I guess you can say I went from a Note 4 to a S7. It's pretty cool. I like how the phone is water resistant, has a memory card and a decent battery. Kinda wish it was user removable but you can't have everything you want.

I went from an iPhone 6 to a 6S+ to the S7 and the S7 is definitely not as snappy as my iPhone, but I don't even notice it anymore. What lag it might have is pretty low on my list of things I dislike about this phone. It's a pretty solid phone I'm enjoying using but it does have some weaknesses.

Compared to all (many) phones I owned before, S7 has the least lag. If it's there at all, I'm really good at ignoring it. Shame I wasn't so good at ignoring it with Z5 Compact or iPhone 5 with software "update".

Have any of you had issues with a screen protector causing issues with touch sensitivity? I've got a Zaggs glass screen protector on mine and I've had problems with the screen responding to touch, especially at the bottom since I've added the screen protector. I'm considering switching to a different brand.

I dont get the obsession with benchmarks and all these tests, for me I dont notice a difference in daily use between different devices regardless of low end or high. The stuff I do on a phone is the same across the board and maybe I just dont notice it but they all feel pretty comparable. For example, I just took my sim out of my Honor 8 a few days ago and have been using a Zmax Pro, I dont notice a difference in my uses. I am not saying there isnt a difference, I just dont notice and I dont imagine the average user would in a lot of instances.

Heck I even have an ipad pro right here and I prefer to use my Toshiba Chromebook and specs wise I would wager the ipad destroys it

I've just went to a store to play with the S7/pixel/iphone. The S7 is the most appealing to me for now. What bugs me is that when I looked at the storage (from within MY FILES), I saw that the SYSTEM FILES section was at 15-16GB, + 4.5GB of applications. I went through the application list, the biggest one was around 330MB. In the end, the S7 32GB ended up having only 10gb left which is bad.

When I compare that to my Note4, I have 7.6gb for SYSTEM and 7.73 for my apps.

Any S7 owner that can compare how much space is left, or how to slim down the system usage? is it related to the 'retail store mode'

Note: I did the data clean up in store (from within MY APPS), it only affected the cache, as expected.

It must have something to do with the In Store Demo.

I've had my S7 Edge for 2months now, and have quite a few apps, games, music, documents and Camera pics plus videos stored in the internal storage and here is where it is

I don't see a system files section. But here is a SS of my stats on my S7 edge. I've had mine since release.

it depends on the OS version, but when I go into Settings, Storage, I have an Internal storage area that I can click on.

The System memory is the storage allocated to the OS. In my version, Used space contains applications, pics, videos and audio files.

if you want your s7 to be like pixel ..
try this new features of nova launcher 5.0

Action Launcher 3 beat Nova to all the Nougat updates ages ago ;) I switched from Nova & Nova Prime to AL3 last year.

I'm using AL3 on both my pixel and honor 8 and the two setups mimic each other really well.

Where AL3 really triumphs over Nova is the fact it supports custom icons from other OEM theme engines. Whether your using a Samsung theme with nice icons or other manufacturers theme engine, AL3 will support those themed icons whereas Nova will revert them back to their stock theme.

To wade in on the 'lag' issue...

So I've had a Pixel for a week, and have been using it side by side with my S7 Edge.

There is no comparison, as far as I'm concerned. The S7 Edge is perfectly fine but the Pixel basically never lags - it is THAT good, fast and fluid. Seriously. It's night and day. It beats the iPhone 7, too.

Now the S7 is far better than TouchWiz used to be - and I'd argue that right now TouchWiz is a lot more user friendly as a PHONE, so Google need to catch up on certain things.

But as far as lag goes, yeah the Pixel is streets ahead. Hopefully the final release of Nougat will help but let's face it, they won't get to the Pixel level of fluidity any time soon.

Saying all that, I think the S7 is a better all-round phone than the Pixel - it's just more mature. But the Pixel 2017 should be a must-have. Google are on the right path.

Thinking about getting a S7E. Question is, TMO version form the store or International version from Amazon?
