Has anyone received a MacBook Pro with a 2.6 chip yet

Well apparently shipped from originating depot in Shanghai doesnt mean on an international flight. Mine has only just got to Pudong international airport, from where i assume it will be hitting apples Arnhem euro distribution hub, and then England the following day. I just hope it gets here on monday or i've taken a day off work for no reason!
 
The FedEx website says mine is in Houston in the sort facility! It still says delivered on tues the 27th by 10:30am. I wonder if I call will they let me pick it up. : )

Try it...let me know, because that means I can pick mine up on Monday night!

I called FedEx, they said I cannot pick it up today, but they told me it will be delivered on Monday instead of Tuesday. She said she would notify the depot, but since they already have it, it should be here regardless on monday instead of tuesday like their website says.

I cannot wait till monday morning!!!
 
Can people explain the major advantages of the faster 7200 HD? I just went with the standard HD but upgraded the processor to 2.6. Its already a very expensive machine for me and I couldn't quite swing the extra 2 hundy for the 7200 HD:apple:

No your not being dumb, however, depending on what you are going to do, the difference may be worth the money. For me it is, this is why I went with the 2.6 Processor and 7200rpm HD. The way I look at it is I would rather not regret something. If you do not get it you may always think back and wish you got it. At the same time you can just do the upgrade your self later.

Is the HD user upgradeable the same way RAM is? Does it void the warranty?
 
i believe in the MBP you can change the RAM and not void the warranty, but changing the HDD does void the warranty. I am not completely sure though.

It is coming from Shanghi, wouldn't they use a plane? or is it a slow boat?

I ordered it on the 19th November...

My only hope it will have the proper leopard install disks with ilife 08 on rather than tiger.
 
I think Apple is shipping by batches.

3 weeks ago, the shipping time was 2-3 weeks,
then it changed to 5-7 days till now 2-4 days.

So if you ordered today, it will arrive at the same time as if you ordered 1 week ago.

Mine 'shipped' (left Apple) on Friday 23 and left Shanghai airport early Sunday 25 morning, so sounds like I'm a couple of days ahead of you. I'll let you know when I get mine - you should be a couple of days behind, assuming you're a Fast Ship (EMEA) like mine.

Ship date: 11/23

Shipping history (paid for 2-3 day):
Shanghai, CN 11/23
Anchorage, AK 11/24
Memphis, TN 11/25
(it's going to Charleston, SC - by Tuesday for sure, Monday if FedEx loves me)

Either way I'm psyched. My first :apple: since the IIe.

How long do you all think that it will take for the machines to clear customs???? Do you think that they will process these on Sundays???

Not sure, but at 1:57PM Memphis, TN time today (Sunday), this puppy "departered FedEx location." I'm gonna keep watch cuz if this thing gets to Charleston before the early AM there's still a chance it'll be on a delivery truck to my place by morning! :D
