I think that worked! Your the best WeaselBoy! I can't thank you enough!
Oh good. :)

That will get you back to the OS version that came from the factory. If you want to update to something newer you will need to apply the update through the App Store app.

You have something odd going on there. Normally there would be only one core storage volume listed that is the Fusion'd single logical volume.

Run this and tell me what it says. This will show the layout of the core storage volume.

Code:
diskutil cs list
I am having the same problem w/ HD locked. I have run everything to this point; however, when I go to terminal I get "-bash-3.3#" in the terminal screen. If I type in anything listed in this thread it doesn't work. Help.

Can you tell me what OS version and what year and model Mac you have? Can you explain how you got to this point or what happened?

It is attempting to restore Lion; however, I installed Capitan a while back and it's been acting up ever since. Now when I boot, it shows a circle with a line through it instead of the apple logo.

What year and model Mac?

Exactly what was it doing under El Capitan? Did it ever work properly under El Capitan?

It's a MacBook Pro approx. 2011. It would sometimes show a pink screen at boot and other times it would work fine. Sometimes it would get hot (fan running) and other times not. All since Capitan...

Currently I did a Command+Option+R+P and it is sitting on the circle with diagonal line.

That pink screen is not good. Sounds like maybe a logic board failure. Can you hold command-option-r at boot to get to Internet recovery... once there can you see the disk in Disk Utility?

Okay... that's good. You should see a spinning globe while the recovery utility downloads then you should see the recovery screen where you can start Disk Utility.

Are you on the recovery screen now? If so, start Disk Utility and tell me if you can see the Internal drive in the left column.

Okay... select the disk itself at the very top left where it says 1TB ST1000.... then try to format the disk to Mac OS Extended (Journaled). Then quit Disk Utility and click reinstall OS.

This will erase the drive of course and your data will be gone, so I hope you have your data backed up somewhere.

There should be a line that looks something like this with the name of the core storage (Fusion) drive. That is the name of the volume you want to delete with that command earlier.

2: Apple_CoreStorage Macintosh HD 120.5 GB disk0s2
I did the same the and mine said this
No corsestorage logical volume groups found
Idk what to do

Here is the deal.... it looks like you did a command-r boot to recovery and are now trying to erase the whole drive. That won't work because you are booted to the recovery partition on that same drive.

Can you still boot to Lion?
