Yeah I believe like the LG G5 if you hold them in landscape you will see the screen through the polarised lens but in portrait they disappear. Whereas on the S7 it's the opposite. Portrait is fine, but landscape it disappears under polarised filter.
Holy cow, you're right! Thanks!

Does anyone know if HTC takes returns on phones? I am interested in trying one and possibly returning it just to get a few days to see if it's worth selling my S7 Edge and wait for a HTC 10 price drop if I like it.

They do. I've got a pending return already opened on mine in case I had decided to send it back. I'm going to keep it though. I can't remember off the top of my head, but I think it's the same 14 day period as Google.

I've had the 10 for a couple days now. Still too soon to judge battery. LOVE the feel in hand of this phone. Perfect for me. My fingers keep exploring the chamfers on the back much like they did the dimple on the Moto X. Just feels good. Camera has been impressive in my use so far. I'll try to post a couple pics later today.

As some have mentioned on XDA, there's almost zero visibility of the screen when wearing polarized sunglasses. Just FYI in case that has an impact on your purchasing decisions.

Wow. That is good to know. It'd be difficult to use GPS navigation in the car with polarized sunglasses.

Interesting. Why is that? Is it an LCD vs AMOLED thing?

No it's however they built the display assembly rather than Amoled or LCD as I've seen the reverse of those behaviours on different devices with Amoled (Moto X Force works only in landscape when viewed through polarised lenses for example).

Only affects me when I'm watching a 3D blu-ray and I'm using passive polarised lens glasses. I don't where sunglasses - then we don't get sun to warrant them :D

Simple fix, just mount your HTC / LG in landscape (probably better for GPS navigation anyway) and the S7/S7e in Portrait and problem solved :)

Yep, that's what they told me on the phone too. So from what I heard, if it's not defective, I am responsible for return shipping. There are purple hue issues on the color I want too. I heard the camera isn't so hot now either. Any luck getting advanced messaging for T-Mobile too?

I'm currently on AT&T, so I can't comment about the advanced messaging.

There's a video on YouTube of a XDA forum HTC 10 owner who had a pink hue/tint when tilted when they got theirs and after a fortnight the tint has gone.

So it seems that it may be a glue issue ... ?? Or similar.

First video

Two weeks later - tint at angles seems to have gone

Out for delivery :)

If you get the chance, and assuming your phone hasn't had the latest update (and that there is an OTA waiting), I'd love to know how the camera experience is before/after.

Just curious after the sluggish shooting time I experienced in a Three store yesterday.

I think the doggies need a walk........just sayin........oh and then you can take a few snaps :)
Will be taking them soon. Initial impressions the device is fast and there was a bit of lag during initial setup (downloading my apps and accounts and installing OTA updates at same time) but that's normal, once set up its as smooth and buttery as my S7e or the Nexus 6P I had before it.

Didn't like HTC keyboard so installed Google Keyboard.

Device got warm installing / setting up but has now likewise settled down.

My device has an even colour all over for those worried about screen and viewing angles are good. There is a small fade when viewing off axis but i am hopeful this will improve. It's only noticeable because I went looking for it.

Build is very good, it feels really premium and so it should, it's a €700 phone.

Boom sound speakers are good. Bout same quality as the 6P but with more clarity but less volume. They are better than the S7e or my iPhones too but not by leaps or bounds.

Fingerprint reader is very accurate, even with moisture on my hand after washing dishes.

Multitasking is buttery smooth, got 16 apps open and can multitask between them without refreshing or stutters.

Haven't tried games as I don't tend to game on mobile.

Compared it yesterday for kicks against a S6 for speed. The 10 was in demo mode, I opened apps on both simultaneously and then cycled through them. The S6 won especially opening apps, not by a wide margin but considering the processor and RAM I was surprised.

Was in an HTC mood today and took my M8 out for a bit. Love the all metal design and flush camera. It's still a really beautiful phone, but man do they need to shrink the bezels. I compared it to my S7 Edge, and the phones are basically the same size.

What clock widget is that on the HTC M8? I like it a lot...is it just the stock Google clock one?

So does that mean the S7 Edge is going up for sale? I have that keyboard issue that you have still, I think? Mine is with Swiftkey, where words randomly merge together or get autocorrected inaccurately. I am very interested in the HTC 10.

We'll see. No issues with typing now on this device at least.
