That's not true.....Nexus 6P at half the price of a comparable iphone will not lag. It will get all updates from the source and be ready out of the box. There are a ton of cheaper Android phones that compare both in performance to iphones that do not lag and are ready out of the box.

The UMI Super is $179 and compares to the iphone is specs and design. It doesn't lag and performs really well.

http://www.gearbest.com/promotion-umi-super-sale-special-644.html

As cheap as a Nexus is I don't like it at as a cheap phone because it's Googles Flagship device meaning high end. I'm taking about like the new Samsung J5, Samsung J3, the Xperia X stuff like that. I've watched unboxings and reviews guy turns the phone and immediate lag

But you can change the s7 icons to look EXACTLY like an iPhone icons. So what's the problem exactly?
[doublepost=1465403118][/doublepost]
Why? So you think everyone that uses an iphone like the icons? All 300 + million? No. At least with android you have a choice to change it. It takes less than 2 minutes. If you're too lazy to do that then I can't help you.

The problem is needing to change... Why should you need to change. That's my point and you may be right but you don't see people moaning about it because we get used to it and move on with our lives

I have never heard of that but would love to try it, the 4000 mah battery sounds very good
Yeah looks awesome and ships with MM and should get 2 days or more battery life at heavy use. Comes with SD card and by all accounts should be a very nice phone! You can't go wrong at $179!

that's because they are updating and downloading all the app updates. You need to let them set for a while.
Then comparing the very low end Android models is really not fair...... The Nexus is high end but still half the price of a comparable iphone. Then there are some low end Android phones that do not exhibit what you described.....

Looks is subjective. You get that right? Apple nor Samsung will create icons that everyone likes. So to fix that Samsung / android gives you a choice. How exactly do you fix it on an iPhone?

Why are you complaining when given a choice? I honestly dont get that. You prefer to be forced to like something?

Out of the box many people love Samsung icons (I don't). If you don't you use 2 minutes of your time and change it. But that is a problem why? You have no valid reason than trying to be difficult.

So what difference does it make if its Googles flagship phone for cheap?

Does that make it a bad thing?

FaceTime, iCloud and iMessage, eco system, top flight product, support, support for at least 3 or 4 generations, quality hardware. Depends on what is important to you or not.
When someone says they switch back to the iPhone because of the reasons you listed above (except quality hardware). Its completely understandable. Once you get use to using something (face time, I messages) its hard to give up.

The misleading way you've claimed Android apps have so many ads is quite imaginative.

My Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro consistently has full screen popup ads in games that I play that my iPhone/iPad do not. One example: Celtic Tribes.

Misleading? No. Not really. I get a lot more ads on Android than I do on iOS.

------------------------------

Having used both Android and iOS I agree with the OP. To each his/her own, there will be people that agree/disagree. Android is not as refined, it is more customizable, and yes, every Android phone I've had has nowhere near the standby battery life, the camera is nowhere near as good, and it requires a bit of work for it to get ... acceptable. Don't get me started on forced adware. That is why I rooted when I had Android. Forced Adware on a $700 device I paid for ? LOL.

Back when I was single, I had less money, a job that didn't demand as much effort - Android was perfect. Cheap, customizable, rootable, fun, ....

Now that I have less time to fiddle with my phone, I am very happy with iPhone.

Another example is Moto X Pure I got for $199 at BB does not lag, even if I bought it ar full retail of $399 it is a worthy smartphone versus iPhones.

There are Huyndai models that do the same thing if not more than various BMW models, and yet plenty of people buy and drive BMW cars.

Define plenty, certainly not the % of folks who buy iPhones versus androids.

You guys realize this argument can never end right? As much as an Apple user tries to justify an Android user will have a reply and vice versa. Let's just be happy with what we have and get over it

Very true. I've recommended Android to certain people and iPhone to others based on what I think they might like. What I like to say is, without Android, Apple wouldn't have competition and there'd be very little progress. Same for Apple to Android. When people come at me with "Look at what the S7 can do that the 6s can't do!" I say great, now Apple has a reason to do better - and vis versa.

I think the Apple ecosystem is a bit of a negative unless you came in at the start. I wanted a high powered small phone and the only one available really was the SE. Now this is a really really good bit of kit but the investment I've had to make, not just financial, is huge to switch. Within Android there is huge choice (except if you want a high powered small phone obviously) and no real learning curve to switch between Samsung, LG et al.

Now admittedly I didn't need to buy an iPad Pro but I thought hey ho in for a pound and all that.

I'm getting to like the Apple kit but it does involve changing how I do things and for this I don't think any one can say Apple is "better" than Android or vice versa.

Just trying to put the view of a very experienced Android user who is now a novice Apple user.

I get you completely on that and I think the SE is going to be around for a good while and they'll upgrade it every 2-3 years to keep the form factor relevant.

I didn't need an iPad Pro either bought one with the Pencil and now I honestly can't imagine not having one and that's purely from a Media consumption and the ease to transfer work to my MacBook point of view.

And yeah switching over is not easy it's how I started but since I've been on Apple I haven't had any bad experiences with my devices

It's got it's cons for sure but I can look past all that because the good outweighs the bad for me personally

True. They buy BMW for the logo that is on the hood.
The same reason they buy Hyundai models, for the logo.

But hyperbole and generalities aside, the bmw propellor logo, much like the Apple logo carries the weight of a quality brand image that people recognize that the companies have worked hard at. Hyundai has no brand image.

So when you say people buy for the logo, it's a tacit recognition of what positive traits are behind the logo.

Yeah, all you said is true. However that brand image can only last so long. More and more BMW owners are switching to more reliable luxury cars like lexus that offers similar packages for less.

Just like how apple image can only last so long if they don't keep up. People will continue to switch for cheaper android phones that offer similar packages.

Just like how Hyundai was thought of to be POS by most consumers. Slowly but surely Hyundai has turned around their brand image to producing decent cars. I myself am tempted to buy a Genesis (4 door flagship sedan).

I don't know where you get your info from: goodcarbadcar.net has all of the information you need about car sales showing bmw and Mercedes leading their segments; which shows people not switching.

Just like apples revenue and valuation shows there is no smoke and mirrors.

May 2016 Hyundai Equus sold 123; 5 series 3264.

Even out of those who might be switching for one reason or another, more than likely that most aren't switching to Huyndai, or Chevy, or something else like that.

Not referring to equus. I said I am tempted to get a genesis. Where was I referring to Hyundai competing with BMW. Please show me. I said Hyundai are producing decent vehicles now. They passed Honda last year in sales. They are 5th in USA I think. Not exactly sure however they are doing way better than 10 years ago.

I compared BMW to Lexus, why didn't you mention that? Lexus came about in what 1990? Lexus switches places each month in sales from 1st to 3rd in the usa with BMW and Mercedes. Lexus is cheaper too. Lexus also has much less models vs the Germans. So you say people aernt switching to Lexus? Get your facts straight.

Just like I replied to i7guy...nowhere did I say people are switching from BMW for Hyundai. People are switching from Toyota, Honda, chevy, ford, etc though. This is reflected in sales.

I own a s7 edge. But owned a 6s Plus before that. And will say the S7 Edge camera blows the doors off the iphone 6s plus camera period. No comparison. You proved you are biased and don't like Android. I read that comment on the camera and just laughed.

the facts as presented in godcarbadcar.net don't agree with you. But no matter. Bmw sales figures show otherwise so get your facts straight. See how easy it is to say that.

I go back to iPhone from android from time to time. I hardly last 6 months before going back to android.

Now as a S7 owner going from a S5 im giving up and staying on android.

Before the S5 which to be honest was an impulse purchase. I had an iPhone 6+ that I got bored of.

iPhone. Everyone's looks the same. Look at my wallpaper and how I arranged my apps. End of.

Every android phone looks different.

I'll agree iOS software is better but android keeps improving, plus I like the geek apps like CPU-Z etc. Not to mention widgets.

The iPad Pro 12.9 and the S7 is a great combo. Oh and a MacBook. ☺️

"I like geek apps" and that is why Android works for you because of that exact reason. That's their main target market to be honest. Nothing wrong with it but majority of iPhone users would never care about stuff like that

Your website states for March that Lexus outsold bmw. That was the first month I checked. So how exactly is it saying otherwise?

So let me get some clarification.

1. You're saying Lexus did not take a lot of sales from BMW and Mercedes right? Hence if Lexus did not exist BMW and Mercedes would remain constant right?

2. Hyundai is 7th on your website list. But you're saying they didn't take sales from Toyota, Honda, ford, etc? They weren't in the top 10 a 15 years ago.

I honestly am not sure what you're trying to say, you're making no sense.

Your not making any sense either. It's easy, May 2016.
1. Mercedes 134304 vehicles
2. Lexus 125785
3 bmw 124581

Mercedes sold the most cars in May 2016. Lexus and BMW were virtually tied.

No doubt! That new Genesis is a hot looking car. Really commanding stance on the road, if I do say so myself.

And you're implying that Lexus does not take away sales from BMW. Lexus had zero sales in 1989. Now they have 125k per month as you highlighted. So none of those 125k consumers were potential BMW owners right?
