iOS 10.1 Beta 2 Bug Fixes, Changes & Improvements

I got about 8h of medium usage and 17h of Standby today on my 7+. Still got 10% battery left..

Don't know it's good or bad, but I'm happy with this. What do you guys think?

Wifi problems on iPhone 6 persist, not sure which previously reported Wifi issues they fixed. I have sent feedback with logs on ever 10 version since the GM.

Beta 2 is def way more stable than any other version of iOS 10 for sure. I haven't seen a re spring yet and the phone feels overall more fluid. I can't wait to see how 10.2 and 10.3 feel

Yeah just imagine what 10.4.1 will be like. Thats 2 better than the holy grail of iOS.

What WIFI problem, if I may ask?

The Wifi on my iPhone 6 has been unstable since the 10 GM release. When you turn on wifi, it connects briefly and then the connection will just flash on and off. Does not matter what Wifi network, happens on a fresh install. Have had the same problem on every version since release or beta. The problem goes away on 9.3.5 so it is not a hardware problems. And it happens on every wifi network so it is not a network problem.

Pulled the trigger on 10.1 beta 2 last night with some of the positive battery life, and animations comments being reported. My main reason was seeing some user's bluetooth problems going away.

My car lasted a 40 min trip this morning on bluetooth with no skipping, speeding up, or cutting off. Going to give it a couple more days though before I celebrate lol.

I know this has been mentioned before, but that horrible and preposterous wallpaper "shadow" should be an accessibility option under white point or increase contrast! Can't spam Apple enough with feedback on this.

I'm having wifi issues too. When the screen is off the wifi disconnects.
Also the calendar fails to notify of contacts' birthday notifications.

Changes:

• Animations on iPhone 7 and 7+ are faster and smoother (for some)
• Carrier version updated to 26.0
• iMessage app drawer UI slightly tweaked (scroll bar replaces dots)
• Adds "replay" button to message effects
• Modem Firmware updated to 2.36 (iPhone 6s Plus)
• Auto-play Message Effects now functional.
• App Store refreshes its cache (without tapping menu bar continuously) every time it starts from home screen if its not already opened in App Switcher. If its opened then updates its contents.
• Contacts refresh with swipe down gesture while there's no refresh icon (previously available at upper left corner)

Bug Fixes:

• Notes should no longer crash (from release notes)
• Notification center bug (untappable notifications) fixed
• Bug that caused white squares to appear in dark areas of photos when shooting in RAW format in apps such as ProCam 4 has been fixed
• Wifi issues (previously posted) have been resolved properly.
• Speaker Volume bug (significant low volume of all types) has been rectified.
• Updated Apps in App Store Updates Section now direct to their dedicated pages after expanding their description/whats new. (Also applies to iOS versions prior to 10.1.)

Bugs: Build relevant | from previous build/s

1. Hard Reset Display Glitch is yet there.
2. Safari Text Selector Right Handle bug. Workaround: use left handle to select the desired text.
3. Viber/Whatsapp (3rd party VoIP apps) doesn't refresh their notifications to appear upon wifi/cellular connection after a period of disconnected state until the main app is opened.

Less than 10 hours on any plus model is not really good in my opinion. If your medium usage include some heavy tasks and a lot of cellular data usage, well it's ok.

I can achieve 8 hours of medium usage with even more standby on my 6 (not a plus) which is 18 months old...

Animations are fine for me on my 7. Much better than the first beta. And no, this isn't the last one. I think we'll see three or four beta's.

iPhone 6s here. Depending on what you were doing (browsing with Data etc), thats pretty good. I got 7.5 hrs usage yesterday (wifi only, cellular data off), which isn't too bad either.
