It doesn't really need to be exciting.I still don't get what's so exciting about the Pixel 5 at this point.
It's a new flagship by a major player in the non-IOS market, so I think it's worth discussing?

In fairness the only thing truly exciting in tech is foldablesWhy is this exciting? Serious question.
I looked at bestbuy.com and the Galaxy S20 is available for just $750, with true flagship chip, 5G, full set of camera lenses (wide, ultra wide, and telephoto), premium material, 12GB of RAM. And Samsung already promises 3 years of OS updates.
I don't think I ever said that it's not worth talking about. In fairness the only thing truly exciting in tech is foldables
Doesn't mean its not worth talking about lol
The Pixel line has never been heralded for it's hardware though, and if anything it's been discredited because of it's hardware. It's been heralded because of the camera and software experience. And it looks like this version will finally add good hardware design and a reasonable price to those terrific camera and software experiences.I don't think I ever said that it's not worth talking about.
There will be a buzz of the Pixel 5 from the usual tech sites. But is it truly worth the buzz? I mean there are really exciting techs being done by other OEMs like gimbal-equipped camera unit, under display front camera, auto-focus front camera, etc, yet the Pixel 5 somehow demands the excitement/buzz despite the ho-hum hardware. I guess that's my point/rant.
^^^^THIS^^^^ the Pixel line has never been about hardware. Then it should be a lot cheaper like the Nexus was. Pixel 4 was not cheap and had unnecessary hardware.^^^^THIS^^^^ the Pixel line has never been about hardware. It has always been about the software and user experience.

Yeah for sure. I think the ship has sailed on Google really having a larger chunk of the market than they already have, since they spent a few years trying to be a flagship maker, but they'll continue to have their spot with a group that values what they deliver with the camera and software experience.Agreed. But the issue now is that theres competition in the mid range market. When Nexus devices were popular, they were undercutting the flagship phones and even though specs werent top notch, there was nothing in the mid range market that could compete.
Disagree.....It has a leading camera and Face unlock that worked better than FaceID. Then above all it has a great user experience .All the hardware specs in the world mean nothing if there isn't a great use experience to pair with. Then it should be a lot cheaper like the Nexus was. Pixel 4 was not cheap and had unnecessary hardware.
That's mostly software, right? Camera hardware is subpar.Disagree.....It has a leading camera and Face unlock that worked better than FaceID. Then above all it has a great user experience .All the hardware specs in the world mean nothing if there isn't a great use experience to pair with.
you're wrong...Faceunlock is hardware.....then the camera is industry leading and is hardware.....double wrong....That's mostly software, right? Camera hardware is subpar.
And the camera?you're wrong...Faceunlock is hardware.....then the camera is industry leading and is hardware.....double wrong....
Sounds like you might have to do some research so you know what you're talking about
go back read what I wrote...I answered that for you.......And the camera?
Isn't the Sony IMX378 from 2016?go back read what I wrote...I answered that for you.......
and.....is there a point coming soon?Isn't the Sony IMX378 from 2016?
2016 is industry leading?and.....is there a point coming soon?
I am not sure is it? The results are industry leading.... FaceUnlock is industry leading Soli is industry leading....2016 is industry leading?
Agreed. But that's software and not hardware so they should lower the price.I am not sure is it? The results are industry leading.... FaceUnlock is industry leading Soli is industry leading....
What else you got? I don't care about specs...they are meaningless. Results are what matters. User experience is what matters.
Agreed. But that's software and not hardware so they should lower the price.
Not at all.....the AI built into the Pixel is unmatched in the smartphone space. Then the post processing algorithm is the best in the business. You don't have that kind of intellectual IP without spending big $$$ to develop it.Agreed. But that's software and not hardware so they should lower the price.
