:( Not really happy with the battery on my S7 ... I see it drop from 100 to 95 in a matter of minutes with no usage ( the Note 5 stays at 100 in comparison, both devices set up exactly the same ) Barely get ~3hrs SOT vs 5+ on the Note 5

Did the battery reset, cleared cache, etc... all in vain. All updates current. Even did a hard reset and did not restore from backup!

Also, the device seems laggy after a restart, compared to a very smooth experience on the Note.

Running Nova Prime on both, and same apps, same settings etc.. Not sure what could be causing this excessive battery drain on the S7.
Wow you might have a bad device. My S7 edge kills my N5 in battery life.....it rivals my 6s+. What you're experiencing is not normal from my experiences and from all the reviews

S7 or S7 edge?

I tried out the S7 for about a week but unfortunately had to return it. Some of the reasons:
- Bluetooth connection problems (Momentum Wireless would drop out frequently despite working perfectly with the 6S, Air 2, Surface Pro 3 and PSVita)
- Audio crackling (the toggle UHQ on/off 'fix' didn't work)
- Web browsing not as smooth as on 6S
- App quality not as high as on iOS (e.g. a popular TV app simply didn't work because of a missing software component, Spotify still has the old hamburger menu, etc.)
- Disappointing battery life

Easily the best battery life since I got my S7 edge. This included watching the joke of a football match on it yesterday

That is great battery life! I'll bet you have the Exynos model as well. You seem to be a power user from looking at all of the notifications you have open right too! :)

yeah it' mainly a lot of twitter notifications for alerts for sport, tech e.t.c. It's weird though as normally on average i only get about 4-5 hours on screen time. It seems watching a full sports game or film doesn't really hurt the battery like that much. Think for a full film it only loses about 15-20%

Carriers are such a joke. The T-Mobile S6/S6 Edge got the June patch, yet the S7/S7 Edge don't have it. That's stunningly bad.
[doublepost=1467126751][/doublepost]
So, I guess Tmobile is completely dropping the ball on the June security update...?

EDIT: Wow, after posting this, I came across this:

http://www.tmonews.com/2016/06/t-mobile-galaxy-s6-s6-edge-updates-june-security-patches/
T-Mobile Galaxy S6, S6 edge updates include June security patches and more

That's great, but where the heck is the security patch for the S7/Edge?

T-Mobile is a joke now. I think next time I get a Galaxy, I should wait for the Exynos international version?

And so the honeymoon is over right on time as usual.........

Going international has compromises (no carrier features (VoLTE, wifi calling, etc) and no Samsung Pay). You guys just need an unlocked US model that works on all bands. But Samsung knows very few will pay that price. Much easier to just push it through the bowels of the carriers, get some money back to allow them to bloat it. Most people don't care about security or updates. Really is all a joke.

Yep this is all on T-Mobile. Samsung is releasing the updates but TMO is dropping the ball.
You can find the international models on swappa.

I thought the international version had Samsung Pay? Is there an ETA on when it will be available?

I'm going to get the international model. I don't use wifi calling or Samsung pay and no volte will be annoying but I'll gladly exchange that for better battery life and less bloat.

I really don't think it is available in the US without carrier firmware, but that could have changed recently, someone might be able to chime in. Seems over at XDA someone found a way to get it to work with UAE firmware:

Also, International versions have no warranties in the US. I've seen multiple QC issues pop up around the web (but like with any phone) but that should be a consideration.

One of the S7's features that hasn't really been mentioned since the launch is the active white pages integration for incoming calls.

It's something you almost completely forget about until you see it in action.

Today I received a phone call from a strange number which the phone flagged as spam/fraud. I answered the call and sure enough it was one of those random scams going around. It also appears to work with local businesses too as it correctly labeled the number associated with my dental clinic even though they aren't a contact in my phone.

Not worth buying one of those now since I am on the fence for the iPhone 7+/Note 7/Nexus 2016.

I have a UAE S7 and live in UAE and there is no Samsung Pay here, yet :) but it seems if your lucky you can get the UAE firmware to work with USA approved bank cards

It doesn't automatically block the calls but it gives you the option to block that specific number afterwards.

Automatic blocking of spam calls is probably something they could add in a future update but maybe they don't feel 100% confident in their database yet and don't want to risk potentially blocking legitimate calls.
