After long debate i finally decided to buy the Gevey ( i Paid $39,- for it at www.unlockaniphone.org ) and im glad i did! The Sim works perfectly fine with 3G enabled.

Is it genuine Gevey? Could you post a picture of the packaging and SIM itself or compare against these and report any differences?

Here's another comparison (the "fake" one is to the right).

gevey

Actually i dont give a **** if its the real one or not, it WORKS and that is the only thing that matters to me :D

Exactly.

Who cares which is fake or not.

In fact, does it matter? It seems to be the same tool and works the same.

In addition, i do not think that this unlock method would be permanently. Because its obvious that in 2,3 months DevTeam will come with an unlock and ios will be upgraded and patched to solve GEVEY unlock.

If you ask me, I rather prefer this unlock than software unlock. I do not have to jailbreak the phone.

Will one Gevey/Sunsky SIM work with multiple iPhones? Or is it one SIM to one phone?

For those that used Sunsky, how long did it take to receive the DHL tracking number?

it depends, i guess they dont work on weekends so like the website say 2-5 days for them to get your product ready for shipping

Gevey Problem

I finally got my Gevey SIM today and I can't get it to work. I never get a "SIM Welcome screen" and I never get "No SIM" all I get is "No Service". I have reseated the SIM many times. The connections all look good.... What could it be?

It is possible the Gevey SIM is damaged. You should at least get the welcome message. Try cleaning the contacts. I don't know if there is a return policy for the place you got it, but try to exchange it.

Zermelo, thanks. It looks like it was the connections. I cleaned them and I immediately got the welcome screen. The phone works great...:)

Anyone tried the Rebel Sim? http://rebelsimcard.com/

I read around web that it is somewhat superior, that you do not have to redo the steps even after you reboot (possibly also turn it off for extended period of time?):

If you want to know how it is better than Gevey Sim, so here is the best Advantage you have. This SIM is like an Untethered Jailbreak means if you reboot your iPhone so you don’t have to do the procedure again and again. The signals will come up automatically.

Input appreciated. Will order one of them :D

Let us know after you install a rebel sim card. IMO, it's expensive since you can get a Gevey card for about $30 right now.

I got the SIM from Sunsky and it doesn't seem like the sim fits on the tray that they provided....
Also the chip sticks out from the little square space that's modified from the tray so it looks like I'm going to have to cut my sim a bit to fit it too?

you have to cut the sim a little bit to fit into a gevey sim tray, make sure it is flush. You can see the video instructions on www.applenberry.com

Good luck,

That's correct. You need to trim the top a tiny bit to fit your micro sim in. I was lucky to stop by Sunsky office during my trip to China last week. I just want to make sure it works and it's indeed working in my Iphone 4 running 4.3.1 with baseband 04.10.01.

Their SIM card cost is now dropping even more, it is only $16.39 on their website now.

No SIM Welcome Screen

I finally got my Gevey SIM today and I can't get it to work. I never get a "SIM Welcome screen" and I never get "No SIM" all I get is "No Service". I have reseated the SIM many times. The connections all look good.... What could it be?

I have the same problem... plus a couple more. At first when I installed my SIM card with the Gevey interposer and tray, it did work. I saw the SIM Welcome Screen and followed the instructions I found on the internet. And then I got my iPhone to unlock.

BUT, the next day, I got the "No SIM Card" message. So I turned my iPhone off and repeated the whole process. This time, I didn't get the "SIM Welcome Screen" and haven't been able to get it again. So, for me, this Gevey (or Gevey knock-off) doesn't work.

Some notes:

(1) I bought this from MyDalle.com.

(2) It was an extremely tight fit trying to insert the Gevey tray with my SIM card and the Gevey interposer into my iPhone. (I did cut a notch out of my SIM card to make room the small IC chip.) Am I the only person to have experienced this? Perhaps my Gevey was a counterfeit?

(3) My interposer didn't come with an instruction manual. Was my Gevey a fake? The packaging and product looked authentic enough, but it was missing a manual.

If anyone else has experienced this problem, please let me know. And provide a solution if you have any. I plan to return this to MyDalle.

Jerry

I experienced that same problem with the SIM interposer I got from Mydalle.com, it is definitely counterfeit as there's no "Gevey" text or logo on the SIM tray, the welcome screen displayed some Chinese text, the microchip has less pins than the original and its top surface looks sanded down to reduce its height. Mine came with the manual though, and I was able to unlock my phone but I'm wary about its reliability. I would suggest to claim a PayPal refund if you selected that payment method as Mydalle.com is falsely advertising this product as genuine.

The SIM tray has the Gevey logo as does the interposer. They look fairly well made, except the interposer doesn't quite fit in the tray. This is probably why it's a tight fit in my iPhone. Also, the packaging looks authentic. Still, the lack of a manual, the poor fitting of the interposer in the tray, and the simple fact that this kit just doesn't work, all lead me to believe this is a counterfeit. I do plan to file a complaint with PayPal if MyDalle won't give me a refund.

Good luck,

you don't quite get what I said, the I got the SIM to fit fine on top of the interposer as I trimmed it to fit but the gevey itself doesn't fit flush when you seat it on the tray. I got it to go in but it's really tight since when I put it in it was at sort of a slant if you get what I mean.
Nonetheless, it's working.

It seems your problem is more common; Based on Sunsky forum, many users are having issues with gevey sim card tray that won't fit properly in their ip4.
