LMAO i just realised that picture of Tim Cook has Tim Cook really badly photoshopped in on top of someone. Unless he's sitting on someone's lap?
[doublepost=1483985544][/doublepost]The evidence that 'Fabian Wanner' was in a meeting with Tim Cook is clearly doctored - unless Tim Cook is casually sitting on top of an employee?
Holy mother of god, nice find lmaoo. Okay i don't believe the guy anymore lol.

Despite the Instagram guy looking like a fabrication, I still think we'll see a 10.3 beta, and relatively soon. And I suspect it will have some fairly significant updates, perhaps even including the rumored Theater Mode. But I would never, ever trust someone who purports to be an Apple employee revealing anything about any future release, hardware or software. They just don't operate that way.

By the way, more cold water:

not Photoshop, thats a real picture.. I've seen it on a reputable website... the guy is sitting behind cook.... that being said the picture definitely doesn't belong to this fake developer guy, he picked it off the internet and used it.

An official dark mode theme will not be released in the middle of iOS 10. That's a major feature. Apple would save that to launch iOS 11 on the iPhone 8.

You're correct, based on their past, that Apple would more than likely pitch Dark Mode as a "Major Feature" but isn't that a sad state of affairs?

[I'd love Dark Mode btw and would have it on constantly by default]

Can Apple release 2 beta in 2 days? :( seems unlikely because they just released 10.2.1 beta 3 today :(

Logically that should definitely knock back the timescales on 10.3

I don't think they've had concurrent Betas running before have they?

"Based on their past" you could say that about nightshift aswell. Un-apple-like that they didnt saved this feature for ios 10.

I have no source about this but in the past I multiply read about the fact that apple will publish bigger features in "minor" updates instead of saving every idea for the yearly new features explosion.

They've had it with iOS 9.2.1 and iOS 9.3, and they released some bigger changes with iOS 9.3 as well, like Night Shift.

I'm really hoping 2017 will see a return to form, but Apple for some time how have shown a lack of innovation preferring waiting to "perfect" copied ideas rather than leading from the front.

These features have then been spun by marketing as something unique, when in reality they've been available on other platforms for months.

-----

As far as Nighshift is concerned, I could be wrong but wasn't this on the iOS 9 slide as an unmentioned feature in the launch presentation and just delayed slightly on release?

Ignore the Apple developer and focus on Sonny instead. Even if a 10.3 with theatre mode doesn't release tomorrow it doesn't mean 10.3 won't be coming. It's a little too soon to say it's not happening. Plus that rumor is oddly specific.

Oh well, we'll see.

Could be a red herring or it could be what others have speculated: a modified Do Not Disturb feature. Who knows. Maybe we'll find out or maybe we'll find out we were all trolled.

I think this is nothing more than a revised Do Not Disturb mode.

There's no way Apple would promote people using their cell phones in a movie theater. Why would any professional company openly support the douchbag losers who use their phones in the most rude way possible, being on it during a movie in a public theater. I think you should be immediately kicked out of the theater if caught using it during a movie.

A true dark mode, would be considered a "theme" imo, and Apple has not released any theming on iOS yet, that would be a big deal for them, and they wouldn't just casually introduce such a huge thing for iOS in the middle of iOS 10. Trust me, they'd milk that as a major feature and be a part of the keynote speech for iOS 11, if themes ever come out to iOS

Something I've not seen discussed is whether it is some sort of feature related to AirPlay over the Apple TV. Seems unlikely, but hey, you never know!

Theater doesn't necessarily have to mean anything as far as actually using it in a theater (movie or otherwise), but more about using your device while you are watching something at home or something like that, essentially more of an "atmosphere" type of thing than actual location/designation.

If it's a dark mode, Theatre mode could be marketed as a "solution to the problem" or "only for emergencies". Plus they could always change the name.

Damn if its not the dark mode everyone wants, I will be heavily I mean HEAVILY disa. Really. Im so hyped about something like this since iphone 4s with eclipse. And now with these screenshots found in a beta.. the rumours about ios 10.3.. theater mode.. so close now. So close..

EDIT: I got it!!!!!!!!! It has to do with the new home app. Theater mode = one tap to switch the lights off, apple tv and popcorn machine on etc.

That's actually not a bad guess.

I wondered if iphone 7's brighter screens could approximate HDR and theatre mode might be enabling that

I was just about to say the same thing. Instead of having to swipe to the third pane, you have the button right there. Home automation.

Sorry but Theatre Mode for Dark Mode just seems stupid, because it really would give people the wrong idea about using phones in a theatre.

Maybe it will be some screen improvements for watching movie on iPhone? like on some TV (Standard mode, Movie mode, sport mode etc...). Color calibration contrast, brightness modification ,...

The only thing about that is that it would be quite limited as to how many people would be able to get use of it. That said, it certainly doesn't preclude it from being something like that.
