Good to know the best phone screen in the industry is still the best. S23U undefeated.

I beg to differ and I've owned an S23 Ultra. Colour luminance is good, not the best, nor is peak brightness and HDR10 compositing is definitely not best in class vs the 14PM, let alone the 15PM.

Actually, the S22+ performed better with HDR10 performance according to XDA"s deep dive on the S23U display:

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has some improvements to the screen, but is it enough to make it one of the best phones with a Samsung Display?

Only the Google Pixel devices & iPhone OLEDs are capable of proper HDR compositing. I expect the 8 Pro to outperform the S23U in a screen test.

Whilst the S23U screen is great, it's certainly not best in the industry.

Yeah I was surprised, must have happened during the early hours. Thursday can't come quick enough.

That's the reason why Samsung and Google went with curved displays, they are easier to hold (narrower).

I encountered the opposite with both OP 8 and P6P. Just never liked curved displays.

I tend to attribute groans about laggy mobile phones/running too hot/etc. to some of the apps people choose to install.

None of my phones have felt chronicallly laggy (iPhones, up to 8 Plus) and multiple flavors of Android devices since.

Where can I see the differences in screens? Everyone is saying the 8's come with flat screens... how are not all screens flat? My first Android Pixel phone is coming this week.
I'm currently an iPhone user, so not sure what the difference is for the Pixels.

By “not flat” screen we mean the edge of the screen curves, the Pro Pixels used to have curved screens but now it’s flat with the 8 Pro.

Cool, ive seen a few that color, but i wouldnt have chose a Hazel phone if there were more choices so im looking for a yellow, white or lighter blue color case.....something along those lines.

Maybe ill settle for something like that if i cant find what i like lol. Its not bad, i just like color and i actually love my P7 Lemongrass color.
I dont buy black phones because when i leave it laying around, it blends in to things and i have a bit of a hard time finding it lol.

I’m considering selling my recent iPhone 15 (just two weeks old) and buying the Pixel 8. Prices are really good: 739€ for 128gb and 789€ for 256gb, plus the pixel earbuds.

I’m not too happy with the iPhone 15 due to the overheating issues. I still find it hot after updating to 17.0.3, specially while charging. That can’t be good for the battery in the long run.

I also hate that I’m kind of forced to use a 60hz screen in 2023 just because I don’t want to pay more than 1000€ for a phone, and then having just ok battery (on the 15 pro). Don’t want a huge phone either.

Also reception is not great with the iPhone. So my main alternative would be the Pixel 8, which has a slightly bigger screen, more brightness, more ram, bigger battery, maybe better camera, 7 years of updates, 120hz screen, etc.

Not having to wait months for updates is a big plus. I come from an iPhone 12. I’m happy with iOS but not thrilled with the 15 lineup.

I have about 4-5 pairs of ear buds. Im thinking i may sell my Pixel buds when i get them. Think anybody will buy them for $150?

I like the buds that have a little tab or something that help hold them in your ear. I dont think these have that.

Those who have these whats the possible advantage of having Pixel Buds over my JBLs?

I emphasized how we all rely here on your input with new phones and he was more than glad to bump up your delivery and release the phone tomorrow... I also told him that I would cancel my Best buy order even though I'm getting the best trade-in and order through them just so I can sacrifice for you receiving the phone early... Best of luck
