Thanks

scoopz any update regarding the newest release? any change to your machine?

edit: never mind you already tried it (Beta 6). So I can see that this release is solving graphics issues to some users only and not all of them. hmm what does this mean.. Software + Hardware ?

who else downloaded the beta 6 and solved his issues with graphics?

Can you back out of the beta and get back on the release track? Or do you have to do a full reformat for that?

Yes; I believe the method of doing so its continually updating in the beta to an official release and then opting out through that website's portal. I have done it times before.

I know this is not new but actually people with older models especially mid 2015 units that have graphics glitches are more than I thought. This thread for example has 7 pages and many users have those graphics issues.

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7096259?start=90&tstart=0

That thread is one year old and on el capitan, so thst proves this is issues apple dont care about if its still not fixed after a year

Maby its time to ditch apple and go windows/android instead, android phones are alot better nowdays than before, and even on my macbook win 10 runs alot better and smoother than macos

I still think it's crazy that these issues didn't come up during pre-release testing. The machines clearly aren't ready for prime time yet.

yah it is from last year and that is my point. What are we waiting for? a fix? I'm not sure an update will solve all this. If I received mine on Jan with same issues I will just keep sending it back for a replacement until I get a good copy.

Our last hope now is the final release of the next macOS update but I'm not optimistic about it.

Can anyone confirm that 10.12.2 fixes the graphics freak outs / kernal panics when converting photos? AppleCare told me not to use my MBP until 10.12.2 came out.

The Siri window quickly flashes to yellow, but returns to normal right away (while the discrete card is running).

Yes it is still there but this is not an issue because it's very rare that the Intel and AMD graphics will switch over during Siri call ups. It will be fixed soon but this is a new machine with new drivers. Turn off automatic graphics switching if you are using pro apps or desk bound. Turn on the Intel chip only when necessarily moving around and doing light tasks.

Anyone here who can use the infamous Adobe Media Encoder for something? That seemed to trigger a lot of the graphics problems.

Of Course its not an "issue" but it's an indicator that something goes wrong that probably won't be fixed by Apple at all. I had simalar problem with my 2010 Macbook and at the end I / Amazon paid for it, not Apple.

I can assure you I won't be keeping / paying for this $4K machine if they don't address it and soon. :)

Doesn't look like a hardware issue at all. It's clearly because switching between two graphics drivers causes some confusion in the way each of them is called to render Quartz's alpha channels.

They need to tweak Quartz engine so that it continues to render the GUI correctly before and after the GPU driver switches.

I just did two shut downs and reboot. The File Vault glitch is gone so Apple is fixing this.

On Geekbench compute the new Polaris drivers see a 15-20% increase in OpenCL.

OKAY NOW IT'S NOT ONLY ADOBE MEDIA ENCODER: MY MBP JUST CRASHED WHILE TRANSCODING IN FCPX.
This is getting really annoying.

I would have thrown in the towel by now if i was in your shoes... just saying.

Yep, these machines just shouldn't have been released. Apple should be ashamed about this. No way these things were tested properly.

This is actually intersting. Maybe it's like the issue with Speakers/bootcamp where if you use the laptop without updating the drivers your speakers will be damaged. Maybe it is the same thing now. using your macOS without updating to the latest updates is cousing permenet hardware issues.. Maybe that what the Apple guy with white hear meant in his email. the issues with graphics are fixed in the new update release but he didnt want to say the effected machines should be replaced.

I think all the of you who are getting new units now should not use it before updating to latest macOS relese. and better be the full release and not the beta?

I just talked to Apple and the FCPX specialist said it's definitely a defective video card. They shipping me one on fast track because they want to capture mine to find out what's wrong with it.

And I still can't get myself to even think about a Windows machine. Call me crazy. Getting used to a new OS is the last thing I want to do. Especially when it might not be worth it.

And the MBP looks hot
