We all know Apple has been becoming progressively greedier and greedier and many people have been ok with that, but this year i think it's time that we say stop.

$999 for a phone that has literally not a single new feature besides slight improvements in water resistance and some "bokeh" crap that could literally be added as a software update. The a12 has only a 5-10% increase in performance cpu based on slides and the gpu upgrade won't be noticeable for at least the next 2 years.

the Xr could have been a success but it ended up too expensive considering it's a single camera with removed features like 3d touch. and what's with that disgusting bezel that looks worse than the iphone 8's bezel??

Maybe it's time to skip a generation and tell them that we're not gonna put up with being milked this easily?
You mean act like an adult and be responsible for your actions, and stop blaming other for you purchasing decisions? Your dad would be proud.

If you do not want be used as sheep, you should not be one. Lions are not used as sheep:)

People are jumping on the OP for their opinion.. Which by the way is valid. Apple is charging ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS for a PHONE. You can pay that all you want, do the payments, etc. At the end of the day it's still $1,000. The price is unacceptable. The reason there are even multiple threads on here regarding price is because people continue to just accept that the prices Apple is charging are okay. I would love to know exactly how the iPhone is worth $1k or more. Even the "budget friendly" XR is $749. Apple is simply pricing some people out of being customers. They seem content on that because there are always a group of, as the OP said correctly, SHEEP. Stop giving $1k over like it's okay. And if anyone wants to say I'm just picking on Apple I also will say that Samsung charging $1k for their phones is just as ridiculous. $1,249 for a 512gb (storage no human being needs). Give us all a break and stop being sheep.
Telling others to not spend their money as they please, calling them Sheep is is one none of your business and two arrogant. Yes it’s a lot of money or it’s chump change, just like every other product. Very few pay full price anyway, particularly those who upgrade every year, use carrier promotions, etc. only ones who pay full price are those who purchase and never upgrade. The Iphone has used value for years.

Lol.

This is going to be a massive iPhone year for Apple. The 6 and 7 are still the most used iphones on the planet....it's major upgrade time for those users.
I'm thinking of upgrading to Xs(still have the 6), but i'll wait til Mate 20 pro comes out and decide then. Currently i'm more intrigued by the Mate and all of its features.

Apple isn’t forcing anyone to buy an iPhone. If you don’t think it is worth the money, then there are plenty of other choices around. Apple also has a range of price points. You don’t always have to have the latest and greatest. I upgraded from a 6 plus to an 8.

Not the point though is it. Stop defending robbery.
We shouldn't have got to having 'price points' where there's an iPhone for the poor, one for the decent earner and one for those with plenty of disposable income. You can get a fantastic Android smartphone for £800 and yet Apple now have a £1449 model. Last year's X model was £1000 and people were shocked but now they have added 50% to that price in just 12 months. No. Just stop. Most people simply cannot and will not keep apace with these prices.

Oh look at that, news from march. How cute.

https://www.cnet.com/news/apple-sec...sales-show-wall-street-analysts-got-it-wrong/

News doesn't stand still you know.

Robbery is Samsung charging $999 for a Note 9 that they will only support for 2 years (without timely OS updates), ang Google charging $850 for their phones while still data mining your personal data and only support it for 3 years.

For the same price point, Apple is supporting their phones for 5 years at the least. Calculate the per day cost, and Apple comes cheaper.

$999 iPhone Xs for 5 years: ~ 55cents per day
$1099 iPhone Xs Max for 5 years: ~60cents per day
$999 Galaxy Note 9 for 2 years: ~$1.37 per day
$850 Pixel 2 XL for 3 years: ~ 78 cents per day

It’s ironic some posters choose to quote him.

Just do a search on Ewan Spence, that’s the Forbes writer and see what comes up.

I concur on the note 9 being overpriced for what it is.

So who's getting the Galaxy S10 February 2019?o_OCould be a game changer, never know:cool:

If the s9/note 9 were any indication, not that many.

I heard the same thing about the s10 being a game changer with a notch and no headphone jack.

Hope you enjoy it.

I feel your pain. I ate at a restaurant the other day that had the nerve to advertise a hamburger that cost the same price as the old one without adding any new ingredients. Last year I bought a new car, and it had no new features. What is the world coming to?

My wife told me she knew some new tricks in bed, but she didnt add anything new and just wore different panties :(

I honestly don’t understand the point of this thread.

People are complaining that a company is somehow “robbing” them and forcing to pay more than $1000 for a device.

They aren’t forcing anyone, they are creating a desirable product and including an ecosystem that is attractive to lots of people. It drives desire to own the product, but you don’t have to buy. This is how capitalism works. It drives innovation. It creates competition among companies working in the same space. It gets everyone better stuff.

Most people who complain about it would feel totally different if it was their product to sell, guaranteed.

I don’t know a single person, who if we’re selling a product, and could get $10 for it in the free market would decide to sell it for $6, do you?

I'd like to quote the article that you've provided me with: "The biggest hardware upgrade this year is the new, larger 12-megapixel sensor. Last year Apple said the 8 and X sensor was “larger” than the 7’s, but teardowns revealed that this wasn’t meaningfully true; the field of view and focal length of the lens didn’t change. This time, though, Apple is citing the increased pixel size, which should indeed make a difference"
Which means that this year Apple might have lied again. We are going to have to wait to see if there are any REAL improvements.

Did you ever come and admit that the camera in the XS is materially better than in the X, as almost all reviewers have pointed out due to increased sensor size and a better wide angle lens?

Now you're acting like someone who is insecure about your decision not to upgrade. I also decided not to upgrade, but certainly wish the best for those who did.

The iPhone Xs Max is an expensive (arguably overpriced) but good device, and the WiFi / front facing camera / charging issues look to be caused by software bugs that should be fixed in a future update.

Not for a phone, but for a miniature computer with so much computing power, that it's almost unreal.
You're saying that like Apple is selling a landline telephone, what many of you don't realize is that these devices are masterpieces of the 21st century technology.

That basically describes every cellphone sold today with the exception being varying computing power.

I think computing power in phones is somewhat a lie though as I’ve said in the past. Apps that make use of the power take time to be developed and even then only in edge cases do you see significant differences.

Is it a lie? Same lie as PC then, I mean MS Office doesn’t require core i9 does it?

There are plenty of enterprise focused apps and pro video and photo editing apps now on mobile. It’s just a matter of whether you’re looking for them or not.

I’m a sheep. I know it. Apple knows it. My new gold iPhone XS Max knows it. My series 4 Apple Watch that’s still a month away knows it.

Rinse/repeat.

Phones are fast enough now that in the case of iOS a 7 Plus, X and XS. The currently available apps run find on all of them.

If you want to edit pro video regularly on mobile. Chances are most would probably at a minimum use some type of iPad.

I don't take anyone seriously that calls anyone "iSheep". Those of us that use iOS know why we use it,
the ecosystem, and build of the iPhone. Is it perfect? no. Nothing is, but I wasn't ever happy with Android devices. I don't like the unpolished look of the Android UI, the fragmented OS, etc. Those that do love Android, I don't put down and call them names, that's just so juvenile. It's a personal preference.
