I don't know if you guys heard but starting Friday it will be BOGO free on s7 on T-Mobile.

m.pocketnow.com/2016/03/07/bogo-galaxy-s7

I called customer service and they said that guys with their phones will most likely need to return them, and buy again. Good news is you can have one phone on JOD, and will be reimbursed for the other. You need to activate a new line of service. I am covered since I have a extra sim I just turned on, but doing T-Mobile is no contract so, you could probably just cancel after a few months and get a second S7 for peanuts.

This is going to lead to me being absolutely ridiculous and owning a G5 6s+ and S7e simultaneously for only $32 per month lol.

Oooo, this sounds much better than the vr promo I missed out on. Now, should I get both the regular and edge version, or should I get the edge with a t-mo note 5 which will give me wifi calling (something my AT&T version doesn't have) and is root able? Or maybe something else, my wife has been eyeing my iPhone 6S plus, maybe I get her one of those.

Qualcomm back on the right track with the Snapdragon 820 after the problematic 810 last year. But Exynos doesn't look much of an improvement this year. Still, it is only March. Expect some power gains with the A10 on the iPhone 7, Note 6, and Nexus line later in the year. Samsung Galaxy S7/S7 edge is only their flagship for the first half of the year but probably at its very best right now compared to year's past being sexier, more compact, and water-resistant which would still hold up well versus the Note 6.

Phone has arrived but no VR - not happy

Likewise matey .... :(. We've been screwed.

Not opened mine yet. On hold waiting to find out what the excuse is.
[doublepost=1457443960][/doublepost]There may be hope (for me anyway)

CPW have said it's going to be delivered tomorrow. He seemed pretty sure that they screwed up and it will be with me tomorrow.

I'm so tempted to pick one up Friday. I'm waiting on you @MRU for your opinion on how it runs when powered by the exynos

So far initial impressions are generally positive, there was some lag during initial setup but after apps have been installed it seems to be smooth now.

Not a fan of the white notification shade - so I downloaded Material Dark theme and then applied Action Launcher 3 just to match my other devices.

Will put it through its paces properly over next couple of days. :)

The verge review is up.

Disappointed they didn't separate the reviews but I think this is a testament to Samsung's decision to have a no compromise smaller device.

Cough, Apple.
[doublepost=1457448076][/doublepost]The verge review:

...is paired with 4GB of RAM, and it has no trouble multitasking, gaming, playing video, or any other task I attempted with it. It’s a fast and responsive phone that was ready for anything I needed it to do. And it’s encrypted by default, something that has slowed down other phones in the past.

Reviews are glowing. You typically only see this kind of symmetry among reviewers with the iPhone. Its just a testament to the level of polish in these phones.

Phonearena is the only one to post a bad battery review, but I stopped believing their battery test a long time ago. They are highly inaccurate, touting the S6 has having great battery. Obviously, their test don't reflect real world usage. The battery has been one of the things I am most happy with in this phone.

You done good, we all have. These new Samsung smartphones rock.

The only issue I have come across is the darn AT&T variant not holding a screen mode change but it looks isolated to games.

Enjoy, looking forward to your opinion.

It may seem unlikely, but I wouldn't be surprised if it isn't the result of AT&T bloat or meddling. With t-mobile, they removed some of the features, like whitepage integration. Wouldn't be surprised if AT&T messed it up.

On the software side, Samsung’s TouchWiz UI continues to be more of the same when compared to the Galaxy Note5. The edge features continue to be somewhat interesting, but I continue to find myself thinking that there would be no difference if the same feature was implemented on the non-edge variant. Thankfully, the lag that I noticed last month in my initial hands-on time with the device seems to just have been a function of pre-release software, as the Galaxy S7 is relatively performant here. Although I’m not sure I’d go as far as to say that the Galaxy S7 is entirely free of lag. I suspect that Samsung has to balance power efficiency and responsiveness to some extent here, as while devices like the Nexus 5 can feel incredibly smooth and responsive there are very real knock-on effects in terms of practical battery life.

That is good to hear.

Time is almost up to get free Samsung wireless charger. Just got to Eventsee message within Samsung Pay app and get the promo code. I just ordered mines today.

What is up with the Verge video review being made against all those annoying neon lights? Can't really see the device.

Yeah, on the Verge the edge scored a 9.1! I don't think any other android device has broken a 9 before. Most headlines elude to these phones being almost perfect.

I got that update as soon as I was doing initial setup. I installed it as I was doing so

My battery was down to 37% after setting up, I just or it on the wireless charger I got (granted is not a fast wireless charger) it stays charging time as 3hrs 23 mins... so plugged it into the normal power adapter quick charge and it says 1hr 8...

Don't see any lag after initial setup, haven't put it through its paces enough to judge multitasking. After going stock for last few months, I had forgot how much I disable on Samsung phones tbh, and can I just say Samsung need to be taken aside and beaten with a large stick for its settings menu. It's a bit of a mess. Everything hidden behind sub menus, making navigation a pain.

Question regarding always on screen features...

Any app out there that mimics what Moto X does? Lights up when you pick up the device and has action-able notifications?

EDIT: Especially tailored to AMOLED screens to conserve battery...

My Verizon gs7 edge has oem unlock in developing settings.did Verizon forget to lock the bootloader?
