I prefer FaceTime, 3D Touch, iMessage, whole 9 yards of security, Front FP sensor, Find Friends(family), ... oh and the 1080p for normal use every day

I switched from my 7 to the s8+ and I loved the screen display.. but that’s about it!

iPhone is my preference. Even with its 1080p the screen is perfect for everyday use to our normal apps.

Thankfully I didn’t sell or trade in my 7 to get the s8+. The phone is too damn big for my liking and as already mentioned, the lack of a home screen button was a no go for me. I gave up on the s8+ after 3.5 days. Returning that overpriced phone this weekend lol

Couldn’t get use to the s8+.

No. I realized fast how much I missed the iPhone. As much as I wanted to give Android a shot for the first time in 5 years, I quickly knew the s8+ wasn’t my preference and the only feature other than the display I liked was adding a background photo to the messages screen. That was nice. I tried setting it up as my iPhone and it wasn’t a smooth experience. Apple Music took forever to load, OK Google was ignoring me lol-

I hated the fact of having to unlock the phone every time just to reply to a message. The stock keyboard was horrible.

Overall, there is a reason I been using the iphone for 5 years and don’t plan leaving anytime soon. Just my experience

I think if you are used to certain platform for a period of time moving to another takes some getting use to.

I am using android as my primary device. Every time I use an iphone I found it to be so lacking in (OS/software) functionalities. Plus full of restrictions that make simple things so complicated to do.

Yeah. I’m going to switch to the Note 8.
Going to try out a large phone for the 1st and a stylus.
This iPhone and Apple all together is finally getting on my nerves.

I agree with this. That level of customization may not me necessary but it’ll definitely be fun.

You can't switch platforms in a week. You never wanted to give that phone a chance. That's confirmation bias to a tee.

I've said it over and over, people shouldn't think moving to a completely different platform after being on a completely closed experience for years, can be done in a few months. I also believe some that say they "tried," are lying all together, and never even bought a S8/S8+ or a Note 8. I'll even go one step further. I'm in the camp that the Note 8 truly doesn't have a competitor. It actually disgusts me that reviewers even compare something like an iPhone 8 to it. What an absolute insult.

Note is a beast. BUT the lag is still there. It is visible while using my everyday apps. The apps are not exotic either. Uber, the phone app, inbox by Google and more. The same apps work great on my iPhone but for some reason lag on the note.

I am surprised others who are using it don't see the lag.

Nevertheless, access to a file system feels great. I loaded a presentation on it , took the Chromecast to office and streamed the ppt to the big tv in the meeting room. Did not have to take my laptop and the hdmi adapter. Awesome!

Maybe comes the lag from touchwiz? Have you tried Nova Launcher? With this launcher I cannot notice lags..

How does Uber and phone app lag? I use it on my Moto and it's smooth as silk. The Note should handle it no problem. Are you talking about lag or stuttering animations?

I think you would have liked the S8 better. Its the same physical size as the iPhone 7, but has a larger display. Similar form factor to the iPhone X, but without the notch. There is a home button if you just push in the spot on the screen it would normally be. Works great. You can also configure it so that it stays on the screen, but I didn't find that necessary.

Ditto... I am not experiencing any noticeable lag on the Note 8. Could be he has loaded some apps that are running in the background and using resources. I keep my recent apps to a minimum.

The home button solution on the s8 and no is brilliant and I wish Apple would have implemented it in the X. Even if you don't see the homebutton, you just know when you press that area it goes back to the home screen.

When I had my note 8 even with the faulty ram issue I had no lag. You want to see real lag? Look at my 7+ on 10.1.1 jailbroken....I experience real lag lol

I never use it and always swipe up for the home button. Which is what I now keep doing on my iPad, which obviously won't work. lol

Same here.

There literally is no Note competitor, let alone Note8 competition.

The iPhone 8 Plus should be compared to a S8+ and the iPhone X should be compared to the regular S8.

The pixel caught my eye and I returned it. But if you mean the note 8 with faulty ram I exchanged it and all was good

Seems to be a lot of note 8 returns in the forum.
How long did you keep it for?

Good luck with the pixel xl 2

So after being underwhelmed by this Apple release, I decided to give Android a go for the first time. Figured I'd splurge on top of the line with the Note 8.

First off, it's an amazing performing phone. But the thing that I couldn't get past is the lack of a home button. I never realized how much I use my phone sitting on my desk or table, and the hover my face over or pickup to use thumb reader on back started getting old fast.

I think this is the same issue many people will have with the iPhone X, but only time will tell.

Guess I'm not ready to give up a muscle memory convenience, so I placed an order for iPhone 8+. I was really looking forward to having emulators with me all the time. O well.

How is the iPhone 8 plus compared to the note 8?
