So sgoul

Should I get another S7? It's in like new condition, but only has Samsung warranty and nothing with T-Mobile. Samsung requires repairs all the time. It's another risk again. Prefer the S7, but I can't find a retailer deal for the S7 below $500.
Is this the MetroPCS S7 you mentioned in another thread? Do they have a warrantee center where they could swap your phone?

If it's a t-mobile phone, they should be able to swap it, I know in the past AT&T has done that for me as long as it's an AT&T phone and under warrantee.

T-Mobile said they couldn't verify the warranty and to go to Samsung for a repair. Metro PCS probably wouldn't even give me a replacement since it's under the umbrella of T-Mobile and didn't even want to give me an unlock code for the S7. I just returned the device to the seller. The seller is required to give me a refund. If he tries to reject the package, he's screwed because I put signature confirmation, insurance, etc. I am set on that, just a matter of time.

If I get another, the S7 will have another possibility of no T-Mobile warranty and I hate how Samsung handles replacements.

Yeah, the only oem that does warrantee right is apple. The others that I've dealt with (Samsung and HTC) have been pretty bad so I always try to go through AT&T if I can, they have been just as responsive as Apple is and I have an AT&T warrantee center about a 30min away from my house and will give me a replacement on the spot. Only down side is its usually a refurbished phone, which I'm fine with after a couple of months with my purchased device, but I just got my S7 and would want it replaced with a new one.

My problem with AT&T was their service center years ago. I switched to them for a couple of months. Had GPS issues with the Note 3. They refused to acknowledge the systemwide issue and replace my device. My phone told me to drive into a lake to find parking when I first fired it up when I pulled to the side of the road.
[doublepost=1470694019][/doublepost]To add, I also asked the seller if they have S7s with T-Mobile warranty at all. If not, I guess OP3 it is. OP has awfully long waiting times on the phone and their Live Chat guys aren't helpful either. My friend ordered his and got it within two to four days. They're saying a week if I order one right now. Online chat says that's wrong.

Yeah, somethings are harder to replicate, I know I'm going to have trouble convincing them about the overheating issue since the phone doesn't shut off and there is no battery drain, but it really feels like it's running much hotter than normal.

For situations like that over the phone has been my go to and never had a problem there. They usually over night the replacement with a return label for your old phone.

T-Mobile would do that, but they can't tell if the phone is valid with their coverage, so I don't blame them for not taking risks. I can get a new S7 for $485, but I can't keep on ordering S7s from people who don't have the reputation necessary. This seller is an eBay Gold one, so they have a reputation to maintain. The $485 person is absolutely risky. I think it's either T-Mobile warranty risk or go with Samsung for $440 in like new condition or just OP3.

Have you tried https://swappa.com/? They're reliable when it comes to used devices.

This is what I want to hear. One of the problems with my Z5 Compact is that battery life is on the wrong side of awesome, it truly is a backwards step from Z3 Compact. I tried to look up a comparison of battery life between Z5C and S7 but couldn't find one, I only found one that compares battery capacity which hardly tells me anything.

Turns out the S7 needs to be on insurance for a T-Mobile warranty exchange? That's what a 611 employee told me. I don't think it's worth an extra $10 a month to get a want out of a device. Is this the case?

Asked for a refund instead. Read about the Samsung repair process and it is not too good. I can see why people love the Apple Customer Service provided and pay the major markups for convenience.

Yeah my repair nightmare saga last year would scare you senseless, I had assumed USA would be better with Samsung stores etc.

No, it's actually bad here too. I have my own as well. So we bought my mom a S6 Edge. It was having some sensor malfunctions and wouldn't stay powered on for more than a minute. We sent it to Samsung. They "voided" the warranty due to "liquid damage." The device was never dropped in water or anything. So I called Samsung when I got the device back, especially when I noticed Superuser was on the device, which never happened before. They said it came rooted to them. How can someone root an unrooted phone after it was shipped to Texas? They didn't budge, so I tried spending time unrooting it or making the phone usable for my mom. It worked for a bit and then like crapped out entirely.

TL:DR Mom's phone had issues, Samsung didn't do anything, and I had to get her a Nexus 5X.

As for me, I sent in a Note 2 I got 2nd hand off Swappa in 2013. I was phone less for a good month or so because of their "warranty repair process." They say it's not 9-11 business days.

In addition, I had to get a refund through Samsung to buy my own device because the S5 had to be replaced so many times. I had to write the Better Business Bureau multiple times and call Samsung for a month straight before they offered a new replacement device, which had issues, and then I had to get a refund after the "one time new replacement." That was back in 2014.

Sitting down and thinking about it, I am not in the position to spend another $500 on a phone or something, so I think I am going to get a phone that's $400 or so and comes in a brand new condition.

As amazing as the S7 is, I kinda regret selling the S7 Edge and not the iPhone 6S Plus then and there because the Edge at least worked and gave me a solid experience outside of accessories and typing issues.

The choices are HTC 10 (free JBL USB Type C headphones that I would sell, but it's too much work and prefer not to do that), ZTE Axon 7, OP3, Nexus 6P, or Moto X (worst device support around these days.)

The Samsung stores here only deal with sales, though the reps are kind enough to troubleshoot your phone if you have problems, but most of the time I know more than they do. The other day when I was looking at the Note 7 one of their reps was telling me it had a higher resolution display then my Note 5.

Mt White S7 arrived today. Haven't had too much time to play yet, i have already flashed it to UK BTU firmware (and thankfully dual sim still works) and have transferred over my apps that were backed up from the S7e, however haven't had too much time to do much else. However I was surprised to find the white Hong Kong model really minimal. Has barely any text on the back or front - just samsung long which almost disappears on the white model.

Feels much better in my hand than the S7e. Will finish setting up email and transfer over some music onto my 64Gb microSD later and report back, but initial impressions are positive :)

I've always thought that the S7 is more consistent looking than the Edge, though each do their own. How do you find it? Do you see yourself going back to bigger phones any time soon? And is the size difference between the regular and the Edge noticeable?

I am preferring the size. To be honest 5.5 down to 5.1 isn't as huge compared to going 5.5 down to 4 for my SE and it was the SE that actually reaffirmed for me that smaller cam have usability benefits. So now I have a 4 / 4.7 inch iPhone and a 5.1 & 5.2" android.

The only thing I miss in the iPhone 6S in particular over the 6S+ is the battery, but to be frank in getting similar battery on my 6S as I do my androids.

Initial impersonal of the S7 seem to indicate I have lost about an hour of SOT overall compared to the S7 edge.

But overall yeah I prefer the non edge model and more over I am preferring these smaller phones though the androids still feel enormous after I have been using the SE for a while.

How do I get the gallery app to look on the SD card for the photos? Photos in the gallery are only ones taken with the phone camera.

In order to view the ones on the SD card I have to go through "my files".

I have photos on my SD card in a folder called 'photos' and a folder called 'wallpaper' and they show in the gallery app with the microSD card symbol on them. Are you viewing 'albums' ?

Got good.lock to work finally as I want it and now have a much more stock drop down notification area.

Didn't realise you could change around the colours so you can end up with a dark notification area.
