I completely agree on the automation side of things, and yes android is way ahead on that but that's only because it being an open platform. I'm concerned about security on some of these automated systems to be honest. Although I do want to try it out. Not to mention, I don't hate android as a platform. In fact I use multiple android phones on a daily basis. I just don't like pretentious people who think they're mini Einsteins just because they use android. One of the best reasons to use Android has not been mentioned so far. Automation. You and other iPhone users like to mention you want your phone to make your life easier. With automation on android you can literally sit and watch your phone do whatever you want it to do without touching or saying anything to it. It doesn't get easier than that.
One example is I can set my phone to do the follwing once I enter my car:
open maps
turn on location
open Google play music
Start playing from a playlist
...WITHOUT touching my phone.
But as per usual you're going to find an excuse as to why you wouldn't want your phone to do tasks without being asked.

Per usual you find some way out of the earth use case. My phone is a tool to make my life easier, which it does. I get in my car and hit siriusxm on the radio done, then hit the home button to get an update on my cars display on traffic and routing. When I get home I charge my phone leave it in the office and take my iPad into the living room for some casual browsing. There I get my messages and phone calls and if needed I can call from my iPad.One of the best reasons to use Android has not been mentioned so far. Automation. What is out of the world case? Don't many people stream music when they enter their car and use GPS? When I get in my car I don't hit anything. Just drive. This is just one instance. There are so many other things you can do. But Apple keeps you caged so you wouldn't know.Per usual you find some way out of the earth use case. Agree with your whole statement. The security issue shouldn't be a problem. The user creates all to triggers and what happens when and where. Only drawback with automation is that it takes a while to set up.I completely agree on the automation side of things, and yes android is way ahead on that but that's only because it being an open platform. I definitely want to try automation to be incorporated in my lifestyle more. Do you mostly use IFTTT to setup the rules? I use that now to use with my iOS device to some extent. What is out of the world case? Don't many people stream music when they enter their car and use GPS? When I get in my car I don't hit anything. I'll grant you I don't know because I don't want to tinker with my phone; I do enough tinkering all day long. That's why I buy my cars with nav and Sirius and I don't kill the battery on long trips. What is out of the world case? Don't many people stream music when they enter their car and use GPS? You use your iPad to make and receive calls? Then this will be you when they remove the headphone jack from the ipad too!I'll grant you I don't know because I don't want to tinker with my phone; I do enough tinkering all day long. And, you completely ignored my use case of using my iPad to make and receive text messages and calls.
Each platform has different strengths, I like the closed positioning of iOS personally.

KDE or Gnome or other GUIs don't interest me and why when i have OS X and all the command line tools i need are the same on both or if i miss something i can install from macports or compile myself. I don't see a point in using linux whatsoever.Except Linux is not Unix
And that bring us back to my original point
You could even use a bluetooth headset tooThe iPad doesn't have a ear peace so holding to your head makes no sense. Also you do know about speakerphone correct? When you answer the phone on your iPad you can leave it on the desk you don't have to pick it up. Just saying.
I showed you one example. Obviously you could find other ways in your day to day routine.I'll grant you I don't know because I don't want to tinker with my phone; I do enough tinkering all day long. That's why I buy my cars with nav and Sirius and I don't kill the battery on long trips.

Yep that is exactly what I use. I usually just go on the forums and copy others ifttt because I am lazy Lol.I definitely want to try automation to be incorporated in my lifestyle more. Do you mostly use IFTTT to setup the rules? I use that now to use with my iOS device to some extent.
I think you gotta use what just fit you the most for how you use your phone. I love my 6s+ and my S7 edge and my Note 5 and my......I have to admit I have a Galaxy S7 right here on my desk and I'm just not wowed by it. The screen is great but so far thats about it. I guess i'm just a iPhone fanboy now.

Just use what you like the best. Doesn't matter who makes it......
Bluetooth is the way to go. Funny! You use your iPad to make and receive calls? Then this will be you when they remove the headphone jack from the ipad too!
