A small (possibly removable) price to pay to not have to feel pressure to buy in season and spread out the hunt and the fun over time. Although I will never forget missing out on one that went for $175This is beautiful. I hardly noticed the black dot.

Can anyone recommend a stainless steel band that would go well with the Hermes SB Watch?
The apple link bracelet would be the obvious choice, but when I tried it in the Apple Store, I had difficulty managing the butterfly clasp b/c of my hand dexterity issues.

Three seconds with a wet cotton swab and my mint Biscuit/Bleu with one imperfection is just a mint Biscuit/Bleu. Pops so hard in person.

The band is also available from Hermes USA in 45mm for those who can not get used.
I have to be honest, that new Metropolitan face announced in watchOS 9 might be close enough to Circulaire to convince me to get the regular SS (or Ti) watch next time around, especially if Circulaire continues to be so dim in AOD mode.
Also tho, California jacking the original Hermes face look pre-dated the introduction of Circulaire…I know we just got Circuit but maybe they’re gonna ship another Hermes face in fall to keep it fresh. I’m guessing it would be horological/astronomical and not another computer watch face.
Yeah something like that would probably be enough to keep me. But Hermes will need to step it up some for sure. Circulaire is so much less usable in AOD mode than every Apple face, which is a shame because it’s also one of the prettiest analog faces. Now that Apple will be offering such a similar face, Hermes needs to bring something different to the table.
It wasn’t much of a difference on the S5 and S6. But the gap is huge on the S7 with its brighter AOD. Here’s Circulaire compared to California.
And this picture makes Circulaire (and especially the complications) already look brighter and more legible than they are in real life.
100% true. The complications on Circulaire are not legible in AOD except in a really dimly lit room. On the S7, Apple’s faces are so bright in AOD that I sometime mistake them for the “On” appearance (until I flick my wrist of course). If Hermes/Apple would fix this one issue, I probably wouldn’t even think about going back to the regular SS. The Hermes faces are that pretty. But Apple has enough “close enough” faces now and the added brightness has created a real usability advantage.
Bleu Lin. If you use Blanc, the hour and minute hands are a bit brighter in AOD. But everything else seems to be just as dim.
So how soon will you install the beta to see if it’s any different 🤠
This, 100%. When I see Hermès pictures in this thread, I really miss the faces. And then I remember how disappointed I was every time I actually used them.
I usually jump in around beta 4-5. This year seems like some pretty significant changes so I may wait a bit longer than last for some bugs to get ironed out.
I don’t find the full screen Hermes faces to be unusually dim. But you’re right that Circulaire is a consistent disappointment. It’s part of the reason I use Chronograph and Solar Dial so often.
In other news, I went in 50/50 with my mom on an Orange/Rose Mexico Jumping as a birthday present and…wow that’s a gorgeous band! That the first Jumping Single Tour I have seen in person and I think I might need one now…
This one’s next on my list, I think to put gold lugs on it. I settled for $258 on a stale posh listing that had rejected my offers but it was too late, the seller was gone and it never shipped.
Yeah I saw it in the store and tried it on last spring, i just hesitate on anything that isn’t 44mm like my Hermes, especially because I got Noir/Gris.
I do eventually want a 41mm Hermes too.
Look forward to seeing it with the Rose Mexico dial. The Apple Store hadn’t updated their Hermes watches.
