Hilarious.
You have no idea what you're talking about.

90% of the artists on the artistic websites I'm a member of use PC's to do their art. Macs are in the minority there. The artist makes great art. The tools make it easier or harder. In this case, their are many more tool choices on Windows than on Mac.

I do use a nMP for my work, but I don't put down anyone for the choices of their tools.

Just the way you talk about design and art says a lot about the industry you work in.

No one in their right mind would use PCs if they're in the design/typography industry. Unless Apple completely discontinues Macs.

These people are very loyal and you have to peel the Macs off their cold dead hands.

Editors are another set of user bases that are very loyal, but Apple has completely shunned them when they dumped FCP7 and Premiere Pro skyrocketed in performance and updates. FCPX is a joke, no one outside of events uses it. Hollywood uses Premiere and AVID now because FCP7 died -- that means a lot of editors switched to PCs because of CUDA and Quadro card support.

Personal preference?

So there are people that like to be periodically spammed by their operating system with a popup and an alert noise that is far louder in volume than anything else?

Is there anyone that likes that these notifications fill up your Action Center?

Is there anyone that likes the fact that if you dismiss the notification it just keeps coming back forever and ever?

Is there anyone that likes the fact that these popup notifications are caused by installed Microsoft adware called "Get Office"?

Is there anyone that likes the fact that if you uninstall this bloatware in a futile attempt to prevent notifications, it reinstalls itself, mimicking the very behavior of viruses and malware*?

---------

* Which of course is not the only time Windows 10 has acted like malware. For example, when Microsoft tricked people by treating a "close window" button as a "yes install Windows 10" button, thus acting just like the douchebaggiest of crapware slingers.

And no one in their right mind should make categorical statements.

Ooops.

Better tell the makers of Fontlab not to waste time on Windows.

You still didn't read my post.

Windows may one day take over the Mac's creative user base (about 10-15% of the community) but it won't happen right now.

The aggressive, arm-twist style of updates and self-promotion drive me crazy. It's like they stole it directly from Apple though, especially with their iOS updates.

Both of them are enough to drive you mental sometimes.

It sounds to me a much of that is personal preference (for instance anything that you consider ugly is personal preference).

Your comment of using PCs since the 90s was obvious from your list. Things like DLL hell, registry, bloat all trace their origins back to the 90s. They're really not issues today but most people haven't updated their anti-Windows arguments since then.

Look at when I registered on this forum. Don't you think I've gotten into arguments with people like you before? (I think you specifically). You're an IT guy, stick to Windows please. Being a Windoze apologist doesn't have any incentives.

This I can agree with but I think you're being overly dramatic about the impact.

No, I don't doubt that you've engaged in and lost every argument of this sort. That's not something to be proud of. Your use of the word "Windoze" says all we need to know about your objectivity.

Yeah, definitely over-dramatized. I was having fun with it.

But I could make a long list of problems with Windows that aren't from the 90's, that aren't personal preference like "ugly", and some of which are very serious indeed.

Then by all means please do so. I'd be interested in hearing them.

Noob.

I've been posting here for more than 16 years - you're less than 10.

Wow, I guess that I should bow down now - since you're either in junior high school or you can't spell Windows.

Good job, Aiden, for derailing the thread with irrelevant personal insults.

What do you gain from being a Windoze apologist? Is Microsoft paying you? Are you looking for some internet points?

Between you and Aiden, you definitely come off as an apologist for Apple. They can do no wrong in your eyes even when people try to explain facts to you (such as Windows vs macOS is now a preference instead of an issue of superiority).

It's an elegant piece of architecture and to ignore that would be biased and immoral
Seriously? Immoral? You really have to be desperately reaching to use immoral. So people who criticize Apple (or don't agree with you) are unethical, wicked, evil, foul, unprincipaled, unscrupulous, dishonorable etc (do look up immoral)? I wouldn't be talking about anyone else's IQ when you make such an obvious word choice blunder:eek:

I don't consider it a personal insult. I consider it a valid conclusion of your character. People who spell Windows as "Windoze" or "Windoz" are immature. I came to the same conclusion and therefore this will be my last post to you on this subject. It's obvious you lack the objectivity to engage in anything but childish banter.

Are you guys honestly suggesting that "forum registration date" is some form of credibility?
Only one individual is and they're already demonstrated a complete lack of credibility.

It would be very easy to ignore low IQ posters, but obviously it's also funny to not ignore one.
Wow, you complain about "irrelevant personal insults" and then make a comment about the IQ of other posters?

Yes, I am. It shows that one has been more than likely observing Apple's product hits (and misses) for some time. I think that someone who's been here since the "space egg" iMac days might have more insight than someone who's Mommy got him an iPhone 6, and is hoping for a MacBook.

I'm fairly new to the forum by almost any measure. However I've been a user of Apple computers since the Apple ][ days. I've wasted a lot of my life arguing in the comp.sys.mac.advocacy newsgroups many years ago. IMO forum membership is no indication of an individuals experience, knowledge, or observance of Apple's products.

Look...people gotta make money. That's all it comes down. It doesn't matter what tools we use. People will either go OS X or windows. IMO, I consider Pro(professional) as someone who does what they do for living and get PAID. Unless this person is paying the other person to work on specific project, they can't say anything toward Pros. If Apple isn't gonna help them (Pro users), what's the point of staying with macs?

Just recently I had to go to z series because Apple is pushing me to windows with no Mac update. I still use fcpx and I'm doing fine until I get the grasp of premiere...

Let's breath in..breathe out.

Hmm.

I guess I don't see how registering on this particular forum has any bearing whatsoever on ones credentials or length of time observing Apple as a company.

Many of us have been closely involved with Apple and its products for WAY longer than this forum has even existed.
