It's working on my iPhone, still haven't got my unlock code for my Note, but I'll test it when I do. Probably won't since it has the AT&T firmware, might have to wait for the marshmallow update, but we'll see.

Yeah, not sure what to do yet. Just got a sim with t-mo service that I'll use this week to test. Pricing is about the same, but on t-mo I would have unlimited data and one line on JoD. Not sure if it's worth it though, would have to unlock and port 10 devices plus 5 backup devices.

I don't know where people see Tmobile as being cheaper, they are more for what I'm looking for. 2 lines with 15gb shared is $130 at ATT. 2 lines with 10gb shared is $140 at Tmo. For true unlimited 2 lines at Tmo is $170 which isn't bad, I just don't need that much data. Even Verizon is cheaper. What am I missing with Tmobile? The audio/video free streaming sounds nice, but it doesn't include youtube.

That's not what I'm seeing.

Hmm, I can't get that amount.

Edit: Oh I see, I think you are on the "unlimited" plans, which aren't really unlimited. After I think 4gb of LTE they cut you down to unlimited 2g or 3g, so in essence they are really only 4gb plans. Although that's not cut and dry as you get the audio/video free streaming.

I know what the folks getting their devices today will be doing the rest of the day. They have their priorities in order as far as I am concerned!

Enjoy.

Doc...do you see this advert on the home screen?

Select it, choose only 2 lines and you should see what Fernandez's image showed...unless for some reason it's just not available in your market.

OK I see it now, nice $120 for unlimited. I wish they had an offer for 10gb though as I don't need that much data. $90 for 2 lines with 10gb shared would be right up my alley. Interesting though, they have 4 lines with 10gb shared for $120, maybe if I have another kid.

what are the +++ taxes and fees like for $120 unlimited 2 lines?

$10-$15?

never been on tmobile but att postpaid is at least that much

so ~130-135 unlimited tmobile 2 lines

vs

$86 (no +++) Att gophone 2 lines w/ autopay discount

2 gigs per line

hmmm

other problem is my wife does not have a band 12 iphone (6S & + only)

yea spinedoc the only problem with your wife's iphone 6 att unlocked on tmobile is that the iphone 6 in general does not have band 12

Lucky new owner in Finland puts out an unboxing video. Nice touch that Samsung included an OTG USB adapter (at 2:29 in video) for Smart Switch, migrating from iOS, connecting Sony joystick, flash media, etc. And, the box is black so hopefully no more petty posts about how Apple borrowed the white box from generic supermarket boxed items.

Also, like how Samsung listened to customers wanting a big screen but not necessarily a frankenstein sized phone.

Yeah Gophone is pretty amazing for pricing, I would use them if I didn't need the microcell at home which requires a full ATT account. Does iPhone wifi calling work on Gophone?

I'm still not seeing the Tmobile plans be that much cheaper, unless you have a distinct need for truly unlimited data. It's tempting to get one of these and just use it for my home wifi, although I'm sure that's against the TOS. Heck I can save another 100 bucks if I disconnect my home cable internet.

Never knew that about the microcell requiring postpaid

I can confirm WiFi calling does not work on ios with gophone. Allows me to attempt then says some not allowed message

baha I've always dreamed of dumping my landline internet, but never pulled the trigger, even when I had att unlimited :p

Maybe I'll give Tmobile a shot, it's been about a year and maybe they've improved. What do you guys suggest in terms of my existing phones? I have my wife's iPhone 6 and my Note 5, both AT&T models and paid for fully. For it to be worth it to go to Tmobile they would have to take both of my phones and give me new Tmobile variants WITHOUT a payment plan. Would they do this? Or just give me a couple hundred trade in? I'd be surprised if they are willing to pay $650 to let you break a contract, but they won't do it if you aren't in a contract or payment plan.

I'm kind of irked at no expandable memory on my Note 5 and was thinking the S7 edge might be nice until the Note 6 comes out. I've encountered some things which require external memory these past few days.

This is wildly unethical, but we are talking about cell phone companies here. The most value you can derive from switching is to unlock your current phones, and then go down to att and sign up for 2 new phones on contract. Then purchase 2 crap phones on the second hand market take those to T-Mobile and sign up for service. They will buy out your contract, you are now free to sell the 2 phones that are on contract for market value. If you order 2 s7 edge from att you should end up profiting a few $100.

At&t doesn't have contract pricing anymore.

Would this work with AT&T next?

The size of the Edge is a huge reason why I'm opting for it this year. The gains you get for the minimal size increase (coming from an S6 regular) is amazing. Once I handled it and knew one handed use was attainable, it was an easy decision.

-5.1" standard screen to a 5.5" edge screen.
-3000 mah battery to 3600 mah.
-Edge features that seem more useful this year and are highly customizable.

All these gains in a package that's not much bigger than the standard S6 or S7.

That extra ~$100 upgrade cost to go with the Edge variant this year feels like a far better value, too, compared to last year between the S6 and S6 Edge when all the difference was just the edge screen and maybe a tiny 50mah increase in battery life (or whatever it was).

The S7 Edge is an easy win this year between the two.

Hypothetically speaking, the phone doesn't have to be any particular phone or the one you signed up the Next plan with?

EDIT: "The customer will need to trade in an eligible smartphone or tablet"

It's almost perfect. I wish it had a stylus, I'd be all over it. It sucks to be a slave to the Note series stylus, but that's what I am.

I have to say the Silver Galaxy S7 edge looks incredible. Will they ever launch it in Europe?

Yep seen one today for the 1st time was surprised how compact the S7E was. I hoping to have a minimalist home screen and everything on the edge feature especially as you can have quite a few, I thought initially it was just 3 or 4

So stuff waiting for the Dual Sim got the Unlocked International Silver Edge on order now :)

It's here! A few pics while i get my apps installed. The S7 Edge makes my Note 5 look huge.....
I don't like how flimsy the SD Card SIM card tray is. It took me 3 trys to get both in the phone correctly.

The z5's sim card tray is very flimsy too. Quite understated packaging from Samsung this year.

Strange. I haven't been a fan of TouchWiz (quite the opposite, actually) earlier on, but now that Samsung has toned down TouchWiz to a reportedly tolerable level and coupled that with amazing hardware, I kind of want one. Couldn't see this coming a couple of years ago.

The fact they now support theming - so you can get a materialistic / stock look really helps too as the default stock icons are really quite ugly imho.

Actually folks with them. Can you check the likes of Material Dark theme is still compatible with the S7 Edge

I hear ya, I swore off Samsung too after my experience with the Note 3, but there was enough that intrigued me that when the came out with Lollipop for the Note 4 I picked one up and they have been getting better ever since.

I think the criticism they got for the S5 really lit a fire under them and have gotten much better since then.

Perhaps toned down (haven't been on Touchwiz since the Note 2) but still pretty funky. At least there seem to be skins to deal with it:
