Well it works for both of you but, you are both running AMD cards. I am using a non flashed MSI GTX 570 in a Mac Pro 1,1 booting Mavericks using Tiamo's boot.efi replacement.

Thanks! Worked great on my Nvidia GTX 680 and 10.9.2. I'm running audio over DisplayPort to my LG monitor, it shows up under the audio devices as my monitor's model number, "34UM95".
@Hennesie2000: I got the same message, but it's just a warning and worked for me anyway. Make sure you reboot right after installing.

It worked fine for me on 10.9.2 but I updated to the beta 10.9.3 and that is when it stopped working. Something in 10.9.3 has changed and HDMI audio no longer works with my (an) Nvidia card. I have installed/uninstalled it many different times and different ways, always rebooting immediately afterwards with no success.
I'm still on 10.9.2. It could possibly be an issue with the beta. I responded to your PM.
Have you had a chance to look at the file I sent you? I would be happy to test any new versions of the kernel if you are still on 10.9.2.
Has anyone confirmed if HDMI audio is working in today's 10.9.3 release?
Like Hennesie2000, I'm using an unflashed GTX570.

I could never get it working on the last 10.9.3 beta with my GTX 570. Two users above reported that it work with a AMD card. If you are up for it you can always downgrade back to 10.9.x by running the install from a DVD or USB drive and then use the 10.9.2 combo update. You won't loose anything and your preferences will remain intact.
Just wanted to say that out of curiosity, I downloaded and installed the extension on my 1,1 with HD7950 Mac Edition installed. My system information now shows HDMI audio output as an option for sound. I am running OSX 10.9.2. Very sweet addition to our machines. I do not currently have a need for this on my oMP 1,1. But in case I do in the future, thank you.
And It's looks better in the system report as well, I don't want to see any hardware there with no driver installed
I've been unable to reproduce the issue on my installation of 10.9.3. Looking over the file you sent, everything appears to be properly initialized.
Can you please provide a little bit more information regarding your configuration? Which PCIe port is your GTX 570 installed into? Is it the only GFX card in the system? Are you using DVI, HDMI or DisplayPort? Have you tried using a different cable or port? What's the make and model of your receiver/monitor/TV?
I apologize for asking so many questions. I would really like to get to the bottom of this problem.
Is there anyone else currently experiencing DVI/HDMI/DisplayPort audio problems with this driver using a GTX 500/600 series on 10.9.3?
Ask any questions you need too. I would also love to figure out why it won't work after the update.
I have a Mac Pro 1,1 running Mavericks using the Tiamo boot.efi file. The GTX 570 is in slot 1 and there is a USB 3.0 card in slot 3. The monitor/TV is a Samsung UN22D5000 which is connected using a mini HDMI to HDMI cable.
HDMI did not show up in the audio preferences when I was running the 10.9.3 beta as it shows up in 10.9.2. I have not updated to the official release of 10.9.3 yet.

I updated to the official 10.9.3 and then reinstalled the HDMIAudio kext and it does not show up as an option in sound preferences still. It also does not show up under audio in the system profiler as a device. When running 10.9.2 there is an HDMI listing under devices. I also tried modifying the 331.01 driver package from Nvidia to install on my system, which it did, but it is using the default OS X driver because the driver from Nvidia is not compatible with 10.9.3. It did not make a difference with HDMI Audio.
Here are two screenshots on 10.9.3 with and without HDMI Audio installed. It would seem that the device is not initializing properly. In 10.9.2 there would also be an HDMI entry in the devices list as I stated above.

Just found time to update and I've had no issues with the driver on 10.9.3, using a GTX 570.
Hennesie2000.... in case it helps you, I've tested this on two installs of Mavericks and both work perfectly:
First, I used a fresh install on a spare HDD, just in case. I didn't want to lose HDMI audio on my main OS:
- I did a clean install of 10.9 on a spare HDD using SFOTT,
- I installed tobyg's patch from here https://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=18829695#post18829695
- I installed the HDMI Audio driver,
- I updated to 10.9.3 via the Appstore, HDMI audio working perfectly.
Then, I updated my main OS:
- This was already running 10.9.2 with tiamo's fix (not a SFOTT install though) and tobyg's patch,
- HDMI audio driver was already installed,
- Updated to 10.9.3 via the Appstore, HDMI audio working perfectly.
My specs are:
Mac Pro 1, 1 (flashed to 2, 1 & SMC flashed to 1.15f3)
8GB Crucial RAM
Gainward GTX 570 1280MB in Slot 1
120GB SSD
The Mac is connected to a Sony STR-KS360S amp
I was having this exact same issue, my system information appeared exactly like this as well. I did the following to get it to work again.
1. Follow the uninstall instructions on the original post, including the reboot.
2. Reinstalled it using the instructions in the same place. Again, including the reboot.
After this process, my hdmi audio device shows up again and is also showing up in System Information. Hope you have the same luck.

Unfortunately, I have tried this multiple times with no success. I just upgraded back to 10.9.3 and I uninstalled HDMIAudio while still running 10.9.2. I might try another cable to see if that is the issue, have to go through all possible issues.

Since you have basically the same setup as me and it is working for you. Can you type 'kextstat' in terminal and see if HDMIAudio is mentioned at all? It is not mentioned there when I am running 10.9.3 so I would assume it is not loading properly.
It's there for me. Sorry, I've really no clue why it's not loading for you.
Update:
Just to cover the basics, have you reset NVRAM and repaired permissions after installing the kext?
I didn't have to, but might be worth a shot?
Also you could try to force the kext to load with a terminal command sudo -s kextload -v /path/to/kext

I have repaired permissions, and reset the nvram. That didn't help. I used a slightly different terminal command (sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/HDMIAudio.kext) to force it to load and then it would show up under kextstat but it still didn't work. I'm guessing it's something to do with my card. It works fine under 10.9.2 and Windows 7 x64. I have reinstalled 10.9 several times and even tried the 10.9.3 combo update. The 10.9.2 update works fine. I pulled the card and cleaned it last night but that didn't help either.
Update:
I noticed it doesn't show up under kextstat in 10.9.2 even though it is working fine. So don't think that was a good test. I assume it is something with my card at this point.
