weird. I don't remember typing the "I'm no expert..." stuff. The forum's caching of incomplete text is a bit disconcerting.
On MR forums several users seem to think Apple like to upset their customers on purpose .....This is SO wrong as to be laughable. The iPads did not get 3D Tough due to the weight it would have added to the tablets. That's all. It's no ploy. It's not there simply because it would add too much weight and thickness to the tablet. Everyone here seems to think Apple does everything just to screw their customers. Every time I see a post about this, I want to scream.
Just a little quick math shows adding 3D Touch to the iPad Pro would take the weight from 723 grams to over 770 grams atleast. When they figure out how to do 3D Touch without the weight gain, that is when you will see it in iPads..
A Surface Pro is SLIGHTLY bigger than the iPad Air 2 ???Unless you're Microsoft and put 256 GB with 8GB ram on a tablet that's only slightly bigger than the air 2 ( yes I owned them both).
Apple definitely holds things back.
Hence why the pro gets the old Touch ID and 32 GB ram..
There's simply no excuse.
Staffpad - good luck finding an iOS example that even competes with it. (Hint - there isn't).
Drawboard PDF - one of the best PDF/markup apps I've ever used. Much better than iAnnotate and PDF Expert. That annoying thing with PDF Expert where you have to press the pencil button to draw - doesn't exist on the Surface with Drawboard. You just start writing at any time - like it's a real pen!
OneNote - this is finally on equal footing with the W10 version, since Apple caved and added a stylus. You know what though? I've used this for over the past year......
Webbrowsers - iOS safari vs Edge = edge wins..
What else is there?
RSS Readers - W10 has good ones.
Reddit client - just use the website.
Facebook - just use the website.
The only game I played was Sudoku - and guess what?
The W10 version emulates the paper/pencil experience. You use the pen, as if you're playing from an actual book. Same thing with crosswords - you use the pen.
The state of those on iOS right now for the iPad Pro - pencil support isn't implemented like it is on the Surface. It is just a matter of time though - but it is another example.
Such as?
This place loves making mountains out of molehills. Even if you do use that method, you can get a LOT of usage out of just a few minutes of charge time, even if you don't get it up to full charge.I'm not 100% sure why people dislike the charging from the iPad so much. Why? You don't have to use it, you can use a cable. It's a backup method if the battery goes flat. Talking about whining about something that is a non-issue.
Such as?In the short time between now and when the iPad Pro launched, all of the internal and external software my company uses has launched iOS versions.
Lol, in which parallel dimension Edge is better than Safari
In my experience, it takes about 20 minutes to fully charge the pencil with my iPad once I get the 5% remaining popup. This place loves making mountains out of molehills. Everyone half competent in industrial marketing could tell you that's absolutely false. Companies release technology as soon as they think it's ready for mass production.I Agree, Apple dont purposeful upset customers for the sake of it.
However i think they "Need to" upset customers in order to keep offering extra gravy from base models and up..
They have already figured how to add 3D touch imo and will be on the next pro version, for sure, but they purposefully (imo) held it back on the base pro (V1) so they have a worthy, significant & "Tempting" upgrade to V2 pro and possibly air3
TBF though, apple are certainly not alone here as it is a sales/marketing strategy (bait & switch) employed by industry the world over

They want to keep customers happy and loyal, and to anticipate other companies.....
If technology is not released, is because of issues or yield consideration....
There is just something about a Pencil on paper that just feels right to me!
Let me know what you guys think

Agreed!
I do wonder if kids of the future will think/feel otherwise if the stylus on glass thing is their earliest memories of doodling...Can you imagine if paper and pencil felt weird to them![]()
I think people are over selling this--i really had no adjustment time to working on tablets--I loved the different tools available, layers, etc. Its really great that digital sketching is so much more available--enjoy!
that's totally unrelated with "new technology"....Yep, which is why they have 32GB as the base model on their "pro" iPad..

I'm not happy about 16 Gb as a base for iPhone / iPad and 32 Gb as a base for the iPad Pro too.
It should be 32 Gb and 64 Gb respectively ....
No need to keep pressing the point because it's naive to think that companies don't hold back technologies. The most successful companies have comprehensive multi-year plans with the goals of maximizing competitiveness, customer satisfaction, profits, and longevity. It is a clear example of Apple holding back though..
Not. Since there is nothing holding back in storage sizes....It is a clear example of Apple holding back though..

It isn't an example of them holding back new technology.
