That looks nice!
Here is another one...

The iPhone and M10 look like a sleek black slab. The logo ruins it on the S7 imo. But the logo is less noticeable on the chrome S7 edge in the previous picture.
09fdaa0dc4f15d39b5e83961fd9ebcf0.jpg

Agreed. It isn't as bad on the silver titanium one which is what I have but it would look so much cleaner without the logo. I got a matte black Dbrand skin coming for the back as it is just too slippery and scratches are bound to happen. They also sent a front one. May throw it on and it will cover the logo but the titanium color is too good to hide on the front.

Ok owners, when you get around to doing some listening please try the "other" setting for earphones rather than the Pro Studio. The consensus on some reviews I have read state that is the best option for the best sounding audio quality.

Depends on the headphones being used. The headphones (earbuds) that ship then yes the pro option sounds better. The Xaoimi Piston 3 and Sienhiesser studio headphones I tried work better with 'other' selected.

Taking the plunge and making the M10 my daily driver for today. Having to get used to Sense all over gain though. Not a bad thing just different. Sometimes we forget how entrenched in certain software we can get. I know TW and IOS pretty well. Sense is nice and has it's good points and bad points as ALL Android skins do.
One little Sense quirk is the display auto brightness checkbox. Most of the time you can swipe down and get the display brightness slider. On Sense you get that too. But the checkbox for auto brightness is gone.
It is under settings/display, gestures & buttons, then brightness level. It's kinda hidden. But then I only use this feature when I am outside to auto brighten the screen.

I'm using the Google Keyboard but it won't update to the 5.0 version. Do you guys think it's just not supported. I downloaded the APK and it installs but doesn't perform correctly.

No it is likely just not rolled out to your territory yet. It's the same for me, you can sideload the newer version instead if you don't want to wait till they roll it out in your territory. The page to the apk is on the keyboard thread.

I am guessing MBKHD is swimming in money, because his reviews have been less than stellar lately. Seem pretty rushed and I don't really value his opinion anymore honestly. The Erica Griffin and AA reviews were very informative in contrast.
Yeah he was actually one of if not the first 'professional' youtuber to post the review. A full 10 days before AA, Pocketnow, MobileTech, Detroitborg & Erica. I do feel (especially looking at the fancy new studio) that he is pretty much selling out of late to fund this new full-time lifestyle ... it's been the same with the last few big phone / tech releases.

I disagree. His reviews are exactly what I watch for, entertainment value and a quick run down from someone I trust in recognizing good tech when they see it.

These 20-30 minute, monotonous reviews with single camer shot, no varying sets or any other perspectives of the device is relatively boring and a snooze fest.

I am not buying a phone based on these you tubers review but for entertainment value in taking about a device I already know 90% about.

His production quality is the best in the business and he doesn't need 20-30 boring minutes of details to tell you it's a good product. He was very complimentary and summed it up perfectly. Great phone, nothing earth shattering and the perfect compliment to your Toyota Camry :)

Good for him. He deserves it. still the best in the business next to the detroitborg for me.

Erica is zzzzzzzzzzzzzz, pocket now is annoying as their "talent" is a joke, and others are just riding the coat tails.

Get on his level everyone.

Why because he has a "crispy" camera?? He used to have very good reviews and opinions. Now he just lists specs that we already know. Not informative at all.

Sure his camera has part to do with the excellent production value I mentioned but I don't want to sit and listen to someone for 30 minutes go on and on about stuff we already know. 90% of the people here are hardcore phone fans and know the details. Give me your thoughts in an entertaining way, with a mixture of specs, and your real world use and thoughts of someone that handles almost every flagship out there.

But if you prefer the former, good on ya and enjoy.

For me, he's one of the best in the business for prompt informative reviews that are a pleasure to watch from someone that is knowledgeable on the matter. To each their own.

.

The problem arises when those thoughts are being paid for as I suspect they very much are these days. Yes this enables MKBHD to make very fancy new videos on the latest kit, and fund the fancy new city office studio; but it then also places a large question mark over the validty of that opinion. Is it really his opinion or merely the opinion he has been paid to say? That is what I have in last few months, began wondering or growing supicious of, and he hasn't actually posted a 'bad' review of a device in quite some time.

I have no issues with his desire to make MKBHD a brand and clearly he is very clever and entreprenureal young man who will succeed in doing so. But if he has esentially then decided to take pay for reviews, then we can no longer hold them to the same standard as they once were, and perhaps we should in future just look at them as merely tech 'candy' popcorn rather than an honest opinion / review.

That being said I would still take MKBHD's delivery of edited content over Flossy Carter who stands polar oposite on the production value and delivery method route.

I like MBKHD too. He just tells like it is. Not 30 minutes of monotonous review like say DetroitBorg. Even his voice is monotone.

Yeah I for sure prefer "boring" reviews to flashy camera work and a nice voice. Boring is usually more detailed and informative. And surprised the Samsung fanboys here like him so much. He is usually quite anti-Samsung and Touchwiz.

But I prefer NPR to cable news channels, so my age is clearly apparent here :). When I was in my 20s I would have liked it too.

I get what you are saying but he is not making the revenue from the brands that he is reviewing, he is making it from you and me from clicking his videos over 1million times. It's very easy to see he has multiple flaws in all reviews he does and doesn't ever have an overwhelmingly glaring review on any device. He is very easy even and fair in my opinion versus what I have seen from other reviewers or youtubers like unbox therapy who is a joke.

I don't get the "paid for positive review" at all if ever with mkhbd as I enjoy his production quality and work he puts in to his art.

But again that's like you saying you like classical music and me saying I am not a fan of it. Certain entertainment and people will appeal to some and not others.

And you gotta drop the Samsung fanboys term. That's twice in one day and still don't know who you are referring to when you drop it.

Definitely not me I hope :)

I wish he would stop the name calling too. We can disagree on phones and reviewers and it's all good. But some take things waaay too personal if not everyone likes the phones or reviewers they do....

Good to be fans of something though no? I am a fan of certain sports teams, cities, restaurants, ski resorts, airlines, etc. Not really a bad thing. Don't take it personally, all in good fun.

I am a huge fan of Nexus. Not the recent phones so much, but I am proudly a Nexus fanboy.

And no, I don't buy it at all the "middle ground" some try to play around here. But all good.
[doublepost=1463185435][/doublepost]And really this thread is about the HTC 10. And just like I have been asked to stay out of threads where I scrutinize other phones, same should apply here no? Yet time after time this has been derailed by how the Samsung is better. Shouldn't that stay in the Samsung thread? Just seems a bit one sided that is all.

People were discussing a video and youtube reviewers. No one mentioned Samsung at all in this string until you tossed in your fanboy term that you love throwing around.

I do agree with you that yes it is fine to be a fan of something but you know damn well that term isn't the same definition of the other items you mentioned. Especially when you paint it with such a large brush and its extremely false as in this case, but yes lets move on.

HTC10, great phone.

But you are just making assumptions that he is only making revenue from 'only' YouTube and not from kickbacks from suppliers / manufacturers. There is no more credibility to your assumption than to my suspicion that he is getting paid to review some, if not all devices these days. The way he embraced #hype marketing for OnePlus was the first indicator to me that he was paying more than just lip service to the company. It's clear OEM's like OnePlus see the value in getting him onboard and incentivising him for a positive review.

I don't mind him getting paid to review, heck we would all be so fortunate, just that 2016 MKBHD feels a lot more 'commercialised' and revenue driven than the MKBHD of a year or two ago.

You are exactly right and I do agree but he isn't showing any traits of doing that though as he has been consistently unbiased in his recent reviews. He was very positive about the S7E which is normally a sticking point due to TW and he even made a flaws video of the S7E showing some valid discrepancies with the S7E.

Move to the HTC10 and his review is pretty consistent with almost every other review and others here that HTC has redeemed themselves with this device after a couple stinkers. I don't think that points towards pay for review.

Both of our views are only assumptions for each side but I think he has not changed at all from what has made him one of the best in the business minus not being as detailed as he may have when he started but do you blame him? Why do the same thing over and over and over when you are looking to grow your brand and differentiate from the others and he is doing exactly that while others are lagging behind.

Just my take.
