The Apple Store
The design team need to stop testing on their laurels this year in Cupertino and do something that can compete with Samsung (and more).
Agreed. Apple's software team has been resting on their laurels for a while now. Every year they add something cool and useful, but iOS hasn't had major changes or massive improvements in a long time, at least from my perspective.

Links to some good reliable micro SD cards? So no mistakes are made. Preferably on amazon?

Too many fakes even ones shipped and sold by Amazon have been bitten. Best bet is to buy from local Best Buy. #1 would be Samsung Pro+ for SLC endurance and write performance (128GB fluctuate between $99 and $200 so catch it at right time) and #2 Samsung EVO+.

This is a great idea.

Buy it from Best Buy, but price match Amazon.

I only purchase any type of storage from Amazon that is fulfilled by Amazon. Easier to return and will most likely not be a fraudulent product.

If you need more than 232gb of storage I don't know what an extra 32gb on board will get you.

You can buy another SD card and is the purpose of them as they are easily swapped out.
The S7 can handle up to 2TB SD cards! Talk about future proofing, considering terabyte SD micro SD cards don't exist for consumers yet.

This good?

Samsung 64GB EVO Plus Class 10 Micro SDXC with Adapter 80mb/s (MB-MC64DA/AM) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01273JZMG/ref=cm_sw_r_other_awd_A5LYwb24YFQ1B

Take MRU's advice. Get the one in the link of his quote, or this Samsung version ....

Re MicroSD & 4K recording.

Class 10 is only the starting point to look for. Class 10/1 is vastly slower than a Class 10/3

So it's the second digit you want to pay attention too.

Some OEM's will label faster cards as x666 or X1000 with each being sequentially faster.

Re : the Amazon link posted.

Sandisk ULTRA has a maximum read speed of 90mb (in testing is often around 40-45) but a write speed averages only around 15-20mb. This is a Class 10/1 card and why it's substantially cheaper than Sandisks pro cards.

Sandisk Extreme Plus and Extreme Pro are the faster Class 10/3+ cards. With Extreme Pro being their fastest X1000 speed card.

You won't get the faster extreme pro or plus in 200gb but here's the 64gb version

http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00NU...200_QL40&keywords=sandisk+extreme+pro+micro+s

These extreme plus and pro versions in my testing allow much more 4K recording without device overheating. Can shoot 3 times the length on my Z5 with one of the faster cards than with internal storage or slower micro SD. Likewise our professional Sony pro cams we only use x666 or x1000 (class 10/3) cards.

Always on display sounding kind of cool. If it works as well as it claims.

"... the big new software trick is the Always-On Display, which permanently shows a clock with notifications, a calendar, or an image on the S7’s screen. It is not a motion activated display, like Motorola’s Active Display or Google’s ambient display, but remains on all the time. Samsung says the features only consumes half a percent of battery per hour in its tests, and if the proximity sensor is covered, as when the phone is in a bag or pocket, the screen will shut off."

-The Verge.
The Verge is wrong (surprise!) The display is not always on. They even explained this during the on stage presentation. The display goes off if the proximity sensor is activated. So, the screen is off in your pocket, when face down, against your cheek, etc... iVerge staff are complete morons.

The edge is really not that much bigger than the s7 regular.

And don't forget the s7 regular is slightly shorter and less wide than the current s6 regular.

Which to me means the difference between the s6 regular and the s7 edge is even more negligible.

S7 vs s7 edge:

Don't know if you're in the US but you get this for free along with Gear VR if you pre-order from Best Buy.

Yeah that's not a bad deal. But no Tmobile or unlocked versions this early :(

Unless I'm mistaken?

I'd like to go with the S7 and try and get by with something smaller than my last go rounds.

Dunno folks, not sure it is going to get much better than this with other flagships upcoming. We got nice sizes and designs, good battery sizes, great displays, waterproof, dustproof, SD slot, etc etc. I would like to hear about the speaker quality and if there is any vibration to the device.

Home run? If not, then a very very solid triple. And I don't think we will be disappointed with the performance of these babies!

The only phone I see that will be able to measure up / compete with the s7 is the Nexus 2016. Maybe Lenovo?

I don't have have high hopes for iPhone 7. Main reason is because Apple as per usual Apple likes to hold back features.

Forgot to mention but I'm pretty sure I saw in a hands on video that the "always on" function can be disabled in one of the settings. Right?

Should probably read the entire quote next time Lloyd. ;)

Samsung Galaxy S7/S7e is like HTC One M8 in 2014. Their predecessors brought the most design innovations. I still prefer the M7 design over M8 and M9. And I think S6e is fresher than S7e. What Samsung did for 2016 was correct the flaws that were brought last year by the S6/S6e.

- Bigger battery (3600 mAh for edge, yay!)
- Micro-sd slot (yay, again!)
- Waterproofing (triple yay!)

Samsung came up a better phone for consumers that only like simple things like design, camera, and battery life. LG made the better geek/niche phone. Again, what M8 is to M7 is similar to S7 is to S6. Doesn't lose points in design and gains mostly everything else except a few things.
