iPhone 8 plus users.... battery life better than 7 plus !!!
For me yes. But my 7Plus was updated from 10.3.3.-> GM, while my 8 Plus was restored as new. So just based on that one variable, its definitely not scientific.

Videos on YouTube show the 8+ having the same home button delay on 11.01 lol
Thats nice. Do you not understand that there are variables that affect the performance of a device? And no two devices are set up the same.

Yeah its actually pretty easy. Occam's Razor. The 8 Plus is more optimized on iOS 11 than the 7 Plus because its the software that came with the device and probably had more internal testing. Once 11.1/11.2 are fully released to the public, their optimization levels will probably be on par.

It was no different last year and the year before. Previous devices always run a little worse up front but get better as the iOS version gets polished.

Actually, this isn't always the case.

When iOS 10 came out, it was stuttery and had performance issues on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, but ran great on the 6 and 6S. It took until 10.2 (I think) for these problems to finally get fixed. Do some searching on the forums; it was driving me and many others crazy.

Software development is a tricky thing and sometimes hardware and software interact in unexpected ways. I do think they should catch obvious performance problems early in testing, but Apple's priorities don't seem to be set that way. A shame, really.

Sorry in this case no. What variables would effect performance to this degree? Post a video of your iPhone then, I would love to be proven wrong.

I upgraded my iphone 6 on 11.0.1 last night .. i must say that I am suprised that update fix a lot of bugs .. i have better battery time over the ios 11... i think , another update like this will be awesome for iphone 6.. to fix small bugs and improvements battery life

I have a better battery performance with ios 11.0.1. Maybe its same with ios 10.3.3

Edit: device is iphone 7 32gb

Weird new bug in 11.0.1 where, when closing an app, I can breifly see the edge of the “Today” view on the left of the screen as the animation is in progress. The issue is intermittent but has occurred on both my iPhone (SE) and iPad (Air 2)

Anyone test this build with carplay yet? I had pretty major issues with the gm build not working with carplay and rolled back to 10.

I use CarPlay daily and it has been working with my 7+ for the most part with iOS 11 and 11.0.1. Twice under 11 appeared to crash and disconnected from my car requiring me to disconnect the lightning cable and reconnect to get it back. Haven’t used it long enough under 11.0.1 to see if that has been resolved since it doesn’t happen that often.

Once I can secure another device to record the video I will. I want to do a side by side comparison of my Air 2 and my 8 Plus so you can see the difference. The Air 2 is a good .3-.5 seconds behind the 8 Plus.

When there are no apps in the multitasking menu and you try to enter multitasking you get haptic feedback. Is that new?

I have updated to iOS 11.0.1 only a few hours ago despite gotten the notifications from MacRumors about the updates.

I would like to update that animations are much smoother. I am on the iPhone 7 Plus, 128GB model.

YMMV.

Is anyone else experiencing a bug where the phone becomes unresponsive from the home screen? I can swipe between pages but no apps will open. I have to do a hard reset to fix the problem. This has probably happened about 10 times to me between the GM and 11.0.1. I'm on an iPhone 7.

11.0.1 user here. Still very buggy. Can't control podcasts from control center. Defaults to Music app. Thought 11.0.1 would fix this. Nope. Also very slow/buggy performance at times. Keep in mind I did an install from new after iOS 11 was a disaster for my 6S Plus after a few days. This is so frustrating!!!!

Had the exact same thing happen to 5 times or so on the GM, but not yet on 11.0.1. If you haven’t already, I’d highly recommend an iTunes restore to load a fresh OS, then restore from your iCloud backup to get content back on.

Thanks, I'll give that a try!

Not showing up for my iPad Air 2 or my iPhone 6S Plus

Would love the stutter while unlocking and heading to home screen fixed!
