Gevey WORKS

Alright, so my Gevey SIM came today via USPS.

It was a bit troublesome because I had to cut a bit of the microsim card. After than I popped it in, and followed the procedure. It didn't work, then I followed the steps 2 more times and decided to take out the sim tray and center it again.

After aligning the micro sim to the tray perfectly, I popped it in and followed the steps. It said "searching..." for a long minute and then T-Mobile appeared with 5 bars. I called my home phone and it worked marvelously. I also respringed to see if the unlock would remain and it did. I then meddled with the 'data roaming' feature and had to follow the steps again.

Besides that, it's been 2 hours already and it's working perfectly.

What about rebooting.

FYI, it seems the price is falling fast. You can find for $50 shipped on ebay now from U.S sellers...just paid $70 yesterday.

Does Gevey has trade mark or patent pending on this? If not, I think it is a fair game.

We're not talking about fair game or not . I couldn't care less they have fakes ones so it could go for a lot cheaper. But the question you asked was what's the difference.

When the FAKE GEVEY sim burn out your iphone CPU, then u will know what the different between the original n the fake

I am not a fan of either Gevey sim or fake Gevey sim to unlock my Iphone. I rather wait for the unlock from Dev Team and I don't care how long I have to wait.

By looking at your user name, It's seen like you repair Iphone for a living. By claiming the fake Gevey sim will burn Iphone CPU. Do you have any evident or link to show us this happen?

The CPU is the same as When i dident have a sim card at all soo i dont know What you are talking about.. But keep the fake info coming its funny to read What other "problems" you can make from just thinking to hard (thes is for Everyone not only you :)

It seems that the Gevey sim is now selling for $40 shipped from some China sellers and $45 from US sellers. I think I'm going to wait till next week, as the price might go down some more.

Either way, when the Dev team unlock comes out, I'm definitely going to switch to that instead using this unlock method. Although, I think this is a good temporary unlock solution and will hopefully overcome any ultrasn0w blocking that Apple comes up with. Is it possible that Apple can come up with a software based method to block the Gevey unlock?

Possible. Therefore, don't update the firmware right after Apple come out with an update. Keep checking the forum and see what happens for a while and wait until it safe to update.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_0 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/532.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/4.0.5 Mobile/8A293 Safari/6531.22.7)

I successfully unlocked iOS 4.3 with ismart sim from sunsky.

Just chiming in to report I did receive several of the Sunsky 'Gevey' SIMs. They appear identical but are apparently clones. I could care less - the price was great and the main thing: they work! Great! I was able to use them on various iOS and baseband revisions up to and including the latest 4.3.1. No issues at all. This is a fantastic development. If you've been sitting around with a $500 paperweight, your wait is over!

I've got mine Gevey card two days ago and everything works great, I can finally use my iPhone 4 (fw 4.2.1), only problem is battery, I can't use it more than a day without recharging. Does anyone have similar problem?
