The music app is thr buggiest part of the iOS for sure. Everything else is pretty stable. I have seen some hangs and lags but that's expected with a .0 release. I think by 10.3 the iOS is going to be flawless

Yesterday, in IMessage on my 6, the QuickType area just above the keyboard turned blue for some messages (and not for others). Does this signify something? Is it a theme of some sort? Or simply a bug?

Anyone is having too quiet volume when listen via the iPhone earpiece?
Yes, I've been having this issue. Happens with Apple Music and phone calls.

Good grief people, stop wasting so much time trying to predict when the next beta will drop, if this is the last beta before the GM, etc. If the random release of DP7/PB6 on a Friday afternoon in the same week as a previous beta release should have taught us anything, it's that literally nobody on this forum actually knows Apple's beta release schedule. We may see nothing from now until the iPhone event in September, or we may see 3 more betas. Only Apple knows for sure.

I would have to agree that that music app is having issues. I was listening to a very large playlist yesterday (on wifi) and noticed that within 30 minutes I heard a few of the songs multiple times. I don't remember it doing that in the past. It was like it only knew about a handful of the songs even though there are 162 songs in the playlist. I did notice this when I was out and about but thought that might have been because I didn't have a very good connection so it just played a previously played song but I was on my home wifi yesterday.

I wish they would add the edit option to the quick view of a contact (selecting it from a search). Also, sometimes the edit function doesn't appear when you view from within Contacts.

Doesn't Apple always state that the iOS is a GM on their developer portal. Instead of it saying iOS 10 beta 7, it will say iOS 10 GM. If I recall correctly each GM seed was specified by Apple. The fact that the dev portal doesn't list iOS 10 GM makes me believe that beta 7 is not the GM, so either another beta will be released this week or the GM build.

Two things, first has anybody used Swype and chrome? Possibly an app issue but Swype will flake out and stop working randomly on latest beta and won't work until a reboot.

Also, has anybody used this on air2? Does the volume bug from ios9 still exist?

No, GM build comes out day of event. Not before event.

No

Great so Mid 2017, iOS 10 will be stable? From what I've been reading the betas are pretty solid. Is the music app that bad?

I just noticed today that Quick Reply for iMessage is buggy and sometimes will not send the message that I thought I sent. Very weird.

Sad to hear this.....if its not fixed in the release maybe i'll hold off for a while. I use the music app a lot and it took long enough to get it mostly bug free in iOS 9 for it to only get screwed up again in iOS 10. Just makes me think about when Apple used to get music right on their first try many moons ago. The company that pioneered the digital music revolution for the masses. Sad sad .

I believe that it does... but regardless, this is NOT the GM release. Apple will release the GM within a day of the event (which is yet to be announced)... and they will call it GM when it's out.

If I'm not mistaken, the GM usually comes out the day of the event, giving the developers some time to test the version before it gets released to the public.

Actually the GM is already done and probably about to be flashed onto iPhone 7 models. We just wont see it for a couple more weeks.

If you read the what I quoted, you will see that person believes that the GM comes out prior to the event. Therefore, my response was 100% correct. Yes for internal purposes the GM is done. But it will not be released until the event. I'm fully aware the GM is already done and being loaded on to devices. Thats why I have been claiming for the last week that this is the last beta because the GM is done. There is a 2-3 week gap between final beta and event to load the new devices with the GM.

Doubtful. They release the last one so quickly after beta 6 which makes me believe they're done. Probably working on the GM to be released after the keynote.

Agreed. I'm a bit concerned though if there are still issues like music app bugs and message not sending for some people......

Im not too worried. The GM build is typically much farther ahead than what our betas are. If I recall correctly, they are internally 2-3 betas ahead of us. So they have been working on the GM for over a month now. Worse case, they send a 10.0.1 update day of release like previous years.

Well they're still working on bugs behind the scenes. I'm sure the data gathered from this last beta will help shape the GM and hopefully destroy the bugs. If not, 10.0.1 will be easy enough to release after the new hardware is out.

Beta 7 still to buggy, Expect last beta in 45 min
It could happen, but I really doubt it. Otherwise we wouldn't have seen beta 6 coming 3 days after beta 5. Just my 2 cents.

I'm not going to hold my breath.

One misconception that seems to be floating around is that the betas proceed linearally from "bad" to "good". While that may be true to some extent, it may also be true that different betas are seeded simply to get feedback on particular solutions to particular problems in the wild (with the most relevant feedback probably being automatically provided to Apple). That's why I don't get particularly worked up when something that was working on one beta doesn't work as well on subsequent betas. It may be broken just to test if a particular fix to another problem works in everyday use. Remember, these are for Apple's benefit in getting the final version (GM) ready for public release and not for our enjoyment. We are guinea pigs and not every dose of medicine administered to test subjects is to make the subject well.
