I really don't get this whole "itch" thing. If the device is working for you, why would you want to waste money on a new one? I'm not trying to diss anyone (to each their own, for sure), but just genuinely interested in the reasons.

Because some genuinely like having the latest device every year, and that’s why they have implemented upgrade plans from carriers and Apple for consumers to take a advantage of having these options. Just because somebody has a perfectly good working device, doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be permitted to have the latest device as long as they meet the requirements and make their payments. I would say most consumers to retain their iPhones for a number of years, but for those who are more tech oriented, they do enjoy agreed to having the latest device because its optional.

If the iPhone X “plus” screen is made by Samsung and is as good as my iPhone X, then I’ll buy it. Been waiting for a note sized Apple phone for a while.

If it’s made by Samsung it will be the same quality OLED with Apple's True Tone color calibration, just larger. :)

If it’s made by LG then we’ll wait to the display shoot out to decide but I will speculate not as good if only by a few nits.

Doubt there will be much to differentiate the 2018 X and given the prices it would be a very expensive upgrade, so I'll probably wait at least another year.

Looking forward to getting the X plus for the bigger screen. I’ve missed the real estate from the plus phones.

I don’t think Apple will allow the shoddy displays LG made for the pixel XL and LG G6.

No itch because my iPhone 7 Plus serves me better for half the money. The rumor of a 550$ Plus-sized bezel-less LCD iPhone gets me an itch though.

i got my iPhone X on launch day, so i've been using it for almost 6 months now. honestly i'm getting new phone itch again. can't help myself but checking out the Huawei Mate 10 Pro, P20, Samsung Galaxy S9+ and even the Product Red iPhone 8+ LOL. Apple's fall launch can't come soon enough. how many of you are in the same boat?
The only itch I have is seeing what’s coming up in WWDC... that’s it.. I’m just waiting to see how Apple improves this great phone I love my X

No itch - I've got my 8 and X to play with. Come September I'll just buy what's new.

I love my X but I will probably get the new version or the X+ when they come out. To me it just makes sense to get a new phone every year and break even or make a few bucks selling the one you've paid half the price of. Hopefully I'll be able to sell my X for $600-700 after paying off $500 of it.

Slight buyer’s remorse on the iPhone X. Face ID is so unreliable for me, it’s just becoming more of a headache than a timesaver despite resetting it 3 times since launch day and trying to keep the sensor array clean. Moving from a 7+, I miss the wider screen that was better for watching videos and the reliability of Touch ID. The OLED screen on the X makes all of the cons totally worth it for me. The black-and-white mode on the Kindle app looks stunning and I barely use my Kindle Voyage now as a result. Colors pop and the extra screen real estate makes the device just seem like a more efficient use of space. If Apple made an upgraded version of the X in a plus size with a backup Touch ID sensor on the rear, it would be the best phone I could ask for, but there’s absolutely no way they would take a step back in that department. I’ve been looking to jump outside of the Apple ecosystem for my next phone upgrade, but I’m probably in a little to deep to be considering that honestly.

I came from 2+ years on a iphone6, so the X still seems great to me. FaceID and just the general speed increase makes me believe that the X will be performant for years.

I am satisfied with the X for at least a few years until the notch is completely removed or the form of the phone changes and something ground breaking comes out of it. I just want a refresh to the iOS. Whether it's the style, the icons, the color scheme, or gestures, it needs something new to make iOS exciting again.

I think there is a huge market for people who like / enjoy the latest model. The various upgrade programs from the carriers (as well as from apple / samsung) show their is a huge market for this.

Plus most trade in their previous device, so they aren't paying outright for the new one.

This could apply to a number of consumer base items. People do this with clothes / apparel, shoes, as well as electronics. There are plenty of working HD TV's that have been upgraded to 4k models.

Just a personal interest.....

I actually still just have buyers remorse lol. I had a perfectly good 6s plus (minus battery which now would be like $35 to replace) and I went all in.

Great phone, but it's the most I've ever spent and didn't even need it. Used
To upgrade yearly. Boy how priorities/perspectives change with two kids and a mortgage. American dream or something like that.
Sell the kids, pay off mortage, buy new iphone! :D

No itch here. Coming from the 7 Plus I love the size of my X, so no desire for an X Plus. And since I'm jailbroken I can change the theme to freshen the look whenever I want.

I’m getting the itch because the camera on the iPhone X is terrible in low light so I will need to replace the device. If they don’t fix the issue with the 2018 X, then I’ll get an iPhone 8 most likely.

Why would you take a step back from the X to the 8, if we're talking camera and camera only?

Yeah I don’t have much faith in LG

There is NO WAY I would ever use Android, but I have backed Purism's smartphone, the Librem 5 (https://puri.sm). I already own one of their laptops (it's awesome!) so if the phone makes it, I'll be running a Linux phone, a Linux laptop, and using my Apple products as doorstops. Of course, Windows-based anything isn't an option for me. AFAIC, they don't even meet the quality bar for a doorstop.

Thank you. A new thinking computer and phone company. At least for me. Saw that they had existed for awhile.
A new THINKING 'Apple' :)
I will DEFINITELY keep an eye on them. Been more and more reluctant to buy new AppleStuff for awhile.

Nothing Apple is itching here.
Getting SO tired of Apple's worse and worse software, and actually Tim's attitude too :D
Never thought I would say that. The feeling of Steve's Apple have disappeared fast.

And no, I have no X.

No itchies and probably won’t have any for a while. The X does everything I want it to do and it does it fast and fluidly. No desire for a comically oversized Plus version or one with a lame cheap lcd.
