T-Mobile has released the Nougat update both for phones running the beta and those running MM.

I just upgraded my Beta S7 Edge and my Marshmallow S7 Edge.

Nothing for my US unlocked S7 Edge.

Yeah Samsung's rollouts are beyond baffling. Folks are always quick to assign blame to the carriers and yet in my experience I have always bought unlocked devices and used clean stock unbranded Samsung firmware and have often been in the position of watching carrier handsets receive OS updates weeks and sometimes months before the unbranded (sold by Samsung direct) version receives the same update. So it's not 'the carriers', it's just the frustrating way Samsung and others do Android rollouts.

Now arguably you could say that an OS update on a Samsung device brings less new additions to the table than a stock device and therefore isn't as 'important'. But nether-the-less it's still something that desperately needs to improve by OEM's outside of Google & Apple directly.

T-Mobile NL is still mulling over the update. But my Tab A6 got an update yesterday!!!!!!!

...from 6.0.1 with July 2016 security patches to 6.0.1 with January 2017 ones.

As much as I like my S7 Edge, these rollouts are so infuriatingly and also irresponsibly (eligible phones don't get security updates that require a newer OS they haven't got yet) slow, that it's getting hard to justify spending almost iPhone money on them when considering that the iPhone money buys you 4-5 years of guaranteed and instant (none of this staged rollout BS) software support.

Here in NL Samsung drops prices as time passes (unlike a certain company that rhymes with Grapple). So I paid 429 euro for the S7. Still, yes, while I much prefer Android to iOS the way it is (or rather isn't) rolled out drives me bonkers.

Got Nougat on my S7 edge today on T-Mobile :)
It has the February security update which is nice. Wish it was 7.1.1 though.

Nice :) Mine is still on January updates, I hope they'll arrive normally with OTA. Even though I got Nougat with OTA, I'd still like to see also security updates coming through before I completely finish setting up everything.

The camera never disappoints.

Snap after snap is damn near perfection.

Reminds me of the Nokia N82 back in the Symbian days, that phone felt like it could take no bad image, and the S7 Edge gives that same feeling.

The S8 is going to have to be incredible for me to ditch the S7.

Has there ever been a phone with so few compromises?
The Note 7 R.I.P

Other than that, none.

I still pick my S7 Edge up, look and wonder how they fit all they did in, plus a huge battery and made such a slim and curved device, it's mind boggling.

I never owned a phone worse than S3.
I also never owned a phone better than S7. I love it more than some members of my family. (Don't judge me. My family is somewhat dysfunctional. This phone is very functional ;) )

The S3 was pure crap and I'm upset I traded in my iPhone 5 for that thinking it was something more exciting and better.

I made exactly the same mistake. I thought "it's a great phone judging by reviews and it's cheaper too". Boycotted Samsung after that until my brother got the S7 and just wouldn't shut up about how great it was. The fact that Xperia Z5 Compact was rather bad – felt like a downgrade from Z3 Compact – helped to change my mind, and I don't regret anything... except not getting S7 edge.

The Secure Folder app is now available to download at Sammobile. It was introduced on the Note 7. Used it all the time with the iris scanner. You need to be updated to Nougat to install it. Well that being said, when you open the app you see this image in the tutorial. I think it's safe to say that image is most likely the S8.

Finally got it yesterday for S7 Edge - it's nice! Takes a bit of getting used to but generally very happy with it.

same here....Nougat is really nice on the S7e....battery life is better too :)

Well, I'm not surprised since the default screen setting has now dropped to FHD.

It's a bit surprising but think it makes sense for most people. I sat and went through every single Settings option for an hour, couple of nice little treats but otherwise generally business as usual.

Samsung are getting better with TouchWiz for sure. It's obviously no Pixel in that respect, but the S7 range really is the most well-round Android phone experience there is. I hope they keep refining it further.

Man, T-Mobile has a killer sale: $360 for a brand new S7 and S7 Edge today only. Can be combined with their "tax free" credit promo too. Do I take that or go with the S8? Head says take the S7 for cheaper price while heart says wait for S8 even though it would be more pricey.
