Congrats to all the pre orders!

How goes jump on tmo work exactly? You pay a monthly fee and then when the time comes you can trade in your current phone for a reduced upgrade?

Does this mean the phone has to be paid off already if you're on an EIP plan? Also, when can you get jump? I can't imagine I can start jump now and get a new s7?
So there are two jump services. Jump on Demand (JoD) and Jump. JoD you pay $10 a month extra and you get three jumps or exchanges. You just bring in your undamaged phone with the box and all accessories and trade to another phone. I know the reps in my local TMO store and talk and chat with them all the time. I'm only supposed to have 3 jumps in 12 months...but I have jumped 6 times so far. They really don't seem to care.
The other Jump program works pretty much the same except you have to pay off a certain amount of the phone before you can jump to anther one.

It's like leasing with the option to buy. You have to pay a certain amount over the months to JUMP to another device, then they give you a certain amount of time to give back the phone you previously had. I have up to 3/28 to return my S6 edge.

Then there is Jump OnDemand, you have the option to trade in 3 times a year at anytime.

You can join anytime as long as you are clear of any phone payments.

Also JUMP is an excellent insurance. I cracked my S6 edge screen and was sent a new s6 edge the next day. You get two times to claim on a device.

Hearthstone took awhile to open but I am not in any hurry and was happy from what I saw in her video.

Battery life would be a concern as well as any heat issues and I want to see color reproduction when I try a demo on display.

If I can go an hour or longer on the Gear VR without the overheating warning poping up, I'll be very happy.

Sounds fine to me. I switch between 4-5 apps on my daily commute when I'm using my phone the most. Probably some combination of Hangouts, Gmail, Flipboard, Chrome, and music/gaming. I have had no issues so far with my S6.

I think the S7/Edge with 4GB and an even smoother TW will have no problems for my daily usage.

Looking forward to MRU's feedback on RAM management for more aggressive/power users.

I am so so so so so so (yes, so.... ) tempted to put down a pre-order on Amazon.de (€799 including shipping) for an Edge. Must resist temptation and wait for reviews ... must resist, but faltering ....

You're not alone. I was just on the phone with TMO and something told me to wait but, I continued anyways with the pre order process; then, the rep told me I would have to have it shipped to my house and pay shipping cost. Right then, I decided to cancel the pre order. I'm going to give it a little more thought and maybe go to a store to pre order instead.

A very small part of me wants to go back to the pure android experience with the 6P.
[doublepost=1456241364][/doublepost]Do you get the VR kit as soon as you order the phone or does Samsung ship it to you?

Can't go wrong with the 6P that's for sure. The rep I talked to gave me free overnight shipping to my house. I think they are all different and you might be able to get free shipping if you ask.

I guess I'll try again during lunch, maybe I'll get lucky this time around.

I'm going to have to swing by Tmobile and ask about Jump. I think it's too late for me. Seems like I should've gotten Jump when I got my S6.

So, the consensus is that Jump is pretty worthwhile? You pay $10 bucks a month to upgrade and for insurance. I haven't done the math, but that works out to being a good deal?

Are you also paying off the phone via EIP with Jump? So it's $25 or whatever for the phone payments, plus $10 for Jump?

So you are paying $35-$45/mo for a phone payment with Jump on Demand? Or, $420 to $540 per year. That's insane.

And I want to check audio quality, both onboard speaker and with earphones and most importantly any vibration to the device.

I am using the forum to post what I want to try because when I actually get one in hand I know I will forget something. :)

Only if you keep the phone. I jumped 6 times already so I could try different phones. It is waaaay cheaper than buying them outright and then losing money on the resale.

Jump is an outdated plan that was designed to upgrade once or twice a year at most. It is an insurance plan and Lookout premium plan bundled too. You pay $10 a month in addition to an EIP. So once you're eligible you trade the device in and start from scratch. The Jump on Demand is more in tune for upgrades since you may a nominal charge per month and then trade it in and then just pay more nominal fees from scratch whenever you want to upgrade to a new phone.

Many probably got clobbered buying the Nexus 6 outright, the Iphones at least hold their value better. I will look into JOD.

As a iPhone user their is only one question left......touchwiz? It will either make or break an otherwise beautiful constructed device.
I'm an iPhone fan who has used used every galaxy going back to SII. I never quite understood all of the angst that TW seems to cause people. I know using a Nexus 5X and miss TW. Stock Android is way to plain and boring for me. I actually think Touchwiz is 10x better than it used to be.

LOL, this isn't near as true as it used to be. iPhones are a dime a dozen these days.

The JUMP on demand include the insurance?

Most JoD monthly deals are like $24 a month for a new flagship, some even $19 for the lower end phones, that's what I got on my Note 5, $24/Month and I got the N5 second week after it came out. Was $0 money down.

You can swap to a brand new phone 3 times in 18 months, so basically a new phone every six months.

Not your fault. Anyone who bought the nexus 6 got overcharged. The phone was overpriced from the start. That's why the 6P is a little more reasonable. But those nexus devices lose value quick. In 3 months the 5X might be $200. $350 for the 6P perhaps.

Just as quick as the Samsung or any other Android device. If the 6P is $500 at release, and say you are right in 3 more months (8 months after release) it will cost $350, that is 30% price drop. Not a massive loss in value though. Not sure I buy that it will be on the Google store for that price, but perhaps a Amazon flash sale to clear inventory from time to time. That permanent price drop will happen holidays this year likely.

The galaxy S6 was $700 at release right? Then it dropped to $500 about 8 months after release? Same exact drop in value.

I think all Android phones in general do not hold their price points. iPhones are starting get to the same spot but they do hold their price a little better.

Well that's retail pricing. Imagine what the prices will be for second hand units. I didn't really use exact figures, more like ballparks to explain price drops. The Nexus 5X went from $429 to $349 in like a month after release. It might actually be worth $200 soon since it hit $299 recently.
