I am half way convinced they botched my order, which seems to be a common thing on the XDA forums.

No they can't...but there are plenty. Primarily for our Canadian friends. If you go look at the pre-order thread on XDA, the Canadians are getting the shaft, it seems.
HTC had the same issues the the Vive. Digital River is pretty awful. That said, every release there are threads complaining about order issues. No matter who does the fulfillment.
As did I...though I wouldn't have had I know how close the phones are. It's practically next day either way for me.
When I get the earphones I ordered from HTC I will head to an ATT store and try them on the A9. In the settings for BoomSound Dolby, those earphones are listed in the options menu which is the same for the 10.

I am really hoping the "gift" is earphones that the rest of the world received. I am prepared to be disappointed.
Sounds like on XDA people that ordered late last week got the email a couple days after their phone shipped. But who knows when the official cut off is. Haven't seen an email yet.

I did not get an email. I just checked my order via HTC's website and got the FedEx tracking number. Shipped from Indianapolis as well and arrival for earphones is Friday. I ordered too late for shipment to begin that current day.
I can go to Verizon to try them on a 10 but picket lines have been growing in my area and I want to be sympathetic, I was once in their situation albeit with a different company.
I didn't either, but there still might be a chance for us. Check your spam folder. Might come in waves like the Project Fi legos. I am guessing we are in early enough that we'll get the gift.

Very thorough review and confirmed what I thought about the device is that it is a good, not spectacular device as it has a somewhat average to good screen compared to other flagships and solid camera that probably ranks behind the S7E and IP6S+.
I have never been a fan of their design though I know many enjoy it.
Sense seems very nice though and not a big variation from stock but nice added features.
I can avoid my tech ADD for one release of a new phone. Whats next?
