You know, this could be misunderstood.
LOL!

I bought four glass protectors for S7 so far. One was amazing but so thick I couldn't type through it. One broke when I dropped the phone on the carpet. One broke IN MY POCKET. One is nowhere near the size of the phone and I don't know what they were thinking but maybe AliExpress isn't so awesome after all. So I bought foil instead. From Amazon. From seller with very good feedback. And you know what? Either I managed to scratch the foil somehow or THE BLOODY SCREEN HAS A VERY THIN CRACK.

I swear Samsung recognise my name by now and send me special models, and when I say special I don't mean in a good way.
I have almost given up on Screen Protectors, none seem to sit well at all.

Updated my S7 Edge to Nougat to Nougat today and so far so good :D what gets me is that it is even smoother than it was before, not too much has changed but they have done quite enough, IMO.

Now to see how the battery life goes. :)

Nice. I wonder how it compares to the 3T and Pixel now with performance under Nougat.

I would go with the Pixel as the best Nougat experience, mainly because the Pixel Launcher seems to be the best. That Google Assistant though...

It did do that indeed! But I switched it back to WQHD.

I actually began to notice that in HD1080P the text can be a bit jagged and blocky, in HD720P is even worse, while in WQHD it's very smooth and crisp.

Interesting! good to know. Kind of sneaky of them, but I'm curious how many actually wouldn't notice?

Doubt most would notice, I do tend to be a bit OCD when it comes to these things and am unfortunate enough to pick them up, lol.

Everything looked great in HD1080P, BUT THE more blogs, forums, WhatsApps etc... I read the more I kept noticing something a bit off with the font and some images.

Loving my S7 Edge on Nougat, it's like I got a new Samsung phone, lol, I'm just loving all the new little touches especially in the Notifications area, Google have a fantastic job here and then Samsung came in with their Device Maintenance options and have knocked the whole Power Management side of things out the park, such a great job all-round :D

It's TouchWiz that's a tad smoother with some nice new touches really.

I'll be honest, if you didn't like TouchWiz before you won't like it in Nougat either, but for those if who do, it's nice welcome changes that Samsung have made.

Interesting thank you for that. I've been going round in circles with what phone to buy, i haven't experienced Touchwiz for any prolonged interaction since my 2014 note 10.1 running KitKat and what ever version TouchWiz that was.

No pun ect but i'm edging close to the S7 edge as i've seen the 128GB Black Onyx for slightly cheaper than the Huawei Mate Pro and over £100 cheaper Pixel XL.

Admittedly it was the weakest skin i've used. i've always preferred Stock, Sense, Xperia and skins close to stock like Nvidia's. Other than bloat, my biggest problems were the green on blue monstrosity and settings being a giant cluster**** which i'm glad Samsung decided to rethink on both fronts.

The capacitive buttons are really the only thing i'm hung up on but i heard there's an app which can alter its behaviour.

Still getting great battery life on my Exynos S7 Edge. I'm also still waiting for Nougat, itching to see if battery life is improved.

Took the plunge on a Black Pearl 128GB S7 Edge, it looks absolutely stunning and gives me best value for money. S8 is just round the corner but if the recent rumours are true e.g. price, smaller battery, incremental camera improvement and same RAM then i imagine, other than the design, the new Exynos chip and digital assistant being the biggest differentiators between the generations.

Alphabetical ordering works properly / automatically now! That's like a super big win, though I'm not sure if this worked with some of the more recent MM updates.

Wait, they removed the A-Z filter option in the app drawer? Idk why the S6 onwards had that crap? It was so dumb to do that because it was probably Samsung trying to be like Apple. Right now, my iPad Mini 4 is so disorganized because it's done by app download. My iPhone 7+ has everything in folders on one screen unless if it's a major iOS native app like Maps or Mail.

I wouldn't be too worried about Bigsby tbh. It's going to be first gen offering, so it will have numerous flaws. We can't expect Samsung to do well in the software department because they architected S-Voice. Samsung Pay was hacked before as well. Touchwiz is still having the sweep under the rug effect MRU described before. It's ironic how Tizen is doing in terms of resource efficiency vs our TW Android stock ROMs. If Samsung built TW from the ground up again between the S7 release and now, imagine how good it can be? People are saying TW Nougat is good right now, but imagine if they made it even more leaner than we can reasonably anticipate?

Idk if the battery will be smaller because they might need bigger ones for a 6.2" display (that seems to be the Plus model.) There isn't going to be a flat design anymore because the Note 7 released with dual edge screens with better ergonomics.

It's hard to improve such a tremendous camera as it is, but it will be better, but it depends how much you value smartphone photography and video capture.

RAM, sadly will be 4GB for the entry level, which makes me sad because I wanted 6GB for the TW rug sweeping. The OP3's 6GB makes app refreshing a lot more smoother post-update. Similar design, yep. But it will less bezel, include that rear FP scanner/front facing Iris scanner. New Exynos chip isn't going to make your phone obsolete.

Don't forget that your screen won't be the best in class anymore since Samsung will put an HDR QHD screen out at the very least. I am not too sure about any hidden features that we might not expect here.

The difference between the S6 and S7 was more of a polish than a S5 to S6 jump: IP67 rating, 1GB of RAM more, return to Snapdragon/Exynos splits based off region, dual edged screens on a bigger model, cleaner software with minimized color choices, better screen, slightly slimmer profile, better battery, Always on Display, etc.

If cost is a major factor, then the S7 Edge is a better get. Let me break it down on how it would work for me then let us know if I was close to what you were experiencing? So say if I spent $450 USD on a refurbished S7 Edge or $550 for a new S7 Edge? The S7 Edge prices were about $780 at release. So let's say it increases to $850 because of more memory (64gb/6gb RAM) along with a bigger screen? Is that $300 USD + taxes going to be worth the additional 2GB of RAM, better camera, slightly improved Nougat Grace UX rom, Iris Scanner, bigger screen with HDR, less bezels, rear FP scanner that's probably likely to be always on like, expanded privacy features, USB Type C connector, Bigsby, and a desktop mode?

Chances are probably not because let's face it, the latest and greatest has piqued into jazzing up stuff and it not making a huge difference. $300 extra could mean more renovations to a house, a nice gift for a family member, a small vacation within your geographical area, paying some additional bills faster, investing into a few shares of stock or in safer money market accounts, etc. Hope you enjoy your new purchase!

It's still there. But now it's "stickied" in the sense that even new downloads are alphabatized. Before, you had to repeat the process to reorganize the app drawer since any new apps downloaded would be on the last page.

Okay, that's what Samsung needed to do and it's about damn time lol. Thanks for the clarification.

Just for clarification .. A-Z sorting is also dependent on the ROM/Firmware. Some regional versions whether carrier or SIM free can either have or not have the option. There is no universal support, it's still a case of luck dependent.

For the life of me I'll never understand why carriers do this. I can understand trying to push customers to use their own in-house services (I still don't have access to Samsung Cloud, even though it's installed somewhere on my device!), but silly things like non-service options being removed is something I can't stand Android for allowing. At least Apple does this right. An Apple device will have everything on it, regardless of where it's purchased (with a few legal exceptions, like the camera shutter noise being an option that can be turned off).
