Did anyone here get the Silver Mesh/Milanese Band with their Pixel Watch last year?

Was thinking of using my credit towards it.
I was tempted but ultimately never bothered. It seemed expensive for what it was. I did try a third party Amazon one and it was laughably bad. 😜.

If I knew I were keeping the phone I’d buy the blue leather watch band but I’ll hold off for now.

Cancelled my order with the Watch 2 and reordered my Pixel 8 with the buds which I'll sell. Realistically I don't find smart watches that useful and can be a bit of a distraction. None of the fitness insights change my already strong fitness habits.

I'm not a huge smart watch guy but have been enjoying using my Gen 1 so I will probably keep the Gen 2 and see how much longer I enjoy using it.

After trade in of £390 for 7 pro and selling the watch 2 for £200 will get the 8 pro for about £400. not too bad.
That's not shabby at all, your likely to sell the watch 2 for more than £200 right now too.

Lot of complaints about the price increases, I get the 128GB comparisons, Google should have scrapped it and started at 256GB.

Comparing prices of my P8 Pro 512GB to my 15PM 512GB the difference is about £200 plus £122 Google store credit plus the free watch 2. That's a pretty significant saving. Only Samsung pre-order deals come anywhere near close & only if they send an email with a further discount code.

Yeah if it was £999 for 256GB that would have been good trade off

I'm considering blowing my Google store credit on the new Buds Pro. Does anyone have a view on using last year's versions and/or how they compare to Samsung's? I'll be using them for exercise, running and cycling.

I posted something earlier in the thread. The Buds Pros are good. They have ok sound quality.
Direct comparison to the Air Pod Pro 2’s they are lacking. And sound quite a bit worse to me.
I don’t think it helps that the AirPods pair with Apple Music and Dolby Atmos which I think sounds amazing.
Google doesn’t support Dolby Atmos on its devices for music playback (unless that’s changed in the 8 series) whereas Google and Samsung do. I remember listening to songs through Apple Music app on my Z Flip 5 with my AirPod pros and they sounded just as good as they do with an iPhone, so this is another mad google decision it seems.

I have no experience with Samsung earbuds though, sorry.

To add to this sorry. They pair really nicely with the Pixel and the touch controls for volume, skip, go back etc are great.
I also love the look of them. I think unless you’re used to listening to music in Dolby Atmos, you’ll find them pretty good. :)

I have the Google Buds Pro and really like them, personally think the NC is better than APP Gen 2 but otherwise the APP Gen 2 were better.

I got rid of my APP Gen 2 during my Apple sell off.

Cheers for this. Thought process was that I’d have that one for evenings out and then the regular bands for the gym.

One to ponder-need the watch first! Haha!

I can get the Buds Pro on monthly’s through Amazon so likely to go that route with them. I enjoyed my time with the original Buds so should be more of the same and then some with the Pros.

Wow; that's a really crap trade in value!

They valued my 14PM at £700 yesterday when I looked; would have thought the P7P would have fetched a better price!

This is more than google offers. Most google offers is £347

Android phones don’t hold very good value on the market

iPhone 12 goes for more on google store than 7 pro

See I really like the watch. I think it’s the best looking smart watch out there. The new faces and bands look really good too!
I’m more excited about the watch because I’ve been on a Pixel since the 6 Pro and am enjoying a change with my iPhone.
I feel like the whole pixel order may have been a bit of a mistake I should just enjoy my iPhone, but I will see how I feel when it arrives.

With Google Store credit and trade ins the 8 Pro and Watch is costing me £162. Which is just crazy. So it was a no brainer as I don’t think I’d have sold my iPhone 14 privately for £535 which is what the trade in offer was.

Cheers for the information and from @UltraInstinct. I am going to go for the Buds Pro, especially as they pair up nicely with the Pixel with decent touch controls. Will be using them mainly outside, during exercise which they'll be great for so I don't need top tier audio like Dolby Atmos on the go.

I used to have Galaxy Buds 2 Pro which supported direct multi-channel 5.1, 7.1-channel or Dolby Atmos content but never reaped the full benefits (except with my Z Fold 4 inside) using them outside so sold them on.

I've not used the Air Pod's Pro 2's but use Airpods Max with my 15PM or iPad if I want heavyweight headphones to listen to Dolby Atmos music / watch movies etc. Makes a difference with spatial audio & dynamic head tracking etc. Great for plane journeys.

Just for reference:

Snapdragon X70 5G modem
Up to 10 Gbps Peak Download
Up to 3.5 Gbps Peak Upload

Samsung Exynos 5300 5G modem
Up to 3.0Gbps Peak Download
Up to 422Mbps Peak Upload

Google is using inferior modems.
Maybe, but the difference doesn't affect 99% of people because they are nowhere near the peak and don't need the peak. There is always going to be slightly better hardware out there, now or in the near future.

P7 modem works perfectly well and I've had no connectivity issues compared to iPhone 13PM. I don't think people should worry about it in general.

Same on the watch front- zero interest in any of them.

Many of my fellow pedaling cronies started with Garmin devices then acquired some sort of mobile manufacturer smart watch and now have gone back to Garmin smart watches.

An Android/iPhone app (Cyclemeter) and Wahoo BT heart rate strap have covered the bases quite well for me for more than a decade.

Looks like all of the colour and storage configurations are still in stock on the Google store.
Either there is loads of stock or they’re just not as popular this time out!

Do they usually sell out? I've had many Pixel phones but the only one I ever got on release day was the Pixel 1, which definitely didn't sell out.

Haha god the first pixel definitely would not have sold out. I loved that phone.

And I think some colours for the 6 in particular were on back order for a while if memory serves.
It’s normally the cases for the Pixels that disappear quickly and then stay out of stock forever. I remember wanting the Hazel case last year for my 7 Pro and it wasn’t in stock on launch and stayed out of stock for weeks and weeks after. By time it came back I wasn’t bothered about a case then 😜.

Same, loved it, the wedge shape was really cool as well lol. Before that I'd only had a Nexus 5 and 6 which were my favourite phones ever.

I've never had the official Pixel cases before, I did originally order one yesterday but I've cancelled it. 🤣

Looking at case options. Ideally MagSafe compatible for use in the car.

Does anyone have experience of this one on the Google store or if it was available for other phones?

Not after massive drop protection, just something to cover the odd bump whilst being strong enough to stick to my car mount.

Edit: Seems the Mous website has a bit more detail and images. Going to go for this in blue…

Never used a Mous case before but do see them recommended. Aren't they the guys who throw them around outside Apple stores? 😂
