Then what's with the Pixel 5s leak and the different front design? I think that shows it's a more premium device.
One writer has speculated that the device being released as the 4a 5g was supposed to be the Pixel 5 and the device being released as the Pixel 5 was supposed to be some Pixel 5s model of some kind. The 5s is just an old firmware version on an engineering sample. Look at the second Twitter post in the article below.

Pretty sure there's only one front design and as you're talking about premium, that would mean a flagship 865/865+ which is not expected at all.

Impressed by the design. That chin looks exactly like an iPhone without the notch.

I am looking forward to the 30th!

Will definitely tune in. But sad that the 5 will now be unveiled before the 4a is even released in the UK.
Although could be a good thing now as the 5 may end up being the better buy if it's priced cheaper than their previous main line entries.

I think $649 would be the sweet spot, with holding out until it's drops to $499 later in the year for holiday sales.

I cant see them dropping it to $499 unless its sales are terrible....the 4a5g may be that price. That would be a better price, especially seeing how my OG pixel is low on storage and has randomly gone into airplane mode on its own a few times

I could see them dropping it that low for a weekend Black Friday sale, not a permanent price drop. The Pixel 4/XL were both a $200 discount for Black Friday last year via Amazon, Google Store and B&H, and Best Buy even offered $400 off with activation. Either way, there will definitely be a lower price opportunity later in the year at some point.

Biggest things I want from the Pixel 5;

- Long lasting battery equal to the iPhone 11 Pro Max or at least close

- Bright display, on par with the Samsung S20 and iPhone 11 Pro's. Pixel phones screens have always been dim and mediocre in sunlight in comparison.

- 8GB RAM hopefully keeps the UI smooth and fluid. Is the 90hz display just automatic like always set to 90hz never 60hz?

#2 is my biggest complaint with Pixels. I was outside a lot with my Note 20 Ultra today and had no issues and actually thought that I was glad I wasn't using my Pixel 3a.

Fwiw, the Pixel 4a gets bright outdoors. Its the first Pixel to actually push the brightness beyond the max on the brightness slider, when on auto brightness of course.
That's great to hear! I am actually thinking about picking up a 4a just for a fun change of pace device while keeping the Note 20 Ultra as my main driver.

This is my first Pixel (4a) and it gets bright but you have to turn it almost all the way up to see the screen well outside. I never hAve my screens on real bright by default but have the 4a around 70% brightness to where I like it.

But you don't turn it up manually if you want the maximum brightness outdoors. Adaptive/auto brightness pushes beyond what the manual slider can do when outdoors. I believe its some 400 nits or so brighter, which is quite a bit. I can understand though if you prefer having manual brightness control on, but you're missing out on the max brightness the phone can actually achieve.
