless charging capabilities built into the back cover like how you can buy them after market.

Yeah Sammy is wise letting users replace the battery and use microSD cards when competitors like HTC and even Google's own Nexus devices are going all Apple on us over such things.

The tech industry is becoming more and more like the fashion industry: you must have a new look every year to keep the technistas interested.

Here's the thing: I *never* liked the look for the Galaxy. So more of the same means... you guessed it. :)

I loved the design of the iPhone 4 when it came out, and liked the design of the iPhone 4S all the same (which is my current phone).

I love the design of the Nexus 4, but it comes right smack in the middle of my contract (and the $300 price? What a farce that was).

My contract runs out in October, so I'm looking at the phones being released *this* year. Hence my remark about the next Nexus likely being my next phone. I loved the current design, so I'm hoping they'd a) keep the same design, or b) come out with something better.

Fashion industry? Dunno, maybe that's a decent analog, since the specs in all those phones are basically the same, anyway -- and I'll most likely root and install stock Android on it, anyway -- so looks are basically all that'd convince me to buy. The Nexus has an edge over all other phones simply because it *comes* with stock in the first place, so the design of a Samsung/HTC/Sony/Whoever phone NEEDS to blow me away to convince me to buy.

I'm really hoping March 14th delivers. I'm in need of a new phone now that I'm returning my Nexus 4.

And the reviews for the HTC One and the Xperia Z just aren't good enough.

Stock Android isn't all the great compared to Samsung's Touchwiz, except for update speed. Samsung's Touchwiz brings in a lot of useful features like call blocking that isn't even included in stock Android.

There's always a chance these leaks are of a prototype and not the shipped version.

Release date... hope it's not June for US markets. =[

----------

I may take advantage of Apple's 30 day return policy for unlocked iPhones until the S4 is released. Hopefully it will be within mid-April in US markets... :T

Will wait until the official release before I jump to any conclusions. I liked the feel and form factor of the S3 so I wouldn't be upset if the S4 was similar.

I loved the iPhone 4 and would've been happy if the iPhone 5 was similar but with a 4.8"+ screen.

I would have preferred the 3GS shell instead. The rounded back felt great whereas the 4/4s/5 design is awkward ergonomically IMO.

Agreed. As devices get larger, the square shape is just not conducive to ergonomics. Apparently, the HTC One is extremely comfortable to hold. Too bad HTC insists on making the power/wake button uncomfortably and stupidly out of reach.

Certainly looks like the Chinese leak.... However....
Twitter picture doesn't have the earpiece grill ? Does the new phone beam calls directly into the speech centre of the brain?

If thats what they're going with I'm still not a fan of the aesthetics once more. Given the option of a poorly placed HTC logo to a plastic soap bar - I know which would irk me more after spending €600..... It'll sell like hot-cakes regardless to my distaste for it.

I must admit that I quite liked the S3's design, would have liked the more square design shown recently though, will still be interested with what this one packs. :)
