I'm still holding out on my 6S and 6S+ running 10.1.1. I still have my 6+ and 5S running 9.0.2 jailbroken plus an iPad Mini JB on the same. I don't use the mini anymore so It's been sitting in a drawer for the past year but it's there if I ever want to use it again.

So any update on the long awaited stable gamma release JB for us 7 Plus owners ? I'm dying here after selling my Nexus 6P to try out iPhone.

It's looking like this is it, or it's at least a couple months away considering the huge bugs that still aren't fixed and nobody seems to know how to fix them.

Seriously, Apple is so dumb. Im pretty sure they would sell a hell lot more iPhones if it would be as easy to jailbreak as it is to root an Android. I bought an iPhone 7 with hope to jailbreak it later on, now it looks dark on that front. Darker than ever? Anyway an iPhone without jailbreak is an OK phone, but I want to get out more from a "smartphone" that costs this much. Looks like Im going back to Android again.

I moved to 10.2 after losing my LTE. I realize it was a beta, but still...

Whaaaat? That was a waste of a jailbreak opportunity honestly. I think that happens 100 percent of the time after installing beta.

3 mobile terminal commands and a reboot woulda resolved it..

--

To people wanting to try the beta since there's been no update for about a month beyond chatter, id set a breaking point date (maybe like a week I dunno whatever you're comfortable with / impatient for) and if it doesn't happen just go for it? There are reddit tutorials how to overcome the hurdles

As long as you install iOS 10 compatible tweaks and don't mess with any stashing tweaks (cool star or ijap come to mind) as that will (in case of ijap) or may (coolstar) screw your chances of an upgrade path to "stable" jailbreak

Something to the tune of I think 20k users are jailbroken on iOS 10 currently. Saurik isn't gonna leave them in the dirt or qwerty

But the stashing method is so poorly executed saurik doesn't know where to begin reversing the damage

--

For what it's worth I think a final build Will happen I just think qwerty is dragging his feet two fold
1) he already warned staying 10.1.1 before window closed if you followed the hype, and said 10.2 for non 7 devices eventually.
2) since having 7/7+ get its first jailbreak is where most of the hype is, AND the window is closed, he is in no rush especially since he released a beta POC proving he isn't making stuff up

So I'm thinking of going for the beta with my 7+. I've been jailbreaking since the original iPhone and the 3GS, so I'm fairly familiar with the scene, BUT, I've never used the SHSH/Termninal commands before. I'm pretty computer savvy. I've read the tutorials on redmond pie and they seem really straightforward, but made me nervous when talking about the substrate fix.

So my question to all who've taken the plunge: Is it really that bad? Most of my favorite tweaks are already compatible, so I'm reaaally itching to do this... Is redmond pie blowing smoke about the substrate fix?

It's really not that bad at all, once you get all your tweaks installed, it is actually pretty stable, at least for me. The only minor headache is having to resign the mach_portal app every 7 days using Cydia Impactor. The terminal commands simply change the permissions on a few folders so not really something to stress about. As far as the substrate goes, just download Substrate Fix (iOS 10) from repo: http://83.218.67.215/~ijapija00/cydia/ and use that program to respring instead of anything else, including inside Cydia. Sometimes the mach_portal app will fail and reboot the phone, just simply try again. It should take no more than 3 or 4 tries at the most to get it to work properly. Good luck.

Didn't read Redmond pie but but substrate fix was above all else, premature and a short sighted public decision to make, releasing it to the public without thinking About the repercussions, that it's more work for saurik and Luca and it may even be delayed because of that. Who knows.

..But you'll be fine.

As for "terminal commands" u install 'mterminal' on default repo on CYDIA and run a few Chmod commands. I posted it somewhere back in this thread what u type.

Afaik , MTerminal does not require substrate either.. if you aren't ready to take the substrate leap (but then why even bother? IMO) but something to point out

Luca had been replying to some reddit post and it seems that he will release an update to Yalu that will support 10.1.1 and 10.2. My question is does anyone know if 10.2 will be supported on iPhone 7? I read earlier that is was not. Has this changed?

"with yalu 10.1 you all were lucky that I had spent months perfecting it for 6s and 7, but with 10.2 I simply did not have said work beforehand."
-Luca on Reddit

You heard it here, folks. For people waiting, on those models..

6s and 7 gen's (including Plus models) are pretty much good to go,

And from my perspective it's relatively benign, as long as you install compatible iOS 10 tweaks and don't do stashing tweaks at all,

All I really want is springtomize and some themes and a location spoofer. As long as I can install those I'm fine, anyone try any themes out yet?

Went a head and installed the beta jailbreak and so far no issues. Only have two of my favourite hacks installed and I'm happy again. :p

Reboots to re-JB and re-substrate are frustrating sometimes, but that's about my only gripe

And lack of separation of backboard and springboard when restarting springboard (a technicality) but it's mostly a non issue, from my perspective

Air1? I'd stay put out of concerns for performance degradation

Might do it for SE but likely not, he still hasn't released a stable 10.1.1 jb and pangu 9.3.3 works perfect.

iPad Pro absolutely staying on 9.3.3 screw iOS 10 for tablets

So, my 7 plus is on 10.1.1 but I'm confused about some of the stuff I've been reading. Is the 7 plus NOT going to be compatible for the (mythical) 10.2 jailbreak? From the above quote, it just looks like the 7's needed more work is all.

I was gonna take the plunge with the beta this weekend, but got too busy to do it, so now it looks like I'll wait a few more days and hope that an updated version comes out....

Correct, 7/7+ will not see a 10.2 JB from Luca

Requires exploits he isn't ready to reveal/doesn't have, to overcome some new hardware obstacles,

Not the case on all other 64-bit, should get a 10.2 jailbreak

I wish he released a 10.2 beta, so while 10.2 is still signed I can decide whether to jump from 9.3.3 to 10.2 on SE

I won't make the leap without the results, I don't think... But then again if I did with SE, I'd have a 10.1.1 jailbreak opportunity right now, (though bit of a PITA from pangu 9.3.3)

Hmm
