Is it better to stay on 10.1.1 and wait for Luca's stable JB which took so long or just forget about JB and update to 10.2?

How can I use it longer than 1 week because these IPA last only 1 week?!

That's a good question. Right now it sounds totally up in the air if Luca will do anything more to his alpha JB ? Don't know if it's even possible for him to do the required fixes and create a stable version ?

I'm thinking we're stuck with his developers only build. And most likely no other release coming from him at all.

Other hope is to see if the Chinese come out and surprise us with a 10.2 JB later this month. But that's a crap shoot if that's even coming ?

Why do people even make these BS videos ? Acting like a true official 10.2 JB came out this week, showing him installing it...

[Jailbreak] iOS 10.2 - iOS 10 PanGu Untethered - All iDevice

Even posting a link to supposed PanGu website to JB 10.2 iPhone 7;

WTF ? This should be illegal for people to post such fake crap, I can't even imagine what this would do to your phone if you actually tried it. Wow

So what are real cons if you use beta 3 JB if you follow steps and avoid tweaks which are not supported yet?

I would delete the link. Might be considered advertising if marked.

I have a serious question about this... You say that IPA's from here are trusted, but how are you certain? These require the tutu app and the permissions you give them to use this negates any and all privacy. It worries me, so how do we know this doesn't collect very personal data or worse? I'm not calling you out on this, I'm seriously asking for my own benefit. I tried to research this method some, and can't find good information on this. I'm hoping you know more about this?

That's been out for a while and a lot of people are having issues with it. Luca says not to use it.

i mean beta4-1 not beta4. here's whats on his website :

- it may now work (in theory/maybe). It may fail a few times; hard reset with home(pre-i7)/volume down(i7) + power

It's. It even illegal to post fake news, something we all got our fair share of this election cycle in the US.

People make videos and articles with various intentions. The specific intent here? I assume ad revenue.

Too bad this JB'ing stuff isn't like Rooting and ROM'ing on Android, with a great development community like XDA.
Apple basically killed it over the years. They've beaten the "safety" drum ad nauseum (in various ways they're not wrong) andnhave taken features that the jailbreak dec community provided first and incorporated them into iOS (in most (all?) cases free because there was no patent.

In short, they got what they wanted, itnjust took them nearly a decade. I'm as guilty as anyone else here, since I buy iOS devices, but I think Apple changed the digital mobile landscape for the worse. You can only do what we want you to, but what we allow you to, and as a developer you must pays us too. This is all very different from the PC era.

Everything is only going to be as certain as you are the developer doesn't want to screw you. That's going to be the case with any jaikbreak app too. And any official app that asks for various permissions, for that matter.

My fix for the issues in the 10.1 jailbreak will be to add support to 10.2. It will however not work on iPhone 7 on 10.2, just 10 and 10.1.

I dont get it.
This character will put out more things that dont work right and are full of issues?
But will not fix his initial release because other devs released tools to try to fix his JB errors and because people are mean to him?

Like said before, many can release a half baked JB, only few can release a stable JB which benefits the whole community.

It now seems the mess is getting bigger with 10.2 and only partial device support again without any real fixes.
Saurik is working overtime to keep up with all developments, he tries to explain (defend if you will) Luca, but meanwhile is saying he personally would wait for the dust to settle before doing any upgrading.

Don't want so sound ungrateful as I am definitely not able to make any kind of JB, but it seems that it would have been a better idea if Luca had released nothing at all, or at least waited for more stability.

As it is now it is fast turning in to a Failbreak.

Maybe luca is aware that pangu is trying to release 10.2 soon so he's rushing out to release it first. I'm all for it though, I'm on ios 9.0 and my buddy gave me his iPhone 7 earpods but cant listen to them without upgrading to ios 10. Also missing out on the special I messages and games

So it sounds like Luca upcoming fix / gamma release will only work for the iPhone 7 / 7 Plus, if you stayed on 10.1.1 ? Luckily I did that TV app thing, that stopped the phone from trying to auto update, and kept me on 10.1.1.

But old 64bit phones like the iPhone 6S / 6S Plus / SE, etc... should update to 10.2 if they want to run his upcoming stable JB ?

I have a 7 plus on 10.1 and a 6 and 6 plus on 9.3.3.

I think your in the best spot then. For this upcoming stable JB release, a iPhone 7 / 7 Plus needs to be on 10.1.1, and the 6 / 6 Plus needs to be on 10.2

That does not seem to be the case as nobody knows what Pangu is up to anyway.
He ran into trouble with 10.1.1 and is half solving it, in the process he is half JBing 10.2.

Now everybody is scattered over different iOS versions, Saurik was already complaining about that and it is a hassle with Cydia.

Usually I am pretty mild especially concerning devs as they work hard and mostly for free, but this time it seems it is all messed up and getting worse.

Better for Luca to stop the development now and not release anything until a stable JB, I f I was him I would go solely for 10.2 and skip 10.1.1 altogether, better to focus all energy and time towards 1 single JB.

Hopefully the devs pull together to work something out in the background.

Luckily I stayed on 9.3.3 and have no drama....

All this drama is sad. I had a 6S Plus on 9.3.3 JB, but I had to get a 7 Plus and have been without a jailbreak all this time. Maybe the next time around I won't buy a new phone until a jailbreak is available. I never seem to wait.
