It's an Exynos at Best Buy. Much better than a Snapdragon too.

It's the International version. Same with B&H Photo. But there's no Samsung Pay, so if that's not important to you, and you don't mind spending a little extra money, then this would be the one to get.

You are correct on that one. That is why I always use an app on my 6s Plus that will allow me to change the ISO and the shutter exposure time to get the best from the camera in lowlight situations. The app is called pro shot. It might help you with the SE.

Hang on I though you had a dislike for 3rd party apps that are not native (ie out of the box) or is this only when you want to reiterate the point of Apple support for calls/messages across their devices, that we are all aware of. The last time I looked the Appstore was 99.9% 3rd party apps.

Try Cortana on your Ipad it may give you missed call notifications it does with Android to Windows PC's plus sms sending

All my kids turned off the call answering features etc on their MAC's both from a annoyance and embarrassment POV, personally I do not see it as a must have, but each to their own.

I tried SideSynch but I found it a bit to active for a background program that I would rarely use.

When pushbullet was still free it was the best imo (it still is,just isn't worth the cost to me). I'm the same with airdroid, only enable it when I want to use it

Still no Samsung Pay on the international version? Damn, that is a bummer. I think the avg American using it will miss out on Samsung's wicked promos. I got Call of Duty for the Xbox One for free due to a $30 Best Buy gift card and a free wireless charger.

Two things. I want native solutions. I do not want to tinker to get some third party app to work. Second, I want it to work on my iPad too. Is SideSync available for the iPad?

SideSync is not a third party app, it's made by Samsung. Second of all, side sync is not available for iPad but is available for Samsung's own tablets.

I think it's illogical to take two vastly different ecosystems and expect to have the same cohesive experience you can get with one sole ecosystem. You can't sit on two chairs at once and you either have the best of one or a mediocre experience with both.

In Samsung's case, they were more than fair to offer the functionality with other ecosystems while Apple on the other hand wasn't that open. I don't blame them as you need to keep various aspects of your features exclusive.

Unfortunately, most will have to wait until Samsung Pay officially launches in markets like the UK (rumored to launch in May). They just launched Samsung Pay in China a couple days ago.

Does anyone know how can I flash my country firmware on my S7?

I've tried smart switch but it's not showing anything under recovery menu. Sammobile doesn't have my country specific firmware although there are few with same build number. If I installed firmware not from my country, I'm afraid my native language is not available.

I have rooted the device and planning to go back to unroot state now.

Decided to go pick up an S7 Edge today but could not find one in stock around me and I checked 3 malls and probably 10 or more stores.

I still have some doubts regarding camera quality mainly because I find it hard to believe that it can be an improvement over the S6's shooter which was phenomenal in my opinion. I'm also still worried about Reception as the S6 wasn't the best in that regard and would hope the S7E is improved.

Since all the screen protectors seem to suck, I'm going to have to look into picking up an insurance policy and going without a screen protector. Anybody have any issues with scratching the naked screen?

I'm going to keep checking and hopefully some stock will pop up soon.

What language ?

Smart switch won't work to recover because you are rooted. Indeed after tripping Knox you'll likely not be able to use any official Samsung method.

Which leaves only 1 option. You will have to manually flash the firmware via ODIN 3.10.7

If you flash an unbranded firmware from the region (even the next country to you) it will likely have the language support, but I would suggest you pop over to XDA and see if someone with the same language will be able to confirm which firmwares support it.

Yes, I got two micro scratches on my device very quickly despite babying the device. Essentially if you are anywhere in a sandy environment or exposed to sand/grit - that's the main culprit to watch out for.

Gorilla Glass 4 may be able to survive keys, knives and whatever else, but it's the smallest inconspicuous little sand and grit particles rubbing against the screen that cause damage.

If your in the city or an urban environment you may be fine. If your on the coast and exposed regularly to beaches, then use a screen protector and great caution.

Bahasa Indonesia.

I've asked the question on XDA and GalaxyS7 reddit sub and still waiting for answers.

So, if I install firmware from other country with the same build number, my device will be unrooted. Can I them run recovery through smart switch?

Also, will I be getting updates if I flashed firmware not for my country?

There are two parts to this answer. If you flash an official firmware from another country, as long as its the same model then you will be able to run that firmware without trouble. However an initial flash often doesn't change the CSC code of your device, it often takes you to after initial booting of new firmware, go into recovery, wipe cache partition and then do a factory reset / restore once more.

Forcing it to re-do a factory restore and wiping cache partition will align the firmware you are flashing and the CSC (the country identifier) together.

If they are aligned then you will be able to restore in smart switch in future, BUT ... it will of course be of that new firmware country that will be restored.

IF CSC and firmware are not aligned, then you likely wont be able to restore in smart switch and OTA updates may not work.

If you want your original country firmware and CSC - the only recourse is to wait until its available. Do you know what the CSC of your device currently is ?

Download "phone info for samsung" from the google play store and run it to confirm what CSC your device currently has please and post it here.

Thanks for your helpful reply.

My CSC code is XID, which is not yet available in sammobile and samsung-updates.

So my best bet is to try one of those firmware file?

I'm hesitant to just say yes, because whilst the firmware will work on the G930F - the issue is it may not have Indonesian as an option for language support, and then you wouldn't be able to flash back to get it as it's not available anywhere yet ...

Been rocking the phone naked since day one. Sans screen protector. So far fine.

As for the camera, day time photos are only marginally improved. Auto focus is the big gain here over the s6. It's faster. And of course, low light is a big improvement.

Edit: I see MRU's post. I live in a city.

Anyone having this problem with their S7e? The sample size might be too small for people to have had this problem, but on Android Central the thread is getting longer.

Only after a reboot.

I have the Samsung pro+ if that helps. The black one with u3 and speed class 10 or something. 128gb.

Okay, so I finally flashed same build number firmware as mine and there is Bahasa Indonesia language. I tried a few root checker program and it shows that I don't have root access. But when I open file manager using root browser or ez file manager, I can still see etc folder and host file. Is that a normal behavior?

That's normal. Seeing them is not the same as being able to change them.

How is the s view case?

I've been rocking this pouch from Etsy. Gotta say again, it's terrific.

Completely naked phone. Not even screen protector. Pouch is helpful when I need it.
