Chances it won’t but for that’s a high bar. Pro max have maybe best battery on a phone
True, however the S23 Ultra seemed to match my 14 Pro Max on battery life. It’s why I won’t buy an Exynos version of a Samsung phone. The battery life on Exynos is much worse in my experience. I’ve never experienced Pixel so I’m not so sure.
I think Android 14 has helped from what I can see so far with my Fold but I would not expect the phone to hang with the S23U or my IPhone 15 PM …but don’t let it stop you and explore the Google side ..there are way more positives to the experience ..

Android 14 beta has improved battery life on Pixel phones for sure.
But will the Pixel 8 Pro matched battery life of the S23 Ultra? Doubtful. But it won't be crazy worse on the 8 Pro, it will be less though.
During the work day I'm near a wireless charger all the time. Or in the car plug it in.
My Pixel 7 Pro doesn't have the best battery life nor the worst battery life, it's ok, not bad or terrible. And the 8 Pro is supposedly better on battery, so we shall see.
So many times phones that get amazing battery life like the iPhone 13 Pro Max or S23 Ultra but to the point where it's almost useless extra battery life. Like yeah okay at the end of the night I plug it in and it still has 40% left at bedtime. But so what? I'm done using my phone for the day at that point. I don't need that 40% and that's definitely not enough to continue to keep me going through the day tomorrow. I still need to charge it.
So if my Pixel ends the night at 20% left, so what, I'm done anyways and will be charging.

I’ve had some days I need to bump charge late afternoon or early evening and seems now that occurs less frequently if at all …I think Android 14 has helped in with battery in my experience…
DPD has received my Google order details and are expecting my parcel shortly!!!
I take a power bank with me pretty much everywhere I go these days so can always top up as and when.
Yeah from the Google Store, my order hasn't changed on there just now shows in the DPD app.

Looking at the Bay blue photos, now I wished I would've stayed with that color on my pre-order, but I got nervous and changed to porcelain, but now almost want to go back to Bay.

Ah you’re right as I can now track my trade in kit and that’s coming via Royal Mail, not DPD. So it must be the phone.
Google could just be getting the phones to DPD early and then they may hold them similarly to iPhone launches until the actual release date.
Re people getting them early - I don’t think it’s happened in the past but can’t be sure.
Someone in the UK has received the Pixel Watch 2 and charging brick today. And their phone has also been assigned courier.
So signs are pointing to maybe an early delivery from Google direct, but we shall have to wait and see. 😌

Yup. Strange it didn’t come with the phone but it’s not clear if he ordered a separate watch on its own.
